  • Wow the top gear garage used to be so less crowded back then.

  • LOL

  • Top gear always throw things around

  • press 2 twice

  • I love this show so much...

  • press shut up and watch the vid properly.

  • press 1

  • Press 7 - sounds like your mum every Wednesday night

  • OMG. HOLD 5 AND LOOK AT HAMMOND!!!!!

    LOOOOOOL!! :D

  • PRESS AND HOLD 2 :d james may is like tea,tea,tea ;D

    333333333333

  • lol. press and hold 5.

  • Bomb away!

  • Top Gear is the best show ever.

  • plop

  • 0:40 wtf

  • to all u britts buy a pick up truck to pull your so called caravans by american

  • @Buddysautomart

To all you residents of the USA: they barely sell pick up trucks in Europe, and even where they do I doubt anyone would buy them. Because we are civilised (ie, live in cities), and you are barbarians (ie, have beards). Also, learn how to speak the Queen's English correctly, you buffoon.

  • itd be funnier if the crosswinds knocked the crane over

  • In the video the drop takes 3 second to do but it is slowed down so if the drop lasts 2 seconds in real life using calculations i figured out it reached only 43 mph without even including air resistence,

  • @foelstudios wtf you need to get laid.

  • that's cheating, cuz you do have to "tow" the caravan... it can't move under it's own power

  • @ivankoran well techically it wernt moving under its own power either XP it just........was dropped XP

  • @ivankoran

Did a caravan ever move on its own power on an open road(which therefore excludes these so called "movers")??

  • Electromagnetism is a zillion times stronger than gravity, james.

  • @daveescape01 and Strong nuclear is even stronger than that

  • @timwilliamanderson

    Inter-atomic forces?

  • 0:50 haha

  • also... the strong nuclear force is a LOT more powerful than gravity.

  • @jensenzo you've managed to find something boring about something really cool.

  • In soviet Russia, you don't tow caravan. Caravan tows you.

  • fuck you caravans makers fuck you. why dont just throw one of em into a 747 jet engine that'll shred them to pieces i think : D

  • @aizac91

sounds like a good idea! Top Gear: ambitious but rubbish!

  • hey why'd you skip out the part were jeremy and hammond make a joke with those toy kittens

that was the best bit :(

  • wonder what kind of video camera they use for the show -quality and color is amazing

  • Hmm a ver a ver... :-p

Velocidad Final = Aceleracion * Tiempo

    VF= 9.81m/s (gravedad) * 4 s (duracion caida)

    VF = 39.4m/s

    1m/s = 3.6Km/h

    VF = 141.84 Km/h

    1Km/h = 0.621371192 Mi/h

VF = 88.13 Mi/h en el momento de impacto (at the moment of impact)

  • i don't know if that was faster than 125 mph but i don't car LoL

  • Their compressed air cannon over the quarry would probably do it.

  • If I had to do that challenge I would have made sure there was some sort of extremely efficient axle on that caravan. I'm sure the drag on a 20 year old one doesn't help when trying to be pulled.

  • lol it turned into a pancake

  • I hate "caravans" too... well RV's Theres millions of them during tourist season... try passing 4 50+ foot Rv's on an alaskan highway.

  • In Australia, caravans are often called Grey Nomads; retired people getting out into the countryside and clogging up major highways in the process. What's worse is if you get a convoy of them, and you're in a hurry to deliver something And you're behind the wheel of a truck that requires some speed for momentum in hill climbing!

  • yeah that would suck...

  • Yeah but still ammarican caravans are far better

  • @Mechknight73 I hope you weren't stuck behind convoy of caravans in a road train...

  • @ta666ak666 No, but I have been driving 8 tonne trucks, which are almost as difficult to overtake caravans in, because the Australian design rules limit them to 100km/h

  • @Mechknight73 that was a two lane road, you'd easily bypass the caravan when no car coming from the other way....i dnt see the fuss....

is it on camera that you have to be strict abt road lines?

