was taking stills aswell and, most importantly, watching the event with my eyes not a viewfinder. The whole thing took about 40 mins.....The camera, and luckily my wife unit, didnt see the worst part; when the croc started to break up the gazelle, an unborn baby gazelle came out of the gazelles stomach and was snapped up by the closest croc...

THANKYOU! few comments about the shaking, hard to explain but i'll have a go... the footage was taken from above on the riverbank but could not be seen from the jeep sat down or even stood on the seats...so i stood on top of the roll cage of the jeep allowing me to get the camera about, land rover + roll cage + 6'4" off the ground.Bare foot, 6cm diameter bars, nearly 3.5m off the ground (7m drop to the crocs!) and seeing the most amazing thing i have ever seen in my life, equals camera shaking!

Outrageous footage. So cool. I hitch hiked to and camped with a couple Maasai border guards not far from the Kenya/Tanzania border, in '72. Only had an instamatic camera back then. Maasai Mara was very cool. Saw crocs following our barge when crossing some rivers on my way from Mombasa to Lamu. Just a couple of feet away just hoping someone would fall overboard. Africa is mind blowing isn't it?

@rwalter23 Hey dude, he doesb't keep the camera still because most of these clips are phony, set-ups! Most of the stuff here is learned behavior, some of it is filmed on a farm with tame animals. Anyway, one thing you can bet on, the animel is not going to attack you as a human if it can see your human form. Humans are not in the food chain, simple.

It's a Thomson's gazelle. The dark stripe along it's side is a dead giveaway. Impalas don't have that stripe.

i've been to richards camp!!! is easily the most special safari camp in Kenya! Richards family have pretty much pioneered eco-tourism in Kenya and do an amazing job with the local Masia not to mention protecting the Rhino!

was so good at Richards Camp, forget your Balloon safari get into Richards Cessna!! they want every body to have the best safari you could have and it works, beautiful unpretentious luxury, truly honest staff and intentions, couldn't believe how nice the food/tent/staff were. not going to bore you anymore travel show stuff just go there at least once in your life if you can!
