I miss this game, the ability to actually make your own campaigns was an absolute blast. Idk why nobody else has done that, is a simple but in-deph scenario editor really too much to ask for?
A masterpiece like this is not possible without creating it in 1990's world... sadly it will remain the best game forever and there will be no other experience like this.
@DartLuke It include Resistance. The Russian voices and Red Hammer campaign are not included, however. To get those you'll have to take OFP's VoiceRH.pbo addon file, and redhammer.pbo campaign file, and run them with OFP. I run them like a mod, @RedHammer.
I love this game, best war sim I ever played. Buty in honesty, Dragon rising was not "that" bad. Yes it don't hold a candle to this game, it had problems and had not the same freedom as this game, but I still enjoyed it. Red river tho..yeah it can go to hell.
One of my favorite mission in this game must be the one when you are stranded and need to get back to your unit, that is so intense! You need to think and act quick, without relying on your gun to kill everything.

do you people know that BIS and Codemasters were making ofp2 many years ago,but codemasters leaved BIS without money and took their graphics engine. That's why wrote crappy graphics engine and released ArmA to make some money to real finished game- ArmA II. Basicaly ArmA is an alpha version of ArmA II. I have somewhere screenshot of early ofp2 work. If some of you are interested ask me a link.
I didn't expect OFP2 to be good because I knew Codemasters don't have experience on FPS games, Bohemia Interactive made the game OFp and codemasters just published it and reserved name rights while Bohemia made correct sequels ArmA I and II. OFP2 was a different totally kind of game. For me it's like this -

KONAMI - Football. EA was great but they screwed us on PC.
2K - NBA
Activision - FPS
EA - best 2003-2007 NFS, Battlefield, Crysis, FIFA, C&C Generals and 3. :)
I remember that mission. So Damn hard. So Realistic. Fighting for survival. I quit the game after that but made a comeback and beat that mission and then got stuck on a mission where you gotta destroy 2 Shilkas and sum battalion of Russian Soldiers.
arma2 is good too, but i dont have the same butterfly in the stomach feeling

OFP was (and is) one of the best games I ever played, ArmA was (and is) a little crapy, but with some good mods it's nice. ArmA2 - IMHO it should be the real OFP2 not this fucking shit what Codemasters made :( ArmA 2 is dignified successor of OFP, 'cuz it's very well game, just like OFP, but OFP2 it's piece of crap!
@TuskenRaider80 Well I playin' ArmA on high settings with 40-50 FPS and ArmA2 on mix of medium and low with 30-40 FPS. So it izn't too bad, but sometimes game has got dead lines and FPS going down to 15FPS, but ArmA2 and OFP is one of my best games! :)
@bazio19 yea arrowhead was kinda the same, but it might be my memory, only with 3gb and 1,2 mostly reserved for windows, since the fps just slows down, goes all smooth the first 30min..
@TuskenRaider80 Well, OFP and ArmA series has got hard engine :\ I playing OFP with medium settings and sometimes FPS really slows down. It's just hard engine. ArmA2 should has got new engine, but it's just hardly modified one from OFP and ArmA.
@bazio19 cant blame it for being 10 years old ;) its actually a very good engine since it supports physics (thinking of the good old ofp barrels) and a map containing millions of objects without crashing.

Ehhh... Memories... Just got OFP: DR but, to be honest, the old Operation Flashpoint of Bohemia is something you can't forget... I'm installing this game now - after 5 years will try my luck once again - I love OFP - the old one, the best one. Hope Bohemia will do this game once again on new engine.
Codemasters and Bohemia need to get back together and make OFP3. I mean OFP2 is great and ArmA2 too, but they aint the whole package...
OFP1 had one of the most tense atmospheres in gaming to me and the story was realy one of the very few that drew me in in FPSs.
ArmA2 and OFP2:DR both have meh atmosphere (you always know who you are fighting, your never the underdog, no world ending crisis that could start if you dont complete the mission) and an even meh-er story...
campain + mission editor sucks. runing animation sucks. you cant look around you head only. okay, graphics are better and so on but other than that. i mean weapons looks fucked up when you're holding them in 1st person and while sprinting it looks even worse. you don't put your weapon up in the fucking face when you're running. seriously. ArmA 2 <3
this song brings me back to old times in 2001 when i was landing for the first time with my CO and the rest of the guys like fowley and kowalski going into battle straight outta training into the hot zone against t72s!!!! Ambush around every corner. WOW !
hahahahah that forest mission, im glad i still have it as MP COOP playable means i can replay that map with players that still play online mp XD. But not many do anymore and all thats left are people who cracked the game and dickheads who type absolute BS on there. I have the last remaining maps of OFP before the community died out.
Took me ages to complete that mission where you´re all by yourself!! Then I thought "Hmm.. I´m all alone.. perhaps I should try a sneaky sneaky tactic.." Epic mission!

yeah i still cant work out those scripts, like the only thing i can manage to do is make someone sit on a chair, and make another squad carry out an order when i radio them.
but even without scripts you cant still make really good missions, its a shame that the new ones(arma2 ofp 2) seem to be geared towards more casual players, instead of original fans.
well i had ofp since 2002 actually i know pretty much alot about the mission editor its really easy to make a great mission. These days tho i forgot what scripts to put in and i get lazy making missions but the basics r still in my head quite a fantastic game for those who have imagination too
ALERT : The real sequel to OFP is ArmA 2. OFP 2: will sadly not be as good from what I have seen. Its only the name, the guys who actually made OFP make ArmA 2.

I agree. Actually i would rather them make the original flashpoint again on the new engine, rather than continue making new ones.

i always remember this mission when we went on patrol in the forests with the black dude, and all my teammates got raped by a couple opfors.
And the mission when your alone in the forest, wow that was amazing!

hahahahah that forest mission, im glad i still have it as MP COOP playable means i can replay that map with players that still play online mp XD. But not many do anymore and all thats left are people who cracked the game and dickheads who type absolute BS on there. I have the last remaining maps of OFP before the community died out.

yeah i still cant work out those scripts, like the only thing i can manage to do is make someone sit on a chair, and make another squad carry out an order when i radio them.
but even without scripts you cant still make really good missions, its a shame that the new ones(arma2 ofp 2) seem to be geared towards more casual players, instead of original fans.

well i had ofp since 2002 actually i know pretty much alot about the mission editor its really easy to make a great mission. These days tho i forgot what scripts to put in and i get lazy making missions but the basics r still in my head quite a fantastic game for those who have imagination too

ALERT : The real sequel to OFP is ArmA 2. OFP 2: will sadly not be as good from what I have seen. Its only the name, the guys who actually made OFP make ArmA 2.
