If I'm not mistaken (i watched video which showed the same scene only it stoped a little later) then the face was untoched and you can see in here that there isn't any blood on neck. She couldn't die from blood loss because it would happen much slower.. So i guess Shion hit some vital spot and Satoko died... (I'm not a doctor and i don't know a thing about medicine so it is only my opinion)

Shion is all crazy and stuff because she was in love with Satoshi (guy on the phone, and Satoko's big bro) but he disappeared, and Shion believes he was murdered by the other members of their village and is killing them to avenge his death.
