Last year I was so lucky to have heard this song live twice during the 360 Tour. I couldn't believe how great it sounded. Bono's voice was incredible. The first time I held my breath when he was about to sing Pavarotti's part, afraid that maybe he wouldn''t be able to sing the high notes, but he did. It was an unforgettable experience, which I still cherish.

I was a "peacekeeping soldier" for SFOR in the 1990's. I have seen abolutely terrible things there and all that horror and pain that I saw is in Bono's voice in this song. I was at U2's concert on Sarajevo Stadium on 230997 - one of the greatest moments in my 49 year old life. When I listen to this song today I start to cry remembering how bad things people can do to each other. PLEASE - stop all wars - and thank you so much to the Greates Band in the World - U2 !

Thank you Bono for being a good friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina,to encourage people and give to them a strenght and will to get over the war,and for that ,just for one night forget about all problems they have.I hope that U2 will come to Bosnia and Herzegovina for just one more time !

the 360 tour has to be something like this. there's no need for long speeches touting human rights. bono needs to make remarks before singing a few specific songs while the rest of the band plays a nice intro.

also, they need to play THIS song during the 360 tour. just imagine the joyful noise that will fill the stadium as bono hits that magical note during pavarotti's part.

If I remember properly, a UN contingent of soldiers was playing a group of Serbians soldiers. They were supposed to be playing sports to have fun. I do not know why they chose rugby. The two teams just ended up beating each other up the whole time. Maybe they should have chosen soccer instead.

We must remember too - everything in context. He sings this Pavarotti part with such intense emotion and power AFTER having played a year of rock concerts. His voice should be completely shot through but it holds beautifully. Also, he is singing in Italian and we Irish aren't known for our ability with languages!
