I think The Avengers is certainly a more ambitious title. For Nolan, it's "easy"; he's cemented himself as an amazing director, especially for Batman. The Avengers is really tricky, because it pulls together all of these different characters into one 2 hour movie. It's certainly going to rake in hundreds of millions, but will it be critically successful? It's a really ambitious project, so it should get extra points for that. The fact that they're actually doing it is really cool.
The movie theater i go to is only 6 dollars a ticket..and u can get drinks and popcorn for under 10 buks. I dont get why so many people choose to go to the expensive theaters...i guess they like the chairs better..

Batman will come out on top!! why? The Avengers doesn't have enough onscreen time for each heroes. It'll be a typical good vs evil with a lot of special effects. Batman has his own story, movie goers are generally interested in a good story line than just some fancy magical battle.
I think you might be overestimating the bleedover for the Avengers. 95% of the people who say Iron Man also saw Cap and Thor. Some might not see this as anything more than Iron Man 3 featuring the Avengers.

I would say that 95% of the people who saw Hulk, Thor and Captain America also saw Iron Man, but that maybe 50-60% of those who saw Iron Man watched the other ones. I know several people who didn't know there was a connection between those guys and Iron Man, and they eventually watched those films after learning about that.

I have been a big Captain America fan for years, well since i was about 6 or so. So it pains me to say that i think batman will take it. I want to see the avengers more than DKR but you can't argue that the New Batman series is great. But there isn't really anywhere they can go with it. The biggest disappointment I have with Dark Knight Rises, is Bane! Bane in the comic is a big dude that brakes Batman's back! This Bane leaves me asking why? Usually reviews about films and such are terribly portrayed and are not dissected on principle, so its important to get the facts out and lay the cards on the table so to say, in principle, marvels will be bigger, however, on paper, it looks like batman might just steal the show, what i enjoy about clever movies is that not only do they make fair honest and pretty descriptive reviews on both sides, they make sure its not a somewhat debatable war and in contrast urge us to watch both anyways.

"The Avengers" is a team of indestructable superheroes who are facing an alien army. Does that sound overrated or what? Forget that. "The Amazing Spider-Man" is gonna be the surprise hit of the year. Why? Because it's SPIDER-MAN!
Looking forward to both, but I have a feeling The Dark Knight Rises will be the winner... Not only because of the box office that The Dark Knight generated back in 2008 compared to the Marvel films, but also because of Batman Begins and TDK's rating on imdb. Both are very popular among the general audience, right now.
The only highest rated Marvel film right now is the 1st Iron Man with a 7.9/10.
Let's also take into account that people also really enjoyed Inception. The audience trusts Nolan.
Let me just point out that Thor, Captain America, and both Hulk movies have been mediocre--at best. Even Iron Man 2 was disappointing. I believe that the Dark Knight SHOULD win over audiences because the story and direction is pretty damn flawless. It kind of seems like The Avengers is a cash cow. It will not affect the other "heroes" movies, so to me it seems kind of pointless. It will be good, most likely because of Joss Whedon.

Heath Ledger made The Dark Knight movie incredible without him Dark Knight Rises could probably be just as good as Batman Begins or a bit more better, Christian bale is good, but Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo are great. Its just I don't see Tom Hardy delivering a character like bane and topping ledger's performance so thats why I vote for the Avengers.
Avengers cast is amazing. I realize that the hulk got recast, however out of all the superhero movies that is the one I did not see. So no offense to hulk fans, but I don't think the bulk of the audience is going to care about that recast. As for Batman he is cool and everything, but I'm just not nearly as excited to see the new Batman movie as the Avengers. As long as the director doesn't mess it up, I vote Avengers.

Looking forward to both, but I have a feeling The Dark Knight Rises will be the winner... Not only because of the box office that The Dark Knight generated back in 2008 compared to the Marvel films, but also because of Batman Begins and TDK's rating on imdb. Both are very popular among the general audience, right now.
The only highest rated Marvel film right now is the 1st Iron Man with a 7.9/10.
Let's also take into account that people also really enjoyed Inception. The audience trusts Nolan.

Let me just point out that Thor, Captain America, and both Hulk movies have been mediocre--at best. Even Iron Man 2 was disappointing. I believe that the Dark Knight SHOULD win over audiences because the story and direction is pretty damn flawless. It kind of seems like The Avengers is a cash cow. It will not affect the other "heroes" movies, so to me it seems kind of pointless. It will be good, most likely because of Joss Whedon.

the storyline for avengers is not known fully yet by viewers so its just makeing me wanting to see it more, ever since i saw marvel making movies i always wanted to see them combining characters to make the avengers and now that it finally came out people like me who have been waiting along time is more excited then ever for there favorite superheroes in one place. i have been waiting for this moment for an avengers movie ever since i saw 2003 hulk!

The Dark Knight had a great box office run was partly due to untimely death of Heath Ledger. However with that meaning said even if Heath Ledger did not die it still will have been a hit. Heath Ledger was freakin awesome

Heath Ledger made The Dark Knight movie incredible without him Dark Knight Rises could probably be just as good as Batman Begins or a bit more better, Christian bale is good, but Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo are great. Its just I don't see Tom Hardy delivering a character like bane and topping ledger's performance so thats why I vote for the Avengers.

Avengers cast is amazing. I realize that the hulk got recast, however out of all the superhero movies that is the one I did not see. So no offense to hulk fans, but I don't think the bulk of the audience is going to care about that recast. As for Batman he is cool and everything, but I'm just not nearly as excited to see the new Batman movie as the Avengers. As long as the director doesn't mess it up, I vote Avengers.

@boumtjeboo I use NYE as a reference, because even though it's so bad (in reviews) the only thing bringing in any money for it...is the fact that it has an ensemble cast. Now you take that same theory and you apply it to something as huge as a marvel movie, and it blows up

Morgan Freeman? Gary Oldman? Movie legends. Marion Cotillard? Oscar winner. Anne Hathaway? Big female draw. Tom Hardy? Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Two of the fastest rising stars in the business.

love the vids. i do pick sides, i'm a Marvel girl through and through. but i will cross that comic book like every time for Batman, especially when my girl Catwoman is in the mix. i will go see both, but on a whole i've found that the Batman movies more enjoyable than the Marvel/Avengers movies. should be a fun summer. thanks for another great vid Josh ^^
