Thanks for dropping by Liz! I'm not a big troll doll collector...those are the only two! Long story to them...ha! I LOVE my 4 in 1...a bit big for todays standards, but it does handle legal size paper which is needed every now and then...lol The next one will be one of the little ones! I've seen some real cute ones! I bet that's what you have now! :-)
Well...get with it, JR!! I'm just waiting on you for the duet you know! ha!
Good to see you around again! I hope to see more of ya! Happiest of New Year to you! May you have the best of health for at least the next 6 decades! :-)
Thanks for taking the little tour, Lisa! Those are the only two Troll dolls I have...and they are punk rockers...lol Wishing you all the best in this new year and beyond...:-)
Thanks, Kerstin! It can be a bit overwhelming with all the "stuff", that I can't tell you how many times I do just that, sit down at it...look around and then walk out...hahaha!
Damn, that's quit a collection of stuff! I guess the creative has to have the creative things huh. I'm fixing to go into working with oil paint myself. Great set up Gig!
Thanks, Christina! It's a lifetime of collecting...lol If I were to start painting again, I would go acrylics! They dry much faster and I really don't have the patience to wait for oils to set up (I never let them do that when adding things...lol), not to mention how long they take to dry and "cure". But, don't listen to me...I wasn't much of an artist, so it could have been just me having those issues...lol
Thank you, Andy! I'll keep you in mind when I start clearing things out...:-) All that stuff is OLD, so it doesn't integrate easily with the new stuff...just a warning...lol
Fun?? You call that fun??? hahahaha!! You most definitely have to be creative to figure it all out to integrate it all! And many little splitters and connectors help too! ha!
Really beautiful home! Wow! All the electronics for music, videos, etc... I'm slowly clearing out all our old 'stuff' that we don't use any more. It's shocking how it accumulates. Darn junk still works but carrying around a 15 lb Super VHS camera is just/looks plain/painfully silly. LOL
Thank you, longhairred! You would think with all of this "stuff" my vids would be MUCH better...One small detal, one must remember how it all works...ha! Did you see the video that this is attached to? John did some hooking up of a big old cam and is actually using it...:-) I need to start clearing things out too, as you can tell...ha! It's always so tough for me to get rid of things that still work...but I guess it's time to go out with the old and in with the new...:-)
Hey Caylyn liking the workstation and least you the natural light of the window right there instead of some cramped little space. Thanks for sharing. :)
Thanks, Alesha! Yes...that window is great right there! With all the stuff in there, it feels like a cramped little space...ha! Thank you for stopping by...:-)
Was that a gigantic cassio calculator? wow, that's an impressive collection!Don't get rid of anything, it's too cool! All those wires confuzzle me, but I love the personal touches with the painting, brushes, music equipment, your cd etc etc!!!
Good eye, Tia! Yep...it is...all legacy for me...lol I think I have everything I have ever bought! Can't get rid of it as it still works and I still have ribbon and paper for it...ha! All the wires confuzzle me too! (I loved the word confuzzle! I'll have to remember that!!) Always good to see ya!! :-)
It's my favorite screen saver! I haven't moved to Vista yet! After beta testing it, I decided I would wait until the next gen of O/S arrived. Glad I made that decision!! Thanks for dropping by, Ben! :-)
OMG look at all that electronic gear! That's certainly quite a setup Caylyn. I'm uploading my second response now. I didn't really show much on my first one, LOL. I think I show more dust in one second than you show in your entire video, LOL. I'm not quite certain why you have so many routers? Or maybe they're not all in use.
Yeah...lots of "legacy" gear Blink! The routers; there are two phone/fax routers, a broadband router, wireless router (for my laptop that didn't make an appearance) and the cable modem. There is another router in another room for the security cam system...ha! Lots of routers for lots of "stuff"...So they are all in use at the moment. I have moments of sliding into "geekdom"...can you tell?? hahaha! Oh, and I'm sure there would have been plenty of dust to be seen on both my UPS's...lol
Wow! What a great work station! Look at all that equipment! I have a hard enough time figuring out how to plug the computer in! Neat as a pin it looks to me Caylyn. hugs, Chris
A lot of OLD equipment! :-) That is the problem for me too these days, Chris! Figuring out how it all works...I recently set it all up again, which was very taxing on this old brain trying to figure out where everything plugs in to work together...lol There is so much stuff, it always looks so cluttered to me. Thanks for dropping by...:-) *hugs*
Aren't they cute little trolls, Maryann?? They are "punk trolls"...lol I should take them out and show them one day...:-) As I'm sure you noticed, I didn't show the dusty plugs under the desks...lol
I used to do a lot of audio stuff way back when! I don't do much anymore, but since I recently set it all back up, I'm thinking I will try and learn how it all works again...hahaha! That dumb people pic saved my sanity many a day working with "end users"...hahahaha! Thank for taking the tour, Danny! :-)
For all the stuff I have, Lis, you would think my vids would all be "legacy" vids with legacy gear...but nooooooooo!! I can't remember how to work half of it, but I still keep it around just in case I have that flash of clarity...hahaha!
LOL! No problem. You have so many talents, it must be hard to live up to each of them. About wireless headphones - my son (old school techie) warns against wireless stuff, saying that it's slow. He won't have a wireless mouse or keyboard. I mention it because of your music - half a beat might be too slow - so maybe you want to check that out before you wish too hard. I'm clueless tho - lo tech for me.
