i was living in reykjavik for 3 years, and just recently moved back to america. its a peaceful country. the people are nice, yet reserved, but if you make the effort to learn their language and culture, youre welcomed with open arms. its a good place, i have 2 kids who are being raised in iceland, and wouldnt have it any other way. svooo... ég elska ísland svo mikið! þetta er æðislegt! ÁFRAM ÍSLAND!!!!

Pros & Cons of Iceland.

PROS:

1- Amazing scenery, great for nature lovers.

2-Safe country, no criminal activity at all, only a few drunken brawls.

3- Complete hygiene. Streets are extra clean and tidy.

CONS:

1- Accomodation, eating & drinking extremely expensive.

2- Harsh weather. Summertime is the best season.

3- People there are hard to describe. Quiet and polite, but they look a bit dumb when you talk to them....as if they were peasants newly arrived in the city.

Yes, true, they taught me how to say "Fardu í rassgat". I didn´t know it, but I suppose you´re smart enough to know what it means.

I'm smart enough to know how to look it up. ;) I'm also smart enough to know they aren't stupid. You'll get that look a lot from people who speak English as a second language if they don't understand what you're saying. Heck, you'll get that look from people who speak it as a first language if they aren't used to your accent. When someone approaches you speaking Chinese a thousand words a minute I bet you look a bit stupified as well.

I was in Reykjavik for 1 week and this country is peaceful but boring.

1.- Iceland is a perfect option provided you want to forget disturbance

2.-You will be dissapointed if you expect a great nightlife.
