i used to hate my lefty strat and wanted a gibson, but i realized i need to appreciate what i have, and i appreciate it, because one day i might not have a penny to my name and have a few things and they are my guitar, a house, and a bed, with some money for food. chas ve shalom that happens
I own pre cbs 63 and 64 and 65 strats, and many others ones like fullerton reissue, thanks for all Leo and your friends, working with you in the 60'S You re a part of my life
hi my name is robert i love the fender strat guitar they are so very awsom and i wish i could have a copy of this video??? god bless you leo fender for making a legendary guitar for us guitar heads to enjoy ! yours truley robert. pala
Great history, enjoyed looking at his workplace. We have the pickup switching method Leo Fender would have wanted to use. Your friends at 35GuitarPickupTones{dot}com
although people love les paul and his guitars much more than leo fender and his telecaster and stratocaster. i must say that fender was the true legend here in his success of all his guitars we still play today. i dont really find les paul guitars history tbh. but we must all thank leo fender for his great guitars and his success.
Does anyone know if the bridge from the Comanche around 2:11 was ever used in a released design? It looks like a dual fulcrum vibrato with sockits to put the tremolo arm either above or below the bridge, depending on your preference. Very interesting...
As already mentioned, this is the Lab at his G&L Factory. He died 1991, but sold "Fender Musical Intruments" in 1965, that's 26 Years before he died.
At the Fender factory they reserved an office for Leo, but George Fullerton, the guy with whom he founden G&L wrote in his book, Leo never put one foot in that office.
I heard the Leo's ghost still wanders the halls of this factory (It used to be the Fender guitars factory). Strange noises and sightings have been reported.
hah... he was a planters junky.... his guitars are seriously bad-ass... i wonder if there are workers that still work for fender since the pre CBS days....
So humbling...

I'm proud to own 4 G&L guitars made in the same building as Leo's lab (one even made there while Leo was still alive!) ...Great video!

Such a great man and apparently loved by his employees. The guitar and basses left in this lab must be quite special in their own right. RIP CLF

that's not true. Lots of people like strats and fenders better than gibson. like me, i'd rather have a fender

Simply the BEST solid body basses and guitars, built by Leo Fender, in the pre CBS Fender days. These instuments could not be better!

It looks like the maid had been out of town when Leo past away. Very spooky, almost tomb like, but still very cool to see this time capsule. Thanks