The wireless headsets have gotten MUCH better these days (blue tooth technology)! I LOVE my wireless mouse and keyboard! I've been using one for years! By the time I get around to going wireless, I'm thinking the technology will be perfected and they will have moved on to the next greatest thing...lol
WAY too many routers...lol Ahhhh, come on, Curt! We NEED to see where you create your magic! :-)
You are welcome to come up anytime and play with all this stuff! I'd love to be part of a Curt Masterpiece...:-) Besides, I think you would be able to figure out how some of that stuff works for me...hahaha!
Thanks, Serenity! The bed-in was a lot of fun! I'm always in for a good protest, and that was one of them! :-) There is a link to John's channel and a link to the video to attach your desktop vid in the description of this video. You have until the 5th (he extended the deadline) to get your desktop vid in. John is a great guy...so check him out...:-)
Thank you, ktazzman! There is so much "stuff" it always looks so cluttered! It can be a bit overwhelming at times...:-) Thanks for dropping by for the little tour...:-)
Thanks, Deb! I think up things all the time, but it's so difficult trying to do create some of those ideas alone! I need a crew...hahaha! So many things just don't get finished or even started! ha!
You have a beautiful Home, the Wires we can't do much about, but they are everywhere aren't they. I don't know why but wifi Routers really turn me off. I've recently taken to using those little Usb plug in Routers, they work pretty good, so far. Thanks for bringing us into your Home, but beware, we may never leave.
Thank you, steely! It's a lifetime of collecting stuff...lol I used to have a network set up with servers and all, so the routers are leftovers from those days. I'm just happy they still work...lol I'll have to check into the USB ones when these die...:-) Well, if you are staying, here...have a Guinness...ha!
Thanks, Randy! You know you are welcome back any time! I'm sure you could teach me a thing or two on techniques with those brushes! I just might start painting again too! Drum kit on it's way up on the 11th, so bring your bass and your flutes!! :-)
Thanks, Nancy! Everything is old, so I don't think your son would have that much fun...lol Lots of steps to do to integrate things so they will work with the computer. He would be better off getting newer stuff...lol Thanks dropping by and taking the tour...:-) *hugs*
Anytime, Angie! I'm always trying to get people here to jam with...never know, we just might create the next top 40 song...well, if I can ever remember how everything works that is...hahaha!
Oh yes, Lesley! There is a fridge in there! Full of wine and Guinness! Well, a wine cooler fridge thingy...lol Just think of all the things we can do when you come for a visit! :-) xx
Wow - no wonder it takes a while to get a track organized - it must take a fortnight to switch all that stuff on! Enjoyed snooping around although I didn't spot the crate of Guiness!
See...now you know! Takes a lot of time to remember how to work things! Sleep seems to erase most things...lol The Guinness is in the fridge! I didn't show that! Lots I didn't show...there so much "stuff" in these rooms, it would have taken a fortnight to show it all! xx
I was touched to see the recap of the collabs I do every end of year. What a great thing for you to do for me.
Notice how TVs have taken a back seat! You are total wired, loving those routers. If there is one thing I've learned is that there's one heck of market for external hard drives these days!
Artistry everywhere, ur CD, ur paintbrushes, piano, green screen. The musical notes on the wall that are such a treasure.
Would you mind sharing the brand of your mic? It looks awesome! I need one.
Exactly about the TV! More than one person has said "Just in case!" lol
A few years back I purchased a TV capture card for the desktop computer tower and now I get my TV in a little screen. It has a connection for cable as well. These days I use it for my 24 year old 'webcam' JVC VideoMovie back to the future camcorder lol.
Now they have USB external TV capture cards. On my wishlist when I have money :)
Thanks for the info on that mic. It blew my mind to see it.
I would need to set up more monitors to add a TV capture card...lol My wishlist contains two new monitors, widescreen, and some wireless headphones! I want these cords to keep disappearing with each new thing I might wish for...ha!! It's good to dream...maybe one day! :-)
Thanks for checking out the view, Robert! It's always a joy to see you around!! That is a Roland VS1680...old one! :-) When you find the Tascam you are looking for, let me know how it works for you! I just might need something new...ha!
It's the Tascam HD-P2 Hi rez portable recorder. It records separate sound for video and film. I just bought the Sennheiser K6 series of microphones. I knew you would appreciate.
Oooo! I'll have to take a look at that Tascam! (Like I NEED more "stuff"...lol) Sennheisers...SWEET mics! I have one around here somewhere in this mess...ha!
The Senns seemed like the best bang for the money. I bought the one with the screw in capsules. I'm taking a sound class next semester, and I don't know an amp from a kilowatt.
Mine is the product of an empty mind, therefore and empty workspace. Yours is the product of a productive mind, filled with ideas and talent and the devices necessary to realize your goals. I have to say, I haven't seen many studios so well organized. Not to mention with real art on the walls. Very nice work area, Caylyn!
Thank you, Marc! You do NOT have an empty mind and your workstation is beautiful!!! My workspaces are as cluttered as mind can be...lol
I LOVE that painting from Tony (clubsoda921)!! I'm so lucky to have it! I like it there so I can see it everyday, all day...:-)
I'm always trying to reorganize things to make them function for me with ease. So far, I'm losing! Lear jet on the way to pick you up so you can come and help me...:-) xoxoxoxoxo
Desani! YUCK!!! hahaha
Thank you for the home tour, I loved it!! Oh, and did you feel me in bed next to you??? LOL

