I Know a lot of people don't like Yoko Ono,But I don't think She is stupid. Her wealth is would floor You.I don't know how much She and her family have about as much as Paul McCartney. So She is probably not very stupid.John knew what he was doing when he Married Yoko!
As an old fart, who watched the demise of the dinosaurs, (lol) I thank you for this well produced, and thoughtful presentation of truth about the Beatles.
I liked this video! Beatlemania, has never and will never die, for all of us who have been there since 1963, these were 4 men who gave joy and love to the world through music. Would The Beatles have gotten together again? Yes!, because in the end of it all they would end up missing each other and would have done so for fun! But!!! Satan! made sure on Dec 8, 1980 this would never happen, he would not tolerate love and joy to given to the world again!!!
Let us long remember Michael Jackson's crucified nose. He had the money to deface one protuberance and he picked his nose. Long live Tito! The late Michael Jackson lacked the upper & lower body strength to tote 25-cubic-foot refrigerators. The maximum number of standard 3.3 pound red bricks he could carry was seven.
I do love John but there's no way that you can agree with that. You spend your whole life with your family. And I truly hope that my closest and dearest two friends stay with me to the end. So what's ten years? You don't have to split up forever..
Beatlemania never died. it will live on forever. think of it this way...this band goes beyond standing the test of time...they transcend time itself. they haven't appeared together since august-1969 and 42 years later...let me repeat that....42 years later they still top the charts in annual gross product sales, top 100 whatever polls, and their song "in my life" consistenly ranks as the greatest single song ever written.
I think is a good video because the four Jhon,Paul,George and Ringo are talking with his heart because was humans not gods .I love the Beatles yesterday, now and forever.
I wish that every person on this site that blames their break-up on Yoko would watch this video. Non musicians just don't understand. They don't have the same environment to work in.
I wonder if John Lennon, when he first started this band, thought about the possibility that 40 years later people would still call them the best there was.
As a Boomer, I've listened to a lot of rock/pop music, both "classic rock" and everything that is currently produced. I still say that "Abbey Road" is the greatest album ever made, not for any great innovation, but for sheer excellence and enjoyment.
With Beatles in mind, I've posted the video, "40 years in 3 minutes" -- a music video containing the Beatles' rooftop performance and historical events all cut tightly to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Hope you enjoy!
"It's just a rock band that split up. It is nothing important." The abso-bloody-lutely best example of Cognitive Dissonance I've EVER seen. Imagine (pun intended) Michaelangelo saying after a fire in the Sistine Chapel: "It is just a giant piece of GRAFFITI. It is nothing important." He probably spent the following 10 years repeating that trying to convince himself. I don't think he convinced anybody else.
@sameilert Ok...think about yourself when you were 10...now think about yourself when you were 20 (or if you're younger, your age now)...did you change? Were things that were important to you differ in those years? John, Paul and George were going their separate ways musically and the whole Beatles thing was stifling that in a big way, they needed to get out. To me, John's quote was more trying to calm the fans, to point out the fact that their worlds hadn't in fact ended because of this.
Like a Beatle song said: Let it Be...To be honest, even as a Beatle fan, i dont (even if it was possible) want a Beatles reunion because from a Legendary and mystical Band from the 60's that revolutionized the World...if they reunited even with both Lennon and Harrison...The Magic would be gone and they would be remembered as a band of old has beens that past their prime and i believe no fan once that so for better and worse im glad the Beatles ended the right way in the end of the 60's :)
I'm more than sure if John Lennon and George Harrison was alive, The Beatles would have gotten back together a long time ago. They all look so devastated talking about the past )=
I overheard someone in a shopping mall the other afternoon asking someone if they're getting back together. Too insane to make up. Some living, breathing human vacuum voiced this. Un-fucking-real. Stupid is a global plague. And it is rampant.
The footage of them at the end is actually the last video of the 4 Beatles together(Filmed by Linda). The photo sessions from that same day are also the last photos of the 4 of them together. Anyone who says "yoko broke up the beatles" NEEDS to see the Anthology videos and read the Anthology book. George matured far beyond his age, Ringo was becoming an Actor, John was in Love, and Paul probably would've kept it going longer than the others. The Beatles broke up The Beatles. period.
@edwads74 In general aspects the beatles wouldve lasted longer if brian epstein hadn't died after Sgt. Pepper's. He wasn't just a manager but a mediator between them. That's why he was a fifth beatle.
@Firecloud500 Yea, that would've probably added some years.. Truth is, When Brian died, they were already not seeking his counsel as much. I think the most important factor was probably Paul being pushy about playing live and putting out albums. He was accused of being too controlling, and Brian would've eased that. John probably would've been happy to take 4-5 years off and then come back to the Beatles. But Paul wanted an album or 2 every year, and a movie every year. He liked working.
@sonic10158 ...they put the tapes for let it be on the shelf because of the intensity of the whole process.it wasn't until the end that they pulled the tapes down and gave them to phil spector to try and work some magic.
there has always been mixed emotions on the outcome and that was why they released Let it Be Naked,to show how the original tapes were done.if you ever get a chance to see the full length Let it Be,and I wish the powers that be would finally do so,you see a band crumbling.
@sonic10158 because the Beatles had major problems with Let It Be. They hated the filming experience and they were unsatisfied with a lot of the tracks. It was remastered several times before they were willing to let it be released.
okay honestly do you all think one person could break up what those four guys had together? really? i mean come on. even paul has said it himself that yoko didnt break them up. you need to learn the facts before you accuse
the saddest thing about this video is that we'll never see anything like the beatles again. it can't happen, it never will happen. thank God we had them for 10 years.
