hi was wondering if you could help me? when i change the setting to "colour" and use black or white they only goes as dark or light as grey even though they are selected to pure black or pure white on the colour selection box any tips on how to make it appear as pure black or white?
@mroneniceguy the way I do it is to first adjust the highlights midtones and shadows then I go back and screen the original image back over the adjusted image
I just finished adjusting in the Lab mode, and when I went to switch over to RGB mode, it tells me "Changing modes will discard an adjustment layer, change mode anyway?" choices are flatten/cancel/or oaky? is it supposed to flatten image or not? Does any one else get this message? It just may as well just carry over to RGB mode = flattened image eh? =)
@Naturally00Me Don't flatten -- it's a very very rare occasion that not flattening will cause problems (some semi-transparent layers can alter their colours very slightly, for instance). 99% of the time you just just switch with no problems.
Hey you said you would make more video like these (photo enhancement) but I don't see them. Please make more. I would like to learn other techniques photographer use to enhance there photos. ie jessica claire
thanks a lot, i really liked this tutorial, great explanation of how things work in terms i can actually understand. Just one question though, is there any draw back to finding the black and white points before doing the color correction in Lab Color, or is there a particular reason why you did the black and white points last?
@jrodriguez4820 It's actually better to do black/white points first, so if you choose a non-neutral colour they won't affect your colour correction. Your way is better!
Is there a reason you chose not to sharpen in LAB mode as opposed to RBG? I'm just starting to use LAB mode, so I'd like to know if there's a difference.
@RainbowCproductions If you've hit 'okay' in the Levels Dialogue Box in Lab Colour Mode, the settings will carry over to RGB mode. You won't lose any colour correction!
Love these kind of tutorials! Well done. Everyone has a different way of reaching the same goal and it's great to be able to see different methods people prefer and learn why that works for them.
Thanks I recently started to use photoshop. I have been using canon digital photo professional. This helped with my time on each image, thanks I will look for more from you,,,,,much appreciated.
great tutor thanks! hey do you or anybody know how to get rid of "sharpening halo"? it happens when you over-sharpened a picture then it has this glowing edges around the object.
Thanks. Been using PS for a long time, but I learned a lot from watching this. I also use 0.7 pixels in USM but I will go a lot higher, up to 200% and a threshold of 2 when I want to maintain skin tones.
You may think that you are not helping, but I am learning so much. I received PS as a gift and thank you so much for doing these tutorials. Your explanations have really helped, Keep it up PLEASE!
