  • Haha pause at 2:54 :D

  • whats the difference between this and the 200 watt version? is it just louder?

  • what guitar is this guy using

  • @1016Freedom1016 ESP LTD MH-1000

  • money well spent

  • mesa boogie mark 5 sounds better :/

  • @campbelljohn15 But not today :D

  • @campbelljohn15 that's why it costs 2500 E :P

  • wish I had $2,000 to get it.

  • I've played this amp in person, and it sounds WAY better than this. Mid does sound much better when near 12

  • it does a scooped mid tone pretty well, I'm very impressed

  • The last two setting have just enough distortion for metal, and the tone that comes with it is amazing. My question is, how does that EQ work for all 4 channels? Does the amp remember the setting for each channel or does every channel have to run off of the same EQ settings?

  • Which do you think is better, the blackstar series one 50 or the 100? I play in a pop punk band but like a really powerful/heavier tone, thats also got plenty of clarity. Cheers!

  • @lilmatt619 IMO, go with the Orange TH30 for that style of music. For a good example, check out PGS youtube video demo of this amp head. Peace!

  • @lilmatt619 imo it kinda depends on what kinda head room you are looking for the 100w has more headroom than the 50w. imo these amps are great because you can power scale them to 10% of their wattage, but genealy you have to bounce 100w off the walls to get any break up. i am no expert on pop punk (i play blues and nwbhm stuff mostly) but id check out the jet city amps, good reviews on their big output models

  • proguiatrshop should take it for a ride! i'm pretty sure they could do a way better all over demo of the amp and let us hear how great these amps are!

  • in the American Heavy Super Crunch Tone

he is using the Bridge pick up ?¿

  • in think the only reason why he scoops the mids is because acourding to blackstar, the isf has more of an effect when the mids are scooped

  • anyone know what he's playing at 00:38?

  • I just got this amp after having a Mesa Dual and an Engl Powerball and it blows them the fuck away. And the people who are saying he needs more mids, critique his setting when you can play anything he has comosed, lol.

  • @NeoMetalx t Considering this is an hard rock-heavy metal amp, imho more mids are needed. In addition,it's made to show how the amp sounds.to ALL customers, not metalheads only.Andy's a great player, and by saying the video lacks mids noone is underestimating him .

  • quit scooping the mids!!!

  • Andy does nice demo as always. It would just be cool if he played with some more different EQ settings, namely more mids for once

  • Hey guys, anyone know what tune Andy's playing at 1:50?

  • TOO SCOOPED!

  • This amp has way more beef then shown here in this clip.

I find it not showing its full potential.

The hybrid capability's of this amp are quite amazing, even more then shown in this clip.

  • Nice video !! A great guitarrist with a great amp.... nice mic sound too.. now i can have a opinion about blackstar sound..

  • northampton,northampton,northampton,,,,hell yeah

  • MOVE OVER MESA......HERE COMES BLACKSTAR

  • 0:47 sounds like Andy Timmons

  • Blackstaramps should do some suggested settings for the 200w

  • Nicest amp I've ever played through.

    And eh... SHRED!

  • ARE THOSE RIFFS IMPROVISED? THEY'RE FUCKING AWESOME

  • Oh, Marshall Amplification saw this video xD

  • for god sake andy, u make it look so easy!!!! lene x

  • Love my HT-5 but this thing sounds really thin.. but then again I don't trust my laptop speakers and YouTube to rely on that..

  • can you do suggested settings for HT stage 60 please!

  • Great clean tones, but anything past that I don't like. And yes, I have played a Series One.

  • Fine, but how about a few notes with the mids past half, for those who don't play metal all the time?!

  • @alenchence Fair comment.

I own one of these (the 45W). I'm not a metal player at all. Its a pretty versatile amp. I'm using it in a popfunk band (warm clean for rhythm, super crunch for solos), a jazz combo (warm clean) and a folk/rock band (crunch).

I reckon blackstar demos have low mid settings because the ISF control has most effect at low mid settings. That and their decision to market it using metal guys like Gus G and Andy James.

  • @alenchence

Agreed :) The guitar is a mid range instrument after all.

  • @alenchence its a metal amp primarily. wtf are you looking for dumbass?

  • @tuulenkoti oh yeah,now I see,you've opened my eyes...fucking idiot

  • @tuulenkoti btw no,it's not "primarily a metal amp".It has less than half the gain of an engl/mesa/peavey

  • @alenchence not sure about you, but my mids are cranked when playin metal :P

  • @Scarbak123 :)

  • @alenchence but i definitely agree with you about the mids, it gives the notes a lot more colour and prominence in the mix, so i hear where you're comin from

  • @alenchence Funny because I metal all the time but my mids are there. :]

  • @ferociouspokemachine Great... :)

  • @alenchence ahem...i crank the mids when i play metal...sounds way better cuts through better too

  • @alenchence Any metal player worth his salt won't be scooping the mids. An amp this loud will kick in the human ear's natural scoop anyway when playing with a band and mid scooped tones don't sit in a mix at all, they just turn to mush and aren't easy to hear. Plenty of mids makes for a less forgiving, less easy to play tone but will make you have to actually play the riffs with accuracy and you will benefit greatly, not to mention that you would sit much better in mixes and in gigs.

  • @alenchence The lots of mids eq style is very common in metal actually. Most lead guitarists I know turn the mids up all the way so they cut through, and i never put them below half. have a good one!

  • @alenchence In his defense his guitar isn't really up to specs for much else. Great guitar, but definitely a metal guitar.

  • Those are some commendable clean tones, very nice.

  • Great Video. Love these Blackstar amps. I own one and have played several of the HT models. Hard to find a better amp! Rock on!

  • for a moment there I though I was hearing a modern Jethro Tull or Led Zeppelin! Great stuff

  • First! Had to do it once.

  • @shreddy412 Hopefully it's your last...
