0:28 it looked like the air hoswe wasn't connected betwen the second box car and the first woodrack. But with the air powered EOT on the rear whinning it had to have air.
@thysis there are more trees in Oregon now than there ever has been in the past, since logging was stopped for the majority in the early 90's.. why do you think we have forest fires over a million acres now?
It's a rare thing to see an Alaska Unit in the "Lower 48s", or more specifically in Oregon. but it could happen if there is a line connectig Alaska with the "Lower 48tsgoing trough Canada or it might have been shipped by Sea. I got many good memories in pictures of the Alaska Railroads in Fairbanks with Tanker Trains going trough the Fort Wainwright military Base, and also the McKinley Explorer in HO scale Models.
I love the sound of them train whistles but if i was out golfing...that could throw me off. When i lived in South Beach tho, i had the fog horns of the cruise ships going all the time when they came in and outta port. I was up on the 25th floor and would just sit there all day on a Saturday watching them come in and out enjoying the horns
That's a lot of timber! Perhaps bound for Ptld to be shipped to Japan, or maybe the Longview mill across the river in WA? Doesn't appear anyone was made late for a tee-time. Saw no one waiting to cross over to the club house. These engineers ought to know you by sight, if not name, by now. :-)
Damn, people got pissed off at me when I cut down one tree on my property that was growing into my sewer line. If those people saw this they would blow a gasket.
Is this the same Golf Club as your previous videos... damn if an conductor and/or engineer gets hit in the head, there will be problems if he doesn't wake up before a fork in the tracks...
The main south of Salem (Where this is) is 25 mph. Prior to getting to Minto (just up the track from here,) the speed limit drops to 10 mph through Salem to the North side of Bush, hence why he is coming in with dynamics.

I cant sleep so: 4 locomotives, 56 carriages and only the first four had no tree logs...
... lesson learned/t, counting train carriages actually wakes you up even more, going back to my sheep otherwise I'll be late to work in the morning.
Nice vid.
