I hope greece collapses and soon,,,, then followed by Italy spain and portuagal,,, when this happens Europe will be finished and we can stop being dictated to by a bunch of socialist left wing wankers
STOP it please....the EU is an Elite Club without real democratic legitimation! It benefits buisness mostly. East vs. west is not the issue that should be discussed....Elite vs common people...that's the true agenda! So Blestematul...when ur a normal average person ask urself who is profiting most, whether in the east or in the west: Common People or Elites that can make infinite riches in a free market like the eu?!
yes of course this elite of aliens from mars totally out of touch w their own countrys realities and totally uninterested in their country sucess. states are integrated institutional systems u know the "elites" only fare well if the whole system fares well. + the great thing about the EU is exactly that those "elites" each fights for their own countrys rights etc creating an extremely balanced and transparent dynamic.
ppl pls dont take ur frustrations on the EU cause its the best thing we have
Poor deluded fool. It's EUck expansionism that necessitate a defence force to protect us when Russia get so pissed off with them encroaching on what they consider their sphere of influence. Police and Justice, Europol and EuroJust, trial in abstentia, dodgy European arrest warrants, that any respectable police service refuse to execute. The list goes on. Europol the highest paid police in Europe, just like all the rest, bought and paid for by you and me to subject us to undemocratic rule.
as for the second part yes this all powerful monster (w 1% of our GDP... man theyre ruling this lol) exlsuively dedicated to the taking away of our basic rights and freedoms is to be destroyed at all cosdts!!!!! RUN FOR UR LIVES LOL
The first part is about, why have a defence force, who are they afraid of, who are they annoying that they would need to defend themselves against. Has NATO been made redundant?
1% GDP. The simple question is. WHO ASKED YOU, or me come to that. We have been left out of the equation, and if it starts without a democratic mandate on it inception, where else can it go in it's furtherance. Lose 1% GDP how much of a percentage of your democracy are you prepared to lose until you waken up?
ok first part we do not have a defence force (its mentionned in the vid btw). i know the extatic pro eu and the histerical anti eu like to think we do, but we simply dont and probably never will both for the reasons u mentionned and simply because the EU doesnt need it. as is said in the video, the EU is essentially an economic organization.
second part well they didnt ask ME, they asked MY GOVERNMENT. and I TRUST my government.
Why does an economic organization need european arrest warrants? Why has Britain allocated 5,000 service personell to a Euroean Rapid Reaction Force under the EDF. Why is France squealing that they want the HQ of the EDF in France as against Brussels? Why do you trust your government, the same govt. that wouldn't trust you with a vote on the Lisbon Treaty, unless you are Irish of course and they were bound by a constitution.
lol that info there is simply false. but anyway dude read some stuff on the third pillar the europol only has jurisdiction on the matters allowed by the states and directly connected with the EU.
well i trsut my state because i voted for it. i trust my state because i trust democracy etc weve had experiences w other systems and trust me this one is cool enough. now if u dont trust ur state fight it etc dont take it out on us.
Well why does an economic organisation need arrest warrants? Britain has 5,000 service personell allocated for a rapid response within the EDF. Yes I agree that they can't do anything without the British Govts. approval, are you going to tell me that they aren't going to get it.
The Lisbon Treaty is described as the treaty to end further treaties, it is self amending and grants them the power to do as they please to change. AND THEY WILL. You know what they say about power.
ok dude first of all economy is a social science, that is just another way to try and analise this "whole" reality. but we wont go there.
the EU is essentially the single market. single market means no borders, which in turn means- new oportunities and challenges. some challenges simply cannot be met by state structures. thats why u have europol. now u probably dont have 5000 europol effectives in the whole of europol, let alone in the british section lol.
approx 600 in europol. GB has 5000 service personnel allocated for EDF rapid response. A single market means no brders?? for goods, why do I need the people, why do I need common across the board laws and social chapter?
edf rapid response................. lol dude. u urself said it and we all know it: without nato and the us bthere is n.o.t.h.i.n.g. now if we want to change that situation is another matter which would demand a rethinking of all our geostartegic stands and policies.
goods and ppl. remeber the uk is the freak. and anyway drugs, guns, human trafiking...the list goes on.
cause u need ur rights related to eu activity and etc to be protected
again, please lay off the conpiracy theories. again, if u dont trust ur government well thats ur problem fight it do whatever dont take it our on us. and yes the eu doesnt do ANYTHING to u without ur governments approval.
and yes they will change of course they will change cause the eu is progressive, flexible, adaptable etc everything u need to gbe in order to make it in the wild wild world. it is so so we can PROTECT UR INTERESTS.
Lord Mandleson of everywhere and anywhere has described it as post democratic and the general consensus is that is what it is. There can be no oversight to the commission once the council of ministers have suggested in their little coven what should be done, they feed in god knows what can come out and they can't even knock the door and ask how's it going lads.
dude these are ur heads of state........... all the documents are public. if ur so concerned join some civil group related w these matters im sure there are plenty.
and again if u dont trust ur government man what can i say fight for ur rights dont take it out on us...
again, there are so may countries/elites/powers at stake that the whole process is extremely tranhsparent and democratic--everyone is on the watch out for their interests.

