Awesome, I've been struggling with stropping for quite some time now... This method has made it a great deal better. Thank you much!

1 Basically heats up the edge makes easier for the leather side to straighten the edge
2. Very little . check video and try to control pressure.if you use too much you will hurt the edge
3. 50+50 should be plenty enough. if blade still dull needs to be honed.edge is not shave ready.
4 not really Very rare.
5.I do . always on leather side never linen side.
6.Increase if done properly.
7. You should get comfortable s-ve.if stropping d-nt help then time to m-ve stone.
hope this helps.

Excellent, thank you for your help. Many questions that all new people may have and you re the only person that might be able to answer.
1) What is the canvas on my strop used for? (before or after the leather?)
2) How much pressure on canvas and leather?
3) How many times passing on canvas on leather?
4) Is it possible to over-strop?
5) Do you strop right after honing?
6) Will stropping increase sharpness of a honed blade or make more dull?
7) How do you know when to strop and when to hone?

I am glad it did help. Be patient and don't hurry while you strop. GL
thank you
This was very helpful. Your way of holding it allows me much more control over pressure on the strop.

Hi_Budgl100.
A very excellent stropping tutorial. I'm sure many straight shavers will benefit from this example, both new and veteran shavers.
Many thanks,
Mac
