It was not an armed insurrection against the ruler, rather a peaceful call for change, but an 86 ear old stone hard ruler would not listen, so Allah caused the resutl-he left, yet the future is uncertain without a moderate approach. Religion in this part of the world is not like in the west-it is taken more seriously
It was amr ibn alaas who praised the romans and not the prophet, just refer back to sahih muslim in kitab alfitan but i guess suhaib wouldnt know that and by the way ,those who say that the demonstrations are haram do not say that those who demonstrate are going to hell!!!suhaib just wants to justify him telling his friend to shut up
Rebeliion against an unjust and despot ruler is permissible and even required in Islam;. Please watch the "Shari3a and Life" in Al-Jazeera Arabic Channel around 13th February where Shaikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawy refutes your belief that is widespread among Hanbali madhhab.
Also, Shaikh Hakim Al- Mateeri reply to Al-Jazeera shows the fallacy of this belief, his comment has been uploaded on Youtube by several brothers, One of those clips is "watch?v=18mDi9TusxA"
@entifain jazakallah brother for the info. but i am confused. what about the many strong hadith in bukhari and muslim saying many times to listen and obey your ruler even if he beats you and siezes you. And if you dislike what they do, do not rebel as long as they establish salat. I mean the sahabas didn't do it at the time they were even worse treated in makkah, imaam ahmad didn't do it. and isn't this imitating the kuffar? and all these egyptians are calling for democracy anyway.
Shaikh Suhaib, Ive replied with a vid from Ayman Dhawahiri dating 2008, talking about massive strikes and demonstrations by the people against the regime; this is in response to ur claim that they didnt want peaceful protests
Thank you so much for posting this! I was so disappointed that I had not been able to attend. And this morning I find this. What a nice surprise. JAK!
Jazakakkah khairan ... salam from Malaysia :) May Allah swt blessed you by opening a wide path in your dakwah missions. InsyaAllah.