And what a view!
That's more a studio than a desktop. Loved this. Thank you so much for responding :) Peace and Love.

Thank YOU for continuing the tradition, John! I have such a big mess, I was very reluctant about showing some of it...ha!

Glad you didn't hesitate. I'm going to need your support every year when I come up with these mad ideas lol
johnreagannumber1 3 years ago
You keep having your mad ideas and I'll keep following the madness...ha!

That's why I love ya!

I need one.

I told you I had to keep up my self proclaimed tradition, John! :-) It was once again, a pleasure for me to participate.
I rarely watch TV, but have to have it just in case someone calls and says, "hurry, turn it to channel...???"
The mic is a USB Samson C03U. The C01U is a nice mic too. All depends on what you need it for as to which one you decide on...:-)

I'm with you in the wireless headphones. These days they make them on a frequency that is super clear as compared to 2 years ago. Less interference.
2009 is the time! Sorry, I just had to rhyme. It took me ages just to realize 09 rhymes with Opine lol

Wireless speaker for this 5.1 would be nice too! Getting rid of the cords is the best system for cord management!
Ahhhh...a poet! Now we all know it! LOL

I came here for the view. Man, that recording deck looks awesome! I'm shopping around for a Tascam field recorder myself these days.

I knew you would appreciate.
robertpina99 3 years ago

Ooops...I just accidently deleted a comment to you! Better my comment than yours! :-) You'll LOVE your classes! All the best to you in them! :-)