They are so good! Beyond words! They are like the obelisk and the pyramids. A monument that will always vibrate in the universe long after we're gone.
Of all four, I think Ringo would have loved for it to go on forever. Paul too, to a point, until he got fed up in the end with trying to hold it all together himself while John and George clearly wanted out.
@TubeGunner Im really sure John wanted out as per his statement, " Its just a rock band " ! I do think however, that Paul, George and Ringo would of stayed on, on a limited basis, for several more years. Sorry for the music we missed, but.. grateful for the music we have !! PEACE...
@mrstevehartman It's too bad they didn't go longer, but it wasn't meant to be. John definitely wanted out, and even if not, I think the only way George would have stayed on much longer would have been if it was on a limited once in a while basis, ala The Who later on. George stated himself that he was unhappy in the later years due to his songs not being recorded enough, and also Paul's treatment of him. In the last years he was much happier playing with others outside the Beatles.
@TubeGunner Yeah, George was limited to two of his songs per album if my memory is correct. I dont know if that was just Pauls decision or not. However, they were a band and not individual artists ( yet ). Very few songs were not a shared effort by P & J, with G & R tossing in a line or idea here and there. Its amazing that some bands, The Stones for instance, have been playing for a great many years. Too bad the Lads couldnt of just taken a break and given it a re-try, say 1971 or so !!
This makes me sad one of the biggest bands of all time, think about it they where the biggest band in history and will remain the one of the biggest. When you see something go that you love it destroys you. But as they say and in thye end the love you take is equal to the love you make.
Do you know where I can find the videos of their last photoshoot? You know, the one from 5:30. I've got the images, but I've never seen that footage. Anyone?
hoy a la distancia de una hermosa época, creo que Los betles siguen viviendo y cantando en nuestras mentes y corazones, ninguno hoy es un ex Beatle, siempre seran Los Beatles, un Beatle, vivo o muerto
@niborant please do not mention a person who does not in anyway possibly possible even get close to almost close to the beatles....the beatles were the best and better than justin beiber....justin bieber is auto tune...and he cant sing.....the beatles can sing and play well...so please dont mention sum faggot on the gods of rock n rolls video
@niborant really? why here? why here when the beatles are talking of their last moments together and you mention beiber?! wtf! can you name any of his "songs" that compare to please please me, help, come together, a hard day's night, or get back? no, thought so.
@1408666777 You are wrong my friend. It was Get Back the last song they played in concert. They played that song two times in the rooftop concert, and the second time was for fnishing that perfomance.
there are always the best on every thing, like michael jordan to basquet ball, airton sena to formula1,mohamed ali for boxing,so is the beatles to rock and roll.
John said,"It's not important, we were just a rock band.." Gotta disagree-they really saved many people from despair over President Kennedys' death. I was there-I remember the joy, and the joy continues. Of course, it had to end, but to act like the Beatles were just a rock band? No, they were MUCH more.
I love how John says it's not important, it's just a rock band, you can listen to the records. OMG, JUST a rock band! It's a living, breathing entity, there's a Beatle Gene, you either have it or you don't. I wonder if he ever came to realize HOW important The Beatles are, they are 4 of the most important people who ever lived, call me insane, but I really believe that. Beatle Fans hang on their every word. Beatles Forever & Ever
You are right about all of it. Once in a generation this marvellous beast comes into view- the film jumps from black and white to colour... everything from music, clothes, hair, attitudes spins around. You were lucky to live in that time of Beatles. Having said that, Le It Be is a rather depressing film about four guys who are trying hard- the best bit of magic they brought to the music then was funky brother Billy Preston- he helps them .
@HeartInThe60s Well stated. Having watched the entire Anthology series five times + bits and pieces more times than I can count, I completely agree with you. The Anthology project as a whole is an extraordinary documentation of these legends and will serve for generations to come to answer questions we all have. If you are a Beatle fan and you have not seen the anthology volumes, I emplore you to watch them all - often!
@HeartInThe60s John was suffering from textbook case of Cognitive Dissonance. Best one I have ever seen. This is like Michelangelo saying: "The Sistine Chapel is just one giant piece of graffiti."
Greatest band ever. Period. But hey baby boomers, we must also realize we were fortunate and privileged to have been alive and young when they were at the top. We are part of them as well as they are part of our lives. Yes, because although they may not exist physically as a group, they are alive in our memories and youth experiences. And that is worth a fortune.
@billace90 Thank you. I was 16 when they showed up on the radar. JFK had just been murdered. The Beatles were the hope of our generation. They brought joy back into our lives. They changed everything.
Here's a thought. In those days we expected an album a year and in 1969/70 a lot of bands exploded. Now, some bands take 3 or 4 years off and are still 'brands'. Supposing the Beatles could have taken 4 years off and then done the next album.
It was somehow more than simply music, the beatles are a way of life, they bring joy and happiness to people and allow people to remissness. And of course, they were one hell of a band. I only wish I had been around in the 60's to experience it.
Malcolm McDowell said in the video "The Compleat Beatles" of 1982 : "Let it be" was the swansong of the Beatles. It had to be accepted: The Beatles, the greatest pop group of all times, were no more. A phennomina of the sixties. In the seventies and beyond was only to feel their influence:" That's it. I cannot say it in better words. There were many good songs since 1970, but nor a singer neither a pop group could top the Beatles.
I love what Paul said how that their songs were all about peace and love, and how songs now a days are all about violence, sex, and drugs... well I am a Walrus... could have... nah!
Hey everybody who loves drums!!!!! check out a video on my profile called Greatest 60 Drums of Rock n Roll, pleeeeease I need some comments n feedback.....thanks

