Trust me, I've owned both and no matter how careful you are...the old one is a dust, scratch and fingerprint magnet and they look awful in no time. Even a microfibre cloth to wipe dust leaves surface scratches. The slim is much better.

@XxSavotagexX If ur an original 60gb ps3 owner, u will no y people like the old one. this is a big downgraded for them. only 2 USBs, no ps2 compatibility, and no memory card readers. I do like the fact that it is SILENT and runs cooler. The lights on the power and eject buttons make up for the loss of touch sensitivity. I have both a slim and original. original YLODed ;(

Yea, that's pretty much what they did what with removing the PS2 B/C and all. Either way as long as the PS3/PSN games play and that the Blu-ray playback isn't compromised I think it'll do fairly well.
