  • Guthrie managed to go through the whole eighties looking like he was going to die at any minute. xD

  • @AJRoman LOL

  • CT are my favorite band of all time. That said, Robin looks totally wasted in this interview!

  • Robin Guthrie is a musical genius.

  • Even when she laugh sounds like an angel...

  • THEY ARE SO CUTE!

  • Can somebody put subtitles on this video?I'm italian and I can't understand all the things they say, thei pronounce is so british!

  • Look at that funky hair.

  • They used all their advance on Hairspray!! sponsored by Silvikrin??

  • I LOVE LIZ' LAUGH !!

  • Cocteau Twins are and always will be Liz, Robin, and Simon.

Don't try to take apart the band 2 decades later by saying one was more essential than the other. Without Robin's guitar washes and arrangements, Liz's angelic voice would have gone to waste in some

dated and mediocre 80's sub-pop. All 3 fed off each other. And we reap the honey from their collective. All 3 members could have had a successive solo career in music, but never could have been legendary as they are now.

  • And Will. And Mitsuo. And Richard.

  • @orangevideo The Cocteau Twins will always be Robin, Liz and WILL

  • @orangevideo

    Wrong.

  • Love Liz, but Robin is truly an unrecognized musical genius! And I really mean genius. Their instrumental work is sublimely beautiful.

  • And people wonder why new wave never got as popular as punk or goth.

  • There's a problem with the term "new wave." At the time, it was more of a marketers' term than a term people self-identified as. The first British punk bands of '76/'77 were sometimes referred to as a "new wave." Then, the term was used for the sort of 60s-inspired, skinny-tied, power pop, guitar bands of the late 70s. Then, it was used for the synth pop of the early 80s. Today, it seems to be used for any early 80s band with postpunk haircuts.

  • Good & Interesting Comment (-_-)

  • "She has done guest vocals" LOL

  • Robin Guthrie? I thought that was a readhead Ozzy Osbourne. LOL!

  • Anybody else get the impression that Guthrie is off his face in this interview?

  • Yes.

  • Yeah I think you're right. Not just the way he's speaking and the fact he's wearing sunglasses, but the way Liz acts when he speaks. It's like she's thinking 'Oh god, don't say anything embarassing!'

  • i'll go as far as to say that guthrie/raymonde are 3/4 of the brilliance. just listen to the awesome instrumentals and you will understand...

  • Oh yeah? Show me her solo work.

She certainly has a very beautifull voice but cannot really do anything without a brain behind her.

  • uh..check out Massive Attack, Medicine, Craig Armstrong...She has done guest vocals on alot of stuff. She has a brain. She is the brain of the Cocteaus..

  • Liz Fraser's voice is at least three fourths of their fruit.

  • haha, are you kidding? there would be no twins without elizabeth... and simon has helped with many of their musical arrangements. they're all vital components.

  • Robin Guthrie is cocteau twins. The other two are only supporting musicians.

  • I'm "Jones-ing" for a new album... Could it ever be possible?

  • elizabeth frasers speaking voice is just as soothing as her singing voice... ahhhhh.

  • This great clip could be considered an historical relic: a piece of Elizabeth's ever-changing hairstyle's timeline. :)

  • so interesting
