  • I have this movie, watched it well over 100 times during my life, I cannot recall the giant human hand in the movie depicted in your video ! ha,,, nice...

  • Attach warp nacells and pylons to it and annoy the Trekkies.

  • @supressorgrid Nah...can't mess with a classic (although that would be funny heheh)

  • I know this is the model people can buy by the way, and my previous question was in regards to actual model from FORBIDDEN PLANET. You folks did a great job on the ship!

  • @rangeclerk Thanks, we really love it. Robby RULZ!

  • @rangeclerk To bad we couldn't get ROBBY to become President! Would def have a manned space program then!

  • In the old Twilight Zone (1950's-1960's) many props from FORBIDDEN PLANET were used in that tv series. Am wondering if this ship was the one used in the TZ esp where the old lady attacks the ship with a ax at the end of the show?

  • @rangeclerk I don't know, but from what I recall, they were very similar. Maybe IMDB's trivia could answer that question.

  • @rangeclerk This ship was used in some of the TZ episodes, I now for sure at least 2 of them but can't recall off hand where I had read this.... very nice. work.

  • @subron6er The prop-ship was used in Twilight Zone's episode "To Serve Man" and "The Invaders" with Agnes Moorehead. It's the only episode with only one person and no spoken dialogue at all (except at the very end); Agnes Moorehead performs primarily in pantomime. Also, the set of Altaira's garden is a reuse of the Munchkin Village set from The Wizard of Oz (Forbidden Planet was filmed in the same studio).

  • That was really cool! Thanks for sharing.

  • Very sweet! I didn't know they sold that model so big!

  • Oh man. That is freak'n sweet! Nice work.

  • This is so cool! I luv this stuff. Thanks for sharing.

PS> I have an original Lunar Models Jupiter 2 that I bought years ago :)

  • That Polar Lights kit is an impressive size, but not very accurate to the studio models used in the movie. One suggestion: If you're going to hang it from the ceiling, why not remove the interior and display it separately?

I suppose I'll get around to building mine one of these days. Just haven't figured out where I'm going to put it!
