@vik2008USA hey not at all !!! But the south has been and still remains ignored. When we think of India, we think primarily of Mumbai, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat and probably Tamil Nadu sometimes.
Remember we are more diverse than Europe.!!! And we need to apppreciate all our cultures. Especially the North East which has been ignored more than any of the other Cultures.
@vik2008USA And I urge you to please please visit Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Especially the Southern parts of TN.. trust me, their soft power is being taken for granted and they have had more influence on foreign countries, especially SE Asia more than any other part of India. The cultures in Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka are heavily influenced by the Cholan empire. Yu must visit and relish their arts and architecture. Get a breath of fresh air !
@binoyrakesh I agree with what you have written. There could be influence of cholan empire, although i will research it. but whole world knows indians by their dark skin and curry smell although its not true. For me, most of problems i faced n terrible times i had r due to the reason that i am not from South.I never thought that south indians are different but here in US, you will have hard time if you are not one of them.I realized what it takes to be north indian when i came across petty lives
@vik2008USA Pricks like that exist everywhere. But I have a very mixed upbringing - bengali telugu, raised in Chennai.. so i got a chance to learn many languages and In the US< I made friends with many people from around India.
@binoyrakesh nice to have insight from you. Ya it always helps when you have been to different places. I have been around the world but not within India, so i end up like that. :)
@vik2008USA yeah, i was just pointing to the fact that inside India, we tend to group with people or our region.. in the US, people become more starved of India and hence are more willing to move with anyone from anywhere. Its a good feeling we get when we meet another Indian from a totally different culture and language.
Love my India..>!!!!!!
