@scryabin i've asked him a long time ago when he was still active and he said there isn't any recording of the first fantasia. sheet music should be available somewhere though, i used to have it on my old computer
@xodn3300 I'll let you know when I do! I'm currently working on Liszt's transcendental etudes, it's Liszt's 200 birthday this year so I have to pay hommage you know? :)
Deeply colourful and filled to the brim with emotion. Hand crossovers are fantastic and the descending triplet chords are perhaps one of the most amazing things I've heard for a while.
This is a great brooding and dark work, so many tone colors to explore in this piece. The left hand crosses to the right are quite unusual and somewhat awkward to play but the music is well worth the effort. I would say this is one of the most tragic pieces ever written for piano.
I believe he was just trying to point out the similarities, and not say one is better than the other, based on his lack of a posted opinion towards either.
Hex, do you have a recording of Feinberg's 1st Fantasia? Would love to hear Sirodeau's performance of this too.
-Thanks

Compare this to Scriabin's 9th Piano Sonata.

Really? I'd say they are both fantastic. Are you saying they are similar or that Feinberg was better. They're about the same in my opinion...
