The minuet and forty second buildup is good if you are listening to this song by itself and for the sake of critical listening. But if this was on my playlist I would probably skip it to keep the flow going. Excellent song though.

I have to disagree with that. Long buildups make you appreciate the song. After listening to a good intro, the drop will be worth the wait and it will sound alot better. You know that feeling when you get chills while listening to good music? I never get them if the song instantly builds up.

I think the quietness at the beginning is PERFECT. It's the avalanche scene set to music. They were being incredibly quiet so as to not start an avalanche, which matches the subdued beat perfectly. Then the introduction of the drums increased the tension more and more, simulating Fluttershy's nervousness. It all built up to her outburst, and then all hell broke loose when the rocks (and the base) started dropping.

I haven't experienced that satisfying of a drop since Omnipony's "Dragon Greed".
