Few more quick points - one is the other 5 boats in the flotilla did not attack soldiers and no one was killed. The boats were directed into the port of Ashdod peacefully. This one was the only violent attack by the passengers (and not all, but a group of ~50).

There were 10 tons of goods for Gaza brought by the flotilla. 18 tons are moved by Israel into Gaza weekly, so 10 tons were not going to solve any shortfall.

Rachel Corrie arrived and again was a peaceful handoff.

Israel's move was not piracy. It had to check the flotilla because boats were used in the past to bring weapons and even missiles to the Gaza strip to bomb civilians in Israel. The soldiers had paintball guns because they didnt want to hurt anybody. Once the "activists" attacked them with knives and metal poles and beat up the soldiers to near death, only then did the soldiers fight back in order to save their lives. Anyone else in this situation would have done the same thing, only sooner.

Sorry, but once the captians of the flotilla ship declared to the Israel Navy that they were going to violate the Israel/Egyptian blockade, Israel had the right under international maritime law to intercept the flotilla in or out of international waters.

The blockade is in place legally, justly and for good reason. Violating it ,whether with military or civilian ships is an act of war.

Paint ball guns and less lethal guns, and handguns as secondary weapon which is standard by any police and military. There's aid going to Gaza via Israel on a daily basis, but many ignore that fact. Check the history about Karine- A and the Santorini and other boats carrying weapon to Gaza and you'll understand why there's a blockade. I don't consider bullet prof vest carried by the ship as humanitarian aid, or the gas masks they had.

International law? Israel could try to justify this invasion as "Part of their Customs rights" but only within 23Miles from their shores, these ships where out over 40Miles. It is a clear act of piracy.

Article 110 of International Law (1982) set out by the UN proclaim this as an Act of pircay.

I am open minded, please show me the statute, or article number that shows that Israel was within their rights.
