Kojima is a mastermind by creating Metal Gear. MG1 and 2 are still very enjoyable even now. Before you all start whining for a remake, go actually play the real deal first and see for yourself how good it was and still is.

@solidnoata I understand what you mean, it involves a lot of back tracking and trial and error on where you have to go. A guy called Bagman created a walkthrough for both MG1 and MG2 on GameFaqs which will help you greatly. If you haven't completed MG2 yet give it s shot. And you're right about MG2 having the best soundtrack.

In MG1 Theme Of Tara gets very repetitive as it's mostly all you hear. But MG2 mixes it up a lot more and is easier to listen too.

That's what I love about this game. Zanzibar Land is so big (for an 8-bit game) that you can get lost in it. And it rewards you for exploration (like that tape.) Because of this, combined with the clever use of environments, textures, music etc, ZL feels like a real military fortress.

MGS1 and 2 were both actually very linear compared to this game. And 3, 4, and PW just seems like a straight line.

Indeed, it's well worth obtaining for Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, alone.

I wish Kojima would put these versions of Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 up for download on PSN or XBOX Live.

@thechosen2010 maybe kojima should also release metal gear 1 and 2 on the virtual console as well so far those two metal gear games are now on the wii virtual console in japan so hopefully if nintendo could allow you to play msx games on the american and eroupe wii virtual console maybe we may get metal gear 1 and 2 one can only hope

@xXCrAzYvIdSXx The colleciton was released less than a month after this post, and he asked about a year ago before it was even announced. I'd rather have a remake of the game, since most people would have never played the actual original of the game. And it might seem approprate to retcon the series a bit for the first two games .