yes of course. where do U get ur info is what i would like to know. lol. freedom of information has been at force since at least 92.
the problem of the disconnection of the general population is in fact a real one. ppl dont know dont understand dont get and therefore translate their internal 8national, regional whatever, personal) frustrations into the EU. if u want to discuss that we can.
yes its getting better, always. just cause u dont like it doesnt mean its not amazing :)
@madbcc I get some of my information from Open Europe which in turn gets and translates into English articles from EU wide newspapers. If the articles are wrong I see no rebuttals coming forth from the Commission or elsewhere in the grand fraud.
If the EU is so amazing why haven't any other countries with trade agreements followed suit? Perhaps they wish to remain soverign nations with no one else involved in how they make their natonal decissions.
who asked u about who should be judge in the UK supreme court or whatever u have there? who asked u who should be minister of agriculture? who asked u etc its an international organization and therefore the democratic mechanisms are different. and the EU ENHANCES our democracy because it allows ur state, that is YOU, powers (in the globalized world) that it would NEVER have otherwise. again if ur interested i can elaborate.

The corrupt central State is determined, like Mugabe, to force new votes for personal gain!
Dear turkish friend, I'll tell u one simple thing. We europeans came from the most obscene tragedy of the last centuries: the two world wars caused by our european countries. We know our resposnibilities. We built up a Union to ensure peace, solidarity among nations, human development, etc. WE KNOW what our grandparents did and that's why we're promoting intercultural dialogue, external partnerships, respect for human rights, according to the univ declaration of Hr subscribed by all countries
rnrpreacher It is astonishing how gullible kids are! The EU has done NOTHING to maintain peace in Europe or elsewhere. Peace has mainly been as a result of no Country being belicose & the control of NATO as any Turk will be only to happy to explain. The largest conflicy in Europe since 1945 was brought about BY THE EU, EVERY member agreed to recognise no state in Yugoslavia & Germany dishonorably broke its word & supported The Croats as a Nation State. The EU will be the cause of the next war.
What gain is there from killing? Now slavery... thats a very profitable business!! I personally recommend it... Next time instead of killing Armenians... enslave them!!
I come from sweden, we haven't had a war in 200 hundred years which is more than any curent nation. second: many have predicted that the EU will fall in a few years, but in the last 50 years nothing have happened. Third: the former Soviet are not( with a few exceptions ) members of the EU. Forth: there have never been any major wars in europe since the EU.
zazanza Why might Sweden have had a war in the last 200 years? It has never had the might or manpower to attack & conquer anyone. The Swedes sit on land that is relatively inhospitable & of little use to others. What would a war have been about? However that has not stopped Sweden capitalising on other people's wars as a major arms manufacturer. Nor has it failed to capitalise by its lack of principles masked by 'Pacifism' such that it profited from WW & made no effort to defend its friends!
That is bullshit mr zazanza In the mid-1850s, Sweden was a poor agrarian country. During the period from 1850 to 1970 the Swedish economy was the fastest growing in the world -- along with Japan -- and in 1970 Sweden was the world's third richest country measured in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita. A number of factors explain this leap, but among the most important were:
• Exports of such commodities as iron ore and timber products to Britain and the European continent
zazanza said "In the time of the EU (the last 50 years) there haven't been any european wars". Where have you been? Germany aided by the EU have caused war in Yugoslavia by being unwilling to honour their own agreements! Other wars have not occurred, as you well know, because no Country has had cause or chosen to attack another in EUrope and NATO has had sufficient might to prevent war in EUrope The EU has done NOTHING for Peace anywhere in the world & is the most likely cause of the next war
Well mattyr...there is a lot of dirt about EU, like CAP, eco protectionism, eco interventionism. But thats it, thats all. The rest is good for all of us. "Every coin has two sides - one bright and one dark"
I hope EU will become multi-national country soon. Its already almost the same as confederation or even federation...
yes you just do that. i didnt even resad your posts and do not intend to LOL since youre not man enough to keep other peoples posts on your channel, i just dont see why i should respect you in any way really... but well LOLOLOLOLOL have a nice day
yeah yeah yeah where do you get your stats from brother thats what i would like to know.... anyway i bet you didnt watch the video so why do you come troll my channel really if youre not interested in what i have to share???
fact of the day: the fact that you british can still sell beef anywhere is only thanks to the EU so BE THANKFULLL stop whining and start thinking how you can contribute to the common miracle ok???
LOLOL yes i know all about the CAP thank you very much. so do the american policies: im assuming you dont pretend that america shouldnt be united. so stop the bs please.
you asked to join twice before we were kind enough to let you in LOLOLOLOLOLOL you know why??? because you need us waaaaaay more than we need you LOLOLOLOLOL... watch the vid so you learn a little for once in your life :DD
i dont care, you were still dumped.... so stop whining now ok?? LOLOLOL
LOOOOOOOOOOOL honey go read some book will you??? germany + the scandinavian countries are the net contributors....theyre paying for the british industrial restructuring LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL so be thankful and get a life will you ??? LOL
