Antonio Sánchez y el negro Hernandez no tienen nada que ver... El Negro es especialista en poliritmias con clave y la mayoría de su trabajo lo demuestra. Antonio Sánchez utiliza la clave pero sólo como un recurso pues él mismo ha dicho que no todo el tiempo la usa... Antonio fusiona muchos elementos de jazz, afrocubano y latin, asi que en estilo y concepción musical son diferentes. Personalmente prefiero a Antonio, mucho más melódico y desarrolla más motivos e ideas.

He came to my school with Donny Macaslin and Ben Monder last September and did a master class. Never have I heard anyone with such good time feel. Then he was asked how he practiced to get there and he said that he practiced with a metronome starting with one beat every four bars and eventually worked by counting himself in and timing himself with a watch playing around 400 bars and seeing if the BPM lined up. He is incredible.

Saw him with Pat Metheny. He was absolutely awesome. Unbelievable precision, stamina and comfort with odd time signatures and his kit sound is wonderful! He makes it all look so easy but we know its not. They played "The Way Up" Sanchez starts it. Check out the beginning.
