@VannahWilson It was a home computer, popular in the late eighties - early nineties which, despite the fact that it was far ahead of its time (e.g. it had preemptive multitasking which windows only has since windows 2000) - failed unfortunately. Actually, the video is cramped full with insider jokes from the Amiga scene.

@VannahWilson It was quite the rage for a while at least by the standards of that time. It failed mostly due to mismanagement imho. Commodore, which made it, put the money they made with amiga in their pc segment (which wasn't competitive with other pc manufacturers) and in developing a follow up to the C64 with many but not all the capabilities the amiga already had. There where many platforms around that time, many better then what pcs had to offer. All of them failed against Microsoft/IBM.

The Amiga was legend much more than its graphics, as there were computers far more powerful than the Amiga. It was the over-all package that made the Amiga.

Amiga came out 1984 and it took 11 years for PC to match up and surpass. And the irony is that Commodore died because they made huge loss with their PC clone business since their Amiga sector was profitable.

@Evil1gel Not to be a party-pooper but both the NATAMI and the X1000 are just vaporware at the moment. And if they do come out, what are the advantages of owning one? The original Amiga was unique as that no one had ever seen a computer that offered so much in a affordable price point. That's not the case anymore.

If any of them come out, it will sell to enthusiasts probably but that's about it.

Yeah, you are right, todays "Amigas" are (or will be) in the best way compatible fanware for enthusiasts and no PC- or PS3-beating machines BUT thinking of kicking the ass of an omnipotent, giant PC-market or hardware without billions of bucks and a huge comapny behind will be stupid at last.

NATAMI will be finally the first little 68k-step out of the past without forgetting it! With graphs somewhere around PS2 and new abilities! Who like his Amiga will sure LOVE this - simple as that.

XP is good too,bit buggy but far lighter.

Sad part that most OS for PC are fucking heavy,and you need good hardware just to run OS,thats why I still use XP,when I work with demanding games.
