i dont think u can say its abuse.. because those horses are in very good condition. looking at the other horse it looks like its quite hot.. it doesnt take much for a human to over heat and most times we dont no it until we're about to pass out.. same goes for the horse. i dont think u can say its abuse because hes not hitting or kicking the animal to get him up.. its actually safer to get a horse up then let them roll because their intestines twist when under stress.. i have horses.

Heat exhaustion can happen under normal circumstances. This horse was savable if they would have put the camera down and started cooling his body down slowly. They needed to find a way to get shade over him and fan him down. The horse didnt seem out of breath "overworked" just heat had him sweating and he couldn't cool him self off. Everyone just standing around should have helped.

Why didn't someone try to get the driver to get most of the driving equipment off the hore, it would be easier and more comfortable on the horse, and putting water on the animals chest and legs if it was hot at all. and there always the classic calling a vetrinarian/ police.

All of you people don't know anything. It's botchulism!!!! I'm 14 and even I know this. Some sort of animal died in it's feed and left a bacteria in it called botchulism. It slowly paralyze the horse. These people need to take the Collar off of that horse. And it could have possibly been collicing. But water doesn't answer your prayers. The horse would need bute and I would need to poop or pee. Collicing is when the guts twist. Horses normally roll when they are collicing. Jeeze people

Notice how at first he seems very angry because the poor animal refuses to rise..then the abuser acts like he cares by brushing him all over. This was NOT colic. Pure exhaustion...plain and simple. I'd like to put heavy dumb bells around that guys neck and whip him up and down a mountain.
its not overworked its just colicing. which still could be a result of improper care. or it could just be by accident. like people, horses get sick. the other horse looks completely fine and the one that died didn't look tired.
it definitely was just head exhaustion and dehydration. i knew a horse a few years ago who died the exact same way. if he was colicing, he would not be lethargic, he would try to roll. and a heart attack obviously does not occur this way just by watching the hickstead video.
I doubt this horse went down because it was exhausted. The other horse looked fine. If it was from exhaustion the other horse would have looked tired as well. There was probably something medically wrong. It could have been sun stroke or maybe colic.
@mycatChica Sincerely doubt this was colic as the horse is showing no signs other than sweating. If it were colic, he would be thrashing, pawing and biting at his sides. It's a very, very painful aliment and a horse does not just lie down and die like that. Overwork exhaustion or heat exhaustion is more likely.

It's completely normal to try and get horse to stand up when it lied down if they wouldn't try to get it to stand uo then they would be leaving it to die. Also, it could have lied down from simple misdigestion, in which case you need to get the horse to run around.

Notice how at first he seems very angry because the poor animal refuses to rise..then the abuser acts like he cares by brushing him all over. This was NOT colic. Pure exhaustion...plain and simple. I'd like to put heavy dumb bells around that guys neck and whip him up and down a mountain.

its not overworked its just colicing. which still could be a result of improper care. or it could just be by accident. like people, horses get sick. the other horse looks completely fine and the one that died didn't look tired.

it definitely was just head exhaustion and dehydration. i knew a horse a few years ago who died the exact same way. if he was colicing, he would not be lethargic, he would try to roll. and a heart attack obviously does not occur this way just by watching the hickstead video.

I doubt this horse went down because it was exhausted. The other horse looked fine. If it was from exhaustion the other horse would have looked tired as well. There was probably something medically wrong. It could have been sun stroke or maybe colic.

@mycatChica Sincerely doubt this was colic as the horse is showing no signs other than sweating. If it were colic, he would be thrashing, pawing and biting at his sides. It's a very, very painful aliment and a horse does not just lie down and die like that. Overwork exhaustion or heat exhaustion is more likely.

@mycatChica Could be. But the other horse may be a little younger and stronger. Maybe the horse that went down was totally exhausted because it had to pull the cart for more hours than the other one. Just a thought... but sun stroke or sth is also very possible. Either way, that poor horse...

It's completely normal to try and get horse to stand up when it lied down if they wouldn't try to get it to stand uo then they would be leaving it to die. Also, it could have lied down from simple misdigestion, in which case you need to get the horse to run around.