  • @radiofm89 Mostly because the road was a twisty windy thing, and it's just about international law that says you can't pass on double white lines. There's a variety of hazards to consider; sudden fog, stray animals and of course the perennial English rain lol

  • 0:14 xD,

but what's wrong with English people and hate caravans?

  • One lane B roads between most local areas and obvious a caravan vacation spot right in the middle of the green. Do Guess!

  • There's nothing wrong with English people, nor is there anything wrong with hating caravans.

  • The Top Gear viewership has got to be some of the densest people on the planet.

  • I lol'd

  • With all their talk of monster horse power vehicles and lightening fast cars and THEY failed to pull a caravan faster than 125 mph !!!! bunch of posers IMO. First of all they had the wrong brand of trailer should have been an Airstream ! Try again Boys.

  • ok... now do a part 4, with a helecopter and some thick cable...

  • Ever noticed the 747 on the runway these days? :)

  • ... perhaps ... but they don't have to get up to a 20 thousand feet :D

    ... I think

  • wrong

  • so your saying that they have to make it go higher than 20 Thousand feet.... to make it go as fast as hundred and something(forgot the record :S)

... 20 thousand feet is pretty high....

  • no sorry ur right i thought u said it would have to be at 20,000 feet lol

  • haha.... that happens way to often for me(the misunderstanding part)

  • @DavySigfusson Too bad a caravan's terminal velocity is less than 128mph...

  • Tabbogle is correct the terminal velocity is 142 kph or less, because when positve gravity comes mass dosnt matters.

  • Fastest creature on the planet is the Peregrine Falcon, recorded at 390 kph ...or 242.3 mph for us non-metric types. In random posture a human has a terminal velocity of about 125 mph, but in "bullet-like" posture by an experienced skydiver may reach about 210 mph.

  • wonder if they left the teapot and crokery from the previous two parts lol

  • They left some stuff in it. You can see a ceramic dish falling at 0:41. This is awesome.

  • lolz! epic

  • That's not a Caravan, that's a motorhome. Here I was hoping for some crazy bastard to slap a twin turbo Viper engine in the back of his Caravan and run a 7.5 second quarter mile or hit 225 at Bonneville.

    Weaksauce.

  • A-Greed

  • What was the blue car in the back? Looked kinda like a lotus

  • Opel Speedster or Vauxhall VX220, same car either way. Probably Vauxhall looking at the wheels.

  • not including air resistance, if it fell exactly 4 seconds it'll be going approximately 87.7 mph or 141.1 km/h

  • everything falls at 9.8m/s^2, so if it reached maximum velocity it fell 21.7 mph

  • no... the equation to calculate final velocity w/ constant acceleration is v(f) = v(i) + ta. Given: v(i) = 0, t = 4, a = 9.8. Just simply plug in 0 + 9.8 x 4 and you get 39.2 m/s. type in "39.2 meters per second to miles per hour" in google search and it'll come up with 39.2 (meters per second) = 87.6879026 miles per hour.

  • damn just needed about another 1.4 mph to jump back into the future ;)

  • Comment removed

  • do you really think that the maximum velocity for everything is 21.7 mph? a human falling at terminal velocity goes well over 200 mph.

  • if your looking at it from an atomic stand point, but i believe he was just referring to gravity pulling a constant 9.81 m/s^2 acceleration as being the most powerful engine (and most economical)

  • shut the fuck up freaks lol

  • "i don't know if it passed 128 miles per hour but i really don't care" lol

  • yup, its the weakest. nuclear is the most powerful.

  • try telling that to the blackhole

  • It's called terminal velocity. 4331.6 m/s? That's just stupid...

  • You, sir, are a moron. Even the most aerodynamic item can't freefall faster than about 200 mph. It's called wind resistance. An object could only achieve that speed in a vacuum

  • isnt it 9.81m/s?

(im from belgium so we use meters and not miles or feet)

but you are right about the vacuum

  • yeh dude. air resistance does play a role in falling rate, and eventually equals the pull of gravity (terminal velocity). For a human, its about 144 mph.

