Just to clear some stuff up, a lot of shows that America has 'stolen' were in fact pitched to America form their original British producers. While have to agree that nearly every US spinoff kind of sucks, Skins especially, America didn't 'steal' many of them.

On the other hand, you could try being a little proud that another country liked the show so much they wanted to make it for their country in a way that their citizens could relate to it.
