It's very ironic that the loca "charachter" is actually dying a slow death in a way because her popularity is declining. One of the biggest reasons is because it is such a restricted character. The actress is very fair skinned and would burn if she tanned. Therefore the production must be in b/w or sepia and if she were to use a spray on tan the people would accuse her of "black face" even more.
Other issues are that she really can't get out and interact with people because of her limitations unless everything and everyone she encountered was also in b/w. No color works well in a Vlog presentation but not in outside shots with lots of moving scenes unless you have some very very expensive cameras. Loca is very polarizing, and will only appeal to a very limited audience. Either you hate her or love her there is no in between, the problem is there are thousands of people in between.
Ms Ryan is more marketable, talented, does a great job with less help than Ms Donovan (LisaNova on MADTV). It's very ironic that the loca "charachter" is actually dying a slow death in a way because her popularity is declining. One of the biggest reasons is because it is such a restricted character. The actress is very fair skinned and would burn if she tanned. Therefore the production must be in b/w or sepia and if she were to use a spray on tan the people would accuse her of "black face" even more.

Other issues are that she really can't get out and interact with people because of her limitations unless everything and everyone she encountered was also in b/w. No color works well in a Vlog presentation but not in outside shots with lots of moving scenes unless you have some very very expensive cameras. Loca is very polarizing, and will only appeal to a very limited audience. Either you hate her or love her there is no in between, the problem is there are thousands of people in between.

Ms Ryan is more marketable, talented, does a great job with less help than Ms Donovan (LisaNova on MADTV). Difference is that LN does sketch/situation comedy not just her alone in a room with a camera. People like seeing how characters react/interact with others. Loca's vids with Crispin Glover got many more views than ones with just her alone. Same as LG15 they added characters & situations to maintain/increase opularity. Sadly with loca's restrictions she's metaphorically dying a slow death.

I meant the look of the stereotype. The way she talks too, it's not half as bad as what I've seen definently, but seriously she could learn a lot from some basic makeup concepts. At least then her makeup wouldn't overwhelm the stereotype, and the way she talks might be completely unnoticable. It's just like goth people.
