  • Well; this chick is monster; she takes her ployrythms on and on, something thats not very easy. Sounds very good, well played.

  • Loving it

    Stay blessed

  • I found her bouncing pony tail distracting, but she SO made up for it by being such an incredible drummer and singer. Five stars.

  • It's simple: this can't stop me to my "humps" (and the rest of my body) :-)

  • This is tight!

I wish you could check out my drum too. *grin*

We play the drum circle in DC at Malcolm X park NW DC every sunday.

I'm still learning and now I'm leading the circle.

Many greetings from munich/gérmany - from the drummers of the englisch garden... Oliver - soon i upload my video from us ;-)

  • hermosos sonido

    felicitaciones

  • Well done. Very clean, beautiful stuff. Reall wish tie your hair back and looked up more though. :o)

  • favorite is where it's goin' quality music?... it's about quality living! i would say.... behind your pee see... yo disagree

  • soooooooooooooo cooooooooooool.

very traditional. it's going my favorite.

  • Great drumming and singing. I love the energy.

  • I humbly disagree DrHolly that this is not quality drumming. I have no idea whom Muntu is however but, hey the Bass line is fat and the heart is there. Drumming isn't always an intellectual exercise. Keep going Chicago and always yearn to raise your level.

  • IMHO, this is very intellectual drumming. She is very, very good! The sounds she is producing are crisp, clear, and professional. It takes a great deal of practice and refinement to get slaps and finger rolls as crisp, clear, and precisely executed as hers. Not only that but her djembe is very nicely tuned, which also shows knowledge and skill. A+!

  • about those djembes: I put the skins on both of them expressly for Famoudou Konate, and these are the drums he played on the North American tour that year. In this video, they're a bit high for his tastes--because of the sun.

  • @chicagodjembeproject Would the sun not heat up the skins, expanding them and thus causing a lower sound rather than high?

  • @DjembeDjam The sun dries the skin causing it to shrink and tighten, just like your skin when you spend too much time in the sun. That is to say that the goat skin on the djembe holds moisture, just like any other skin. So the sun or fire or any other dry heat source will tighten a skin slightly by causing the moisture to evaporate. If you wet the skin or leave it to soak in water,it becomes rubbery/soft. Metal expands, while skin contracts, when heated.
