To everyone who complains why people don't die from big blasts at the cockpit, I understand that you people are trying be realistic. Yes, they could have died or at least be in a concussion. But, let's stick to the anime and storyline. If Setsuna died at this scene in Exia or 00, therefore, there would be no Setsuna in the Gundam 00 Movie. And it wouldn't really complete the anime. If Kira Yamato died from Shinn full-on stab, it wouldn't continue the anime. Animes are meant to teach morals.

@NeoUberNinja888 I thought the 00 Qan was built inferior to the 00 Raiser, since it does not have access to the Twin Drive like the 00 Raiser did. The GN Drive of the 0 Gundam was destroyed in this encounter, so the 00 Qan has to rely on two GN Condensors, meaning that its power is limited. It may have the Sword Bits, but I do not think it can quantize like the 00 Raiser can.

the Double 00 Gundam was rebuilt and used in the beggining of the movie, after it was damaged they built the 00 Qunta, the second GN drive was housed in the Shield

hey stupid, read what I said, they rebuilt the 00 Raiser, it had 2 drives in it, when it was damaged it was rebuilt into the 00 Qunta, the 2nd GN Drive was housed in the Shield which also connects to the GN Drive in it's back when using the Quanta Mode, or better yet shit for brains, go watch the movie

@MasterDragonKnight 00 Qan is the best mobile suit CB has... its built better than 00 Raiser... after this battle, 0 Gundam's drive was smashed, but for exia, we are not so sure. During the two year "break" before the war with the ELS in the movie, Ian's wife, Linda and some people went to jupiter to make two brand new GN drives, meanwhile, i assume, Ian was building up on 00 Qan... 00 Qan can quantize using its sword bits...

@phillipe113 Ribbons piloted the 0 Gundam when he was still a part of Celestial Being. Aeon piloted it just prior to this final battle using a GN Condenser when his Condenser ran dry he abandoned it and it began to drift and Ribbons happened upon it and replaced the Condenser with the GN Drive he got from 00

i've come up with alil theory..ribbons and setsuna survied the beam saber attacks because space is really cold. thus dropping the heat far enough down for a person to withstand but still be able to see marks. i dont know it just seems that way to me.

as for ur first point, its not really a matter

a fake gn drive is almost as powerful as a true one, if not more. and ribbons had a more advance version of using both drives to the max. a fake gn drive ONLY disadvantage is lack of infinite energy, they need to be recharged. other than that, it is almost the same as a true one. as for the second, exia is "his" gundam, so if u gave him a worse one than ribbons, wont the show looks not as epic? so all in all, its just for the looks haha

Indeed, I questioned it as well but here, a beam saber sliced through BOTH of these cockpits. Melting, damn near close to his face, Setsunas cockpit as well as Ribbons.

It could be the armor from the suits absorbing most of the heat. Instead of a blast to the face. A NUCLEAR blast at that.

You are right but Beam saber in 00 is like a normal sword with blade replaced by particles and I am not sure if it depends on heat for slicing(UC and CE beam sabers depends on heat).I think that I am wrong because the cockpit is burning red when it got sliced.

Well, the better question is "how do you get it back?" Ptolemy's never shown the ability to tow in anything. Without power or a suit to devote to retrieval, they can't exactly get it back.

Besides, there was no conceivable way they could figure someone was gonna come around with 0 Gundam's Solar Furnace and a Mobile Suit with enough power left to install the damned thing.

The real Fridge Logic comes when you try to figure out how Setsuna managed to install Exia's GN Drive..

The gundams probally have a small internal battery for short time op. yes we know Ian said they dont have a spare drive for the exia R2, but imo they have some kind of internal power supply of some sort.

Well I'm pretty sure that the 0 Gundam ran out of energy and could no longer move, so Lasse had to abandon it or risk getting killed by the Gagas. And everyone else was preoccupied with their individual battles to take the 0 Gundam back to Ptolemy II. With no one tending to the 0 Gundam, it kinda just drifted out, pretty much right in Ribbons way. But that's just an observation, who knows, maybe Celestial Being did decide to just leave it there...

It's cause the 4 original Gundams Exia, Virtue, Dynames and Kyrios had O shaped rings in their GN drives. When the Exia released the locks the particles got expelled through the circle on the drive thus creating the Rings. Also it could be because it did take the GN drive from the 00 which use modified GN Drives from the the Exia and the O.
