good cover, but the way I'd play it is in the beginning play a bass C an octave lower than you are now with your pinky and in unison with the first E/G chord and alternate between that chord and middle C x3 then play a bass E with your LH, while you play G/B - mid C x1with your right,  then bass F and F/A - mid C x3, other than that you have it!

good done, couple of tips; if you play this with the actual song in the background, you'll hear a difference, that's because the actual song is played in a different key, you should use the black ones and instead of the C, it's should be a B

bD+bG B and repeat that (sorry can't explain better) but anyway, its a good job

I too can play this song, however I play a much more complicated and thicker version. Also I might mention that your playing an octave too high and leaving out much of the left hand and sixtienth notes that John threw in. Good work though none the less.

dear drumfisk, studying the record imagine, it is quite clear john overdubbed multi-piano parts.

chords in different inversions and the middle riff from C major/major 7 to E/E7. there is no way to duplicate the record with just one piano part. john also plays imagine live at madison square and on mike douglas, each time he plays it a little different. but he never plays it like the record because the record is overdubbed. zapdunga

watch the "imagine" documentary and there is a short clip of john playin imagine for klaus voorman and you'll see his left hand only hits one note in the bass and let's it ring while the right hand does everything else, also even though he's playing in c it is tuned down to B somehow, very strange?

Thanks for your comments. Actually I thought that your previous comment was referring to the 'rehearsal' video. It is one of my favourites and he does indeed play it that way ie with the lower C and F. He also plays the right-hand part a different way. Perhaps the difference in pitch is a result of the film recording.

you are very close, but john plays a lower c with his pinky left hand, let's it ring while his thumb left hand does octave c to do the riff with right hand which you do correctly, and then moves pinky left hand to an f in the bass with the thumb still on c doing riff with right hand, you are continuously doing a c in the bass(and an octave too high) and not moving to the f.other than that you've got it down pretty well.

Yes. He starts to sing "you may..." about half-way through the (F)AC-F-AC-F, then sings "say I'm a" bang on the (G)BD-G-BD-G, then "dreamer" bang on the (C)EG-C-GB-C. His phrasing is similar throughout the chorus.