actually britain pays for the CAP which is racist to none-french farmers, and encourages ineffeicent farming. britain is by far a net contributor if you look it up.
also your country (it says you are from portugal in your profile) was blocked from joining till 1986 because you are a shit country.
yes the british and the rest of us... so what LOL were still paying for your industroial restructuring and fort you to be able to sell beef anywhere so please just stop winning its just ridiculous really lololol
yes we are a shit country LOLOLOL hey at least our teenagers restrain themselves from having kids all the time.... LOLOLOLOLOL you dont want me to start humiliating the UK on my channel brother trust me you just dont LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Interesting video, congratulations. Two remarks though:
1. The UK tried to create its "own thing", but it didn't fail, it's EFTA, still in existence today (with Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland, I think) - from the countries that make it up, you can imagine that it's average GDP per capita is much higher than in the EU. But of course, it has been shrinking.
yes i know lol...and yes it failed in the sense that it wasnt nearly as sucessful as the ESCS. yes of course but those GDP have nothing to do with EFTA. theyre high in spite of the countries being in EFTA nad not in the EU, not because of it. there is plenty of info on the issue everywhere; if you want i can send you some bibliography.
3. All individuals should be able to opt out of social security. If this happens people can still have smaller families and not be flooded with millions of immigrants from hostile world regions.
and 4. I wish there was more free speech guaranteed in the EU. Just my personal preference, but I detest the idea of 'speech crimes,' and 'thought crimes.'
the question is what kind of social security etc thats a national question for the states to decide as they have
4- Im sorry theres a lot of free speech in the EU in fact you hear all kinds all the time the EU has no control on what is said about it really like its cool :)))))
2--the welfare thing demands a huge discourse but no look at the scandinavian countries theyre doing allright...
3-thats a national question that has nothing to do with the EU. and really im sorry social security is based on very deep rooted values out here it would be a huge discourse but anyway our societies depend on it.
man we dont have less competition, we have a much greater and more transparent honest lawful continental wide competition. the whole point is to install a global space where we all cooperate and all our entreprises compete fairly etc
For slavophile1: What do you mean "less competition"? Europe is based on the socialized market structure. This is a form of capitalist system. But it is secured as much as possible from fraud and corruption. I consider that very helpful and humanitarian.
Yup yup more and more unity until we get to one (1) unit.
EU's laws and the bureaucracy in Brussels is just bullshit. Those French slimy nosed goddamned bureaucrats just troll everybody in every country. If only there was no "EU law" or "EU constitution", I'd be fine with it. The Euro's not bad, and open borders are fine as hell because it's only more convenient for everybody.
of course you didnt watch it... or you wouldnt be telling that bs. you guys--im really sorry but its true--are just ignorant fools really mad at life in general and happy to bother others with your not self contained anger.
man watch the video. no one is telling you how to run your country you moron your country is protecting its interests in the international scene. i know its a concept a bit hard to grasp, but you can do it.
your country is cooperating with other countries in order to survive in this big bad world. please watch the video. thank you brother and have a nice day
and who on earth is saying that youre anyone else or that tahts our goal??? i mean jesus people just dont get it at all man watch the video and try to keep rational
hey!!! long time no see!!!! thank you for kind words brother, really... and thank you for those great videos too... you rock brother, a lot lol :DDDDDDD
but any move towards direct democracy (to us the citizens) will be made at the expense of the states powers, not the comission/"EU" ones. that why democratization is so hard to obtain in the states-controlled EU. lol
Not necessarily. We could expand the power of the european parliament. Or we could vote the president of the EU Commission directly. Its a long way to got for more democratization. But the new EU treaty is a first step.
yes, but the european parliament gains power essentially at the expense of the council and its legislative control. the parliament has wide powers towards other institutions--for example, it has a "veto" choice in the formation of the Comission and can dissolve it once its formed. it can do all kinds of enquiries and set up all kinds of comissions about all kinds of issues. this is democracy.
Yes, but I still think we need more direct democrazy. And very important: The people in the states have to understand the importance of the european election. Many people dont care and dont go to vote. Because they dont know about the power the EU and its institutions today have. We all need to be more European.
yes yes i agree i was just saying its basically a question of political will on the part of the sovereign members, not on the part of the Comission :DD so we have to figh for our rights "against" our presidents and prime ministers, not "the EU". thats all i meant; youre totally right we do need more democratization and maybe a new kind of one too :P lol i dont know
anyway the enhanced power of the European Court of Justice in the protection of the citizens rights will also always be at the expense of the states power. the court of justice makes the state respect rights of EU citizens which are not contemplated in the national legal frame. etc etc etc
I hope greece collapses and soon,,,, then followed by Italy spain and portuagal,,, when this happens Europe will be finished and we can stop being dictated to by a bunch of socialist left wing wankers

