I saw Lydia in '74 at a little club in CT, (Shabbo, club name, for all you old Eastern CT types) when she was a little skinny blonde girly thing, same voice, just a wee bit older now. Still love her, still screamin' the blues
Back in the 70's I actually saw people almost come to blows arguing who had the better horn section. Cold Blood or Tower of Power. I loved TOP, but Cold Blood had Lydia. She still brings it.
AT THE SACRAMENTO MEMORIAL AUDIToRIUM...... hmmmmmmm when the lightzz went off .. so many LIGHTERZ WENT OFF THAT IT LOOKED LIKE THEY TURNED THE LIGHTZ backON..CANNED HEAT...... COLD BLOOD N U KNOW WHO. MISS LYDIAAA, YAH NOT TO BAD FOR AN EARLY TEENAGER..THEY DONT BULID EM LIKE THIS ANYMORE. THIS CHILD OF GOD CAN BLOWW.......
oh fuck i saw cold blood in the early 70's pense was running around in a teeny bikini with filmy see through cover and dancing in the audience so sad to see what age does
I have an audio CD with music from Cold Blood's album Sisyphus (a 33 & 1/3 rpm album to a cassette to a CD transfer) and a saved picture of the album cover.
I would like to upload some of the pieces to youtube but have not been able to discover how to do that.
I've seen videos on youtube that are just a picture of an album cover and when you open the video, the music plays.
How do I upload a picture and music fron an audio CD to youtube?
Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

I grew up in the Bay area and remember seeing Lydia Pense and Cold Blood at a little club in the Santa Cruz mountains. I also remember a little place in Hayward, I believe it was on Mission Blvd. where I saw Elvin Bishop
I grew up in the Bay Area in the 60's 70's and they would often have Tower of Powers horn section and that was unbelievable. They'd often play at a small little bar on E14st in Hayward and all around the Bay Area but with Tower of Powers horn section that was the best.
I too grew up in the Bay Area around the same time, I remember hearing Tower of Power at Chabot College. Also saw Lydia and cold blood at a little club in the Santa Cruz mountains. There was a little club on Mission Blvd. in Hayward where I saw Elvin Bishop.
the rhythm and horns and funky groove and of course jazz rock blusey vocals make cold blood music timeless. i remember seeing LP and CB about thirty years ago at andrews outdoor amphitheatre on the university of hawaii manoa campus. as hot in this video as they were then. legendary in my book...
Horns;Tom Poole-Trumpet, Billy Slais-Sax, John Farey-Trombone,Max Haskett-Trumpet & vocals. Drums; James Preston -Set, Donny Baldwin-Conga's, Not sure so I won't say on- Timbali's. Guitar-Jeff Tamilier, Bass- Bobby Vega, Organ(B3) Stevie "Keys" Roseman, and Lydia. Cold Blood circa 1989. In my opinion, this is the best band Lydia ever had.....T
Cool! I love Cold Blood! One tight kick ass horn band! A local group here in San Diego used to play this back around 1978. Ck Warren Wiebe on youtube. He is amazing! He was the local singer.
I picked up the boxed set at Tower Records here the week they went out of business. For years I hadn't heard this song - have the LP cover but no LP! Thanks for posting!
Believe it OR not.....Tower Of Power was influenced by this band....Yes people, Cold Blood was doin' it first!!!

DO YOU GUYS REMEMBER "SANDY MCKEE" THE ORIGINAL DRUMMER..I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM..."THE BEST PERIOD".
rjlnell88 11 months ago
@rjlnell88 No one should be able to do what he did.
I have played with a drummer that took lessons from the same guy as Sandy and David G from TOP and Liver from Birtha he must have been a great teacher

@rjlnell88 Yes I saw him from a great center balcony seat at Winterland in SF . They had just released "First Taste of Sin" They killed that night .

One of the best recordings of Cold Blood. Really captures the live performance excitement of the band's heyday in the early 70s!!!

Lydia was never given the pub as Janis or Tina when it came to wailing. But she was definitely up there!
Same thing for the horns. People talked about TOP, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, but they could play with all of them.