@1408666777 You are wrong my friend. It was Get Back the last song they played in concert. They played that song two times in the rooftop concert, and the second time was for fnishing that perfomance.

It may have been the end of the four as the best rock band, but they and their music will be eternal. And that's what's important.

John said,"It's not important, we were just a rock band.." Gotta disagree-they really saved many people from despair over President Kennedys' death. I was there-I remember the joy, and the joy continues. Of course, it had to end, but to act like the Beatles were just a rock band? No, they were MUCH more.
TheDorr71 1 year ago
Ringo is absolutely right; four guys who really loved each other was absolutely sensational, i cant believe fantastically close they really were.
Best band in the world!
jnb432 1 year ago 2
I love how John says it's not important, it's just a rock band, you can listen to the records. OMG, JUST a rock band! It's a living, breathing entity, there's a Beatle Gene, you either have it or you don't. I wonder if he ever came to realize HOW important The Beatles are, they are 4 of the most important people who ever lived, call me insane, but I really believe that. Beatle Fans hang on their every word. Beatles Forever & Ever

@HeartInThe60s
You are right about all of it. Once in a generation this marvellous beast comes into view- the film jumps from black and white to colour... everything from music, clothes, hair, attitudes spins around. You were lucky to live in that time of Beatles. Having said that, Le It Be is a rather depressing film about four guys who are trying hard- the best bit of magic they brought to the music then was funky brother Billy Preston- he helps them .
kidblacks 1 year ago

And that is worth a fortune.
billace90 1 year ago
@billace90 Thank you. I was 16 when they showed up on the radar. JFK had just been murdered. The Beatles were the hope of our generation. They brought joy back into our lives. They changed everything.

beatlefan4evr21 1 year ago

I love what Paul said how that their songs were all about peace and love, and how songs now a days are all about violence, sex, and drugs... well I am a Walrus... could have... nah!
