Wow....U look soooo much better than the video where u were losing to quick. I was a lil nervous after watching. I am scheduled to have MGB in November with Dr. P in Florida. I am trying to to stay positive. I wish u the best in your continued journey to get healthy. Stay encouraged!!!!
@MsLadyKanKan Hi, I still love my MGB. I have had my share of ups and downs but when I think back to how limited my life was before, I am very happy with the decision I made to have the surgery. I have to do another update soon, but with school I just haven't had the time lately. Best of luck to you with your upcoming surgery. It's a hard choice to make, but well worth all the effort and the lifestyle changes.
Carrie, you were the 1st one I clicked on cause I was so excited to see an update from you since its been so long. I missed you!! Are you coming to the meet & greet again this year? I hope you are so we can party again. I Keep updated through FB and scuba diving is something we have in common. Thats my favorite sport and im certified too. You look so good 2yrs out. Im glad you kept it real and hope you continue dong videos.
@skymoon1982 Melanie!!!! I missed you too!! Of course I am coming to Vegas!!! I had so much fun last year with you guys I couldn't not come again this year!! :D I didn't know you were a scuba diver, you should come down to Honduras in August. I am doing a trip there and will be meeting up with a friend after expedition (from Aug 16th to the end of the month) for diving in Utila and Roatan. Seriously, think about it, would be a blast!!! :D I can't wait to see you in May!! Yay!!
Awesome update & you flexed your guns! You seem to have your head in the right propects like always & know what makes you tick inside & out for healthwise now & keep yourself up to track of do's & don'ts.. And the end photos are beautiful ocean scenery! And to see a before & after photo is quite a wake up call of how much ones transformation can be.. Blown away..Here's to bettering health in a continued forward motion & take care of you & Gaston! hugs
@fudds64 Thanks so much, just wait until you see my guns after I am finished with the P90X program! :D I think ocean reefs are the most beautiful places in the world, they completely fascinate me! It is a bit crazy with the before and after being so different. I will be seeing people next week that haven't seen me since way before surgery. I am actually not looking forward to the attention... Funny how that can be sometimes.
I loved seeing you sweetie thanks for the update and learning to be you is amazing right?? even with the up's and the down's your always a blessing to view I hope to see more of you mama miss's you :( (sad face) love and smiles love rosemary
@gastricRose I missed you too!!! Are you going to Vegas this year? I haven't got my tickets yet, but I will be going. I had so much fun with you last time!! <3
@slimminjacks Wow!! That's awesome, it is quite the journey. The difference it makes when you loose the weight is just unbelievable, you are going to be loving life and living it to the fullest!!
OMG, Carey! You look so good. I think most people could only wish to have as little skin as you around their abdomen. I'm glad you're figuring out your health.
@UniversityofMe101 Oh, I didn't show that skin here, but I do show it in another video. When I saw Katzen in Vegas last year, he told me I had about 17 pounds overall to be removed, the most of which is tucked into my pants. LOL!
it is Sooo Nice to YOU !!!! i have miss YOU OMG YOU Look Amazing sweetie i can't wait to live life like you my friend God Bless and Take Care of YOUR Self love connie
@QuiltingConnieB I am so excited for you!! I missed you too!!!! I can't wait to see your transformation. You will have a full and long life filled with amazing experiences!! <3
hoohoo-- you are here -- LIVE almost! lol- I have so enjoyed following your travel pics! on FB-- thank you for sharing-- it seems like a dream life to me. Hope you feel stronger every day. you look fabulous-- body looks great-- really!
@cabernetqueen Thanks so much Sally!! Are you going to Vegas?? I can't wait! I love travel, that is why I am working to make it part of my career. There is nothing more in life I love more!!
@justyehuda I think I will have to revise to a shorter bypass. Right now I have digestion starting after a 7 foot bypass, I think I might be better off with a 4 ft bypass, would give me more digestion-ability.
@justyehuda Its a different much simpler "construction", and the rule is basically, the amount of bypass will work out to the amount of desired weight loss. My vitamin levels are fine, on the last one my D was a little low, but it's winter and I don't take vitamins, I just eat as varied a diet as possible. I think my issue was that I had gained about 50 lbs in the 6 months previous to surgery. I probably could have done fine with a 6 footer, but there was no way to predict.
@freshorangina A standard RNY limb is 2 feet. A distal bypass is 5-6 feet. That procedure is known to have problems with too much malabsorbtion. Distal patients who have problems of malabsorbtion generally get revised to the DS. Have you posted your situation on the revisions forum on OH?
@justyehuda Nope I am not on OH. I do not have a roux limb, pretty much the surgery is like a vertical sleeve that plugs directly into the small intestine after the desired amount of bypass. Nothing is removed and because of the construction of the surgery it can be easily revised for more or less weight loss or reversed altogether to restore the functionality of the whole system. I have been in touch with my surgeon, but I have been trying to avoid revision by eating more.
@freshorangina I know I will probably eventually have to revise to a shorter bypass length, but with the changes to the provincial health plan I am going to have to battle for them to pay for it. Pain in the butt! Oh well, in the meantime my labs are good and I am making it work. It is really the stress I need to conquer, and the exercise is definitely helping with that. I think you would be surprised if you saw how much I could eat...! PS, are you coming to Vegas in May? Say yes!! :D
@justyehuda Oh I know!! Right now with all of the intolerances, chinese food will not be anywhere in my future. There are so many times when I say " I wish I could have my old stomach back, just for this meal!" LOL That all being said, I am a damn good cook, and make myself some really delicious stuff. Right now I am diggging my awesome rice and beans, fish with culichi sauce (creamy jalapeno/avocado sauce, YUM), Broccoli fried with garlic and bacon, and potato fish soup! NOM NOM NOM!!
guess who is 1st to SEE you? great update and so awesome to hear and see you. know how tough the masters program can be, you will be stronger for it in the end. just take it all one assignment at at time. Gluten free? Wow, that is a tough one. At least you got that all figured out though, feeling good is better than feeling like crap from feeding your body fuel. Exercise will for sure help with the stress. YES = p90x! :-) Bonaire and diving = me being super jealous! You look FANTASTIC!
@bandedwendy Great to be posting again. I am definitely trying to do it one day at a time. Loved starting the P90X program, we should do a Pre-Vegas P90X Challenge!! I am a little sore but feeling great this morning, looking forward to the next module!! Bonaire was incredible!! Are you a diver? Come down to Roatan and Utila August 17th to the end of the month!! We'll put those muscles to good use swimming with Whale Sharks!!!!

@freshorangina 7 foot bypass? WTF!!! That's a distal bypass AKA extended RNY limb. Have you had your labs to check on your vitamin levels?