The EU will be the cause of the next war.

Enslaved... yes!
Slaughtered... no!

Forth: there have never been any major wars in europe since the EU.
zazanza 3 years ago
zazanza Why might Sweden have had a war in the last 200 years? It has never had the might or manpower to attack & conquer anyone. The Swedes sit on land that is relatively inhospitable & of little use to others. What would a war have been about? However that has not stopped Sweden capitalising on other people's wars as a major arms manufacturer. Nor has it failed to capitalise by its lack of principles masked by 'Pacifism' such that it profited from WW & made no effort to defend its friends!
Greg260146 3 years ago
That is bullshit mr zazanza In the mid-1850s, Sweden was a poor agrarian country. During the period from 1850 to 1970 the Swedish economy was the fastest growing in the world -- along with Japan -- and in 1970 Sweden was the world's third richest country measured in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita. A number of factors explain this leap, but among the most important were:
• Exports of such commodities as iron ore and timber products to Britain and the European continent
BrianVanReen 3 years ago
We don't accuse people of the slaughter of HISTORY! In the time of the EU ( the last 50 years ) there haven't been any european wars.
zazanza 3 years ago
zazanza said "In the time of the EU (the last 50 years) there haven't been any european wars".

I do respect what you are doing with your site.
Keep up the good work.
I think we have just misunderstood eachother's intentions.
It's so easy to misjudge.
Messages would be more welcome than these stupid tiny YouTube comments.
I'm sorry I erased your comments. At the time you had not enabled comments for this video and that frustrated me.
I'm sorry.
And please don't be so quick to judge my point of view. I am pro people and not anti- anything.
Again, I am sorry for my over-reaction.
Best Wishes

Just one more thought.
I'm going to get rid of my Youtube site soon.
My other activities toward change are more effective and positive.
With no one listening in Austria that we want a referendum.
And the bleak out-look of Yes or No in Ireland this seem like a lost forum, for the moment.
I hope that we accept Turkey. It would at least show the rest of the Muslim world that we are no completly hopeless.
I am not Muslim by the way, I just hate seeing people persecuted.
Peace!

we where "refused" to be joined because the french president of the time thought we where too pro-US, and we where poor.
now the EU needs us more than we need them, shown by the fact that we are a NET CONTRIBUTOR to the EU by far :)
mattyr2k8 3 years ago

Interesting video, congratulations. Two remarks though:
1. The UK tried to create its "own thing", but it didn't fail, it's EFTA, still in existence today (with Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland, I think) - from the countries that make it up, you can imagine that it's average GDP per capita is much higher than in the EU. But of course, it has been shrinking.
jtfreire 4 years ago
2. I forgot what the second remark was. Anyway, be caeful aout th colours of the letters vs background, some of the lines are almost illegible.
jtfreire 4 years ago
yes i know lol...and yes it failed in the sense that it wasnt nearly as sucessful as the ESCS. yes of course but those GDP have nothing to do with EFTA. theyre high in spite of the countries being in EFTA nad not in the EU, not because of it. there is plenty of info on the issue everywhere; if you want i can send you some bibliography.
madbcc 4 years ago
EFTA was more succesful it just seemed to limited to northern europe there was also oil disputes in the north sea

