@nasty5oh It was also neat to hear Jim pick, and it was funny to hear him say (before we switched banjos) he said, "Well, let me see pick that ol' rascal!" Haha.
@Dpkll5 Amen! Jim's "in-person" sound is monstrous! He played my '79 Gold Star archtop (he's not a big fan of archtops) but he liked the tone for a banjo of that age and he really liked it. His 1930 TB-1 Gibson he brought when I met him had amazing tone as well.
Whenever Jim plays, it captivates me and all the others around it, and we all mostly love the old prewar sound.
@nasty5oh Oh, yes he can! I met him for the very first time this past weekend (as of 6/3/11) at the Midwest Banjo Camp in Olivet, MI. Jim and I stay in touch over the phone and through email, but this was the first time I met him in person. I brought my banjo, which is an old 1979 Gold Star archtop, and he made that banjo ring, and my gosh, that banjo never sounded so good until Jim picked it up. I was at a loss for words, and that banjo had never sounded that good before.
He makes that RB3 talk don't he! I would like to see more videos like this aswell

@Dpkll5 I agree. It sounded much better in person. But it's not bad for a hundred dollar video camera.
