Placido Domingo más que un cantante es arte. Muchos (incluyéndome) prefieren a Luciano Pavarotti. La verdad ambos son sublimes, pero con diferentes colores de voz. Tampoco hay que dejar de lado a José Carreras quién también canta No Puede Ser magistralmente.

Corelli, Del Monaco, Bjorling, Tucker, Di Stefano, Caruso, Lanza, and on and on go's the list that had better tenor voices then Domingo, for goodness sake's Domingo couldn't even sing a High C always had everything transposed down. Just because he sang this 1 song beautifully doesn't make him the greatest tenor.

I have to agree with Etnalleb, this certainly WAS Domingo's night. One side note - Zubin was almost more fun to watch than the singers - and he's NOT acting. He actually feels the music as keenly as the singers and also knows all of the words. He has said he feels he IS the music, which is something I have always felt - long before he said it.

I'm not a Domingo fanatic but this was HIS Night, and this was the very best i've ever heard Domingo sing. He put both Carreras (who struggled the whole night) and Pav in the shadows with his performance this night. On a side note lets award Zubin Mehta the Oscar for best acting hahaha. Bravo Placido !!! Perfecto.

Domingo couldn't even reach a High C but cheated and had everything he sang from Trovatore to Faust transposed down as much as a whole tone. Domingo is a faux pas tenor , should have stayed a baritone.

Too many points to argue on but Pavarotti....had a natural modal voice and did not need much training and that is rare in itself..Both are/were talented and gifted.
