The woman to the right of Mrs. Palin is modestly overweight. The image makes this clear. Both the interviewer and Mrs. Palin are very normal in, shall we say, their frontal protusion of girth.

She doesn't look 6-7 months pregnant. Ms. Breslau, who conducted the interview, has written that she didn't realize Palin was pregnant.

If it is true that Bristol missed school for month, than Occam's razor about the simplest explanation being right fits neatly.
