Alan is easily the least likable of the Sleepaway Camp "protagonists." I get that they tried to make him feel more sympathetic, like Angela, by having some of the kids and counselors bully him, but it just doesn't work when the person being bullied acts like a bully himself. What made their treatment of Angela so horrible was that he was actually a sweet, innocent kid (excluding her revenge attacks). Alan is just a little jackass, so it's hard to feel as sorry for him.
