This is not the style of music that I grew up with, not what I am used to listen to and not what I like most.... and surely not what I play on my accordion. During the last month I did lots of research on near- and far eastern music (original instruments, rhythms, styles, history...) and finally came to this here.

I like to hear this style from time to time as a contrast. Another commentor said already: magic and true music, moving, captivating - I have to add: honest and pure music.

Though I'm not aware of the pure technicalities of the ragas,yet when I heard this great musical display of Raga Malsri-Sarangi by Ustad Hussain Baksh Amritsari, I felt compelled hearing it again and again.Such is the force,the magic of music.This is, in my opinion, the True Music, that moves us, captivates us, that we truly appreciate ...and therefore one must not wish first to understand and then to feel a true music!!

There is wide gap between notes and on instrument like Sarangi to play like this---at a lightening speed and maintaining purity and serenity of notes is not a human job.