3. All individuals should be able to opt out of social security. If this happens people can still have smaller families and not be flooded with millions of immigrants from hostile world regions.
and 4. I wish there was more free speech guaranteed in the EU. Just my personal preference, but I detest the idea of 'speech crimes,' and 'thought crimes.'
slavophile1 4 years ago
I'm cool with the EU if it stresses Western unity, but have just a few doubts:
1. Competition made the West great. Can the work ethic remain the same with less competition?
2. The welfare state programs need to be rolled back in order to secure strong GDP growth.
slavophile1 4 years ago
the question is what kind of social security etc thats a national question for the states to decide as they have
4- Im sorry theres a lot of free speech in the EU in fact you hear all kinds all the time the EU has no control on what is said about it really like its cool :)))))
Have a nice day
madbcc 4 years ago
Okay, irma. Thanks for explaining your POV.
slavophile1 4 years ago
2--the welfare thing demands a huge discourse but no look at the scandinavian countries theyre doing allright...
3-thats a national question that has nothing to do with the EU. and really im sorry social security is based on very deep rooted values out here it would be a huge discourse but anyway our societies depend on it.
madbcc 4 years ago
man we dont have less competition, we have a much greater and more transparent honest lawful continental wide competition. the whole point is to install a global space where we all cooperate and all our entreprises compete fairly etc
madbcc 4 years ago
just a question, how do you know that it's no free speech in europe? for there is, I can say whatever I want.
zazanza 4 years ago
For slavophile1: What do you mean "less competition"? Europe is based on the socialized market structure. This is a form of capitalist system. But it is secured as much as possible from fraud and corruption. I consider that very helpful and humanitarian.
nicolatwo 4 years ago
You are idealizing it. No system is safe from fraud and corruption. That being said, Europe is pretty damn good relatively speaking.
slavophile1 4 years ago
btw. didn't watch vid :( sry <3

The Euro's not bad, and open borders are fine as hell because it's only more convenient for everybody.
nlitement 4 years ago
of course you didnt watch it... or you wouldnt be telling that bs. you guys--im really sorry but its true--are just ignorant fools really mad at life in general and happy to bother others with your not self contained anger.

We can be true sovereign nations that work together where we see a common interest.
I don't want Poles,Germans,Greeks,Spanish,Italians,British, whatever telling me how to run my country.
I'm not them ok? I don't need to be like them, I don't want to be like them, they have there ways I have mine.
They don't want to be like me either!
Batavian187 4 years ago
man watch the video. no one is telling you how to run your country you moron your country is protecting its interests in the international scene. i know its a concept a bit hard to grasp, but you can do it.

I like the EU! But the EU needs to be more democratic.
angel2901 4 years ago
agreed :DDD
but any move towards direct democracy (to us the citizens) will be made at the expense of the states powers, not the comission/"EU" ones. that why democratization is so hard to obtain in the states-controlled EU. lol
thanks for passing by :))
madbcc 4 years ago
Not necessarily. We could expand the power of the european parliament. Or we could vote the president of the EU Commission directly. Its a long way to got for more democratization. But the new EU treaty is a first step.
angel2901 4 years ago
yes, but the european parliament gains power essentially at the expense of the council and its legislative control. the parliament has wide powers towards other institutions--for example, it has a "veto" choice in the formation of the Comission and can dissolve it once its formed. it can do all kinds of enquiries and set up all kinds of comissions about all kinds of issues. this is democracy.
madbcc 4 years ago
Yes, but I still think we need more direct democrazy. And very important: The people in the states have to understand the importance of the european election. Many people dont care and dont go to vote. Because they dont know about the power the EU and its institutions today have. We all need to be more European.
angel2901 4 years ago
yes yes i agree i was just saying its basically a question of political will on the part of the sovereign members, not on the part of the Comission :DD so we have to figh for our rights "against" our presidents and prime ministers, not "the EU". thats all i meant; youre totally right we do need more democratization and maybe a new kind of one too :P lol i dont know
madbcc 4 years ago
There are a lot of things that needs to be done. Together - as Europeans - we can do it! :)
angel2901 4 years ago
go Europe lol :DD
madbcc 4 years ago
anyway the enhanced power of the European Court of Justice in the protection of the citizens rights will also always be at the expense of the states power. the court of justice makes the state respect rights of EU citizens which are not contemplated in the national legal frame. etc etc etc
have a nice day:)))