  • I'd smash it too if it messed up a good engine in part 2

  • That's weak? You're a whiner

  • They got close, but they didn't beat the record. At least with the indoor speed challenge they set something. They've destroyed several Caravans on this show, in grander style.

  • Pause it at 0:43 !

  • I would of love to see that in slow motion the caravan smashed like a brick

  • did they ever say how fast it actually fell?

  • Nope.

  • That was brilliant to watch.

  • hahaha love top gear!!!

  • "I'm not sure that WAS faster than 125 mph, but I don't care!" LOL

  • @TheGeek1028 neither do i XD

  • hahaha =)

  • when dose the new season comes out

  • November 15th

  • this is too epic....

  • Aha, that's more like it!!!

  • i hate caravans

  • er i left my cat in a caravan has enyone seen it?

    lol

  • gravity is the weakest of the four known forces

  • known to whom? :)

  • the whole world

  • human kind

  • hey jeremy, richard and james, you made a spelling mistake on your video description!

  • Just like the Mercedes advertisement that boasted "automatic emergency breaking" Car companies these days.

  • LOL

  • the funny is that they hate caravans and love distroying them

  • the newest episodes are quite good quality

  • nice... Who cares about caravans?

  • forces in order from strongest to weakest: strong, electromagnetic, weak, gravity.

Strong acts mostly within atomic nuclei. Electromagnetic acts mostly interatomically, gravity acts on anything with mass, and the weak forces mostly has to do with radioactive decay.

  • um actually wrong gravity is also strong, hell it keeps the billions of tons of planets in orbit so your are half wrong!, gravity also bends light so its also the strongest force

  • You're talking about a net force from gravity, not the actual gravitational force.

Gravity is the weakest force by far. It's 10^25 times weaker than the weak force, and, weaker still than the electromagnetic and strong. This is why a small magnet can hold a screw while the entire gravitation force of earth acts opposite.

Also, gravity doesn't bend light. Matter changes the geometry of space-time. The fact that the path of light gets bent is incidental.

  • Comment removed

  • Gravity is the weakest force in the galaxy...trust me. Think of it this way, if we had a magnet the size of a planet, and we had a normal planet, which would suck in a piece of metal faster? A small magnet has the power to lift away pieces of metal from the ground, effectively relieving them from the earth's gravitational field. If a small magnet can out do the entire planet's gravitational pull, gravity isn't very strong is it? Many astrophysicists believe that gravity is "leaking" somehow.

  • Wrong you can't judge a magnets strength on it's power but on the way the metal "parts" are aligned with north and south all aiming in the same direction for each "part". So please go home or just watch this and have a good laugh like I did.

  • First of all, that was just a reply to somebody else's comment(I enjoyed the vid very much, thank you). And are you actually saying that a magnet the size of, say, a small rock and the actual rock have an equal amount of pull on metallic objects around them? True, strength varies greatly among magnets, but it is the fact that relatively small magnets CAN exert more gravitational pull than their nonmagnetic counterpart which tells us that gravity is indeed weak in comparison to other forces.

  • of course... electromagnetical force is like hundreds of thousends times more powerful than gravity... which is why a magnet can carry other magnet without being pulled to the earth ( wich HAS to be thousends of times bigger than a magnet to produce the same amount of force)

  • name i use on internet is caitríona but its almost the sme as my nme in real life

  • LOL

  • If a car can drive up a steep hill fast, it's kicking gravity's ass.

  • lol love it

  • but i dont care :D

  • well.. how fast did it go ????

  • Well just fire a nuke at the caravan and I can guarantee a speed of about 500+ mph...

But of course the BBC wouldn't allow them to nuke a part of England...XD

I guess gravity will work, but it looks like the pavement did most of the work

  • But the point was to make it fast :D I just love the way Top Gear does things...

  • They did, but in a, say, a lazy man's way... =)

  • he said most powerful engine in the universe not the strongest of the four fundemental forces but your are right the nuclear forces are stronger

  • so is electomagnetics, the forth force

  • 'nuclear force' (whatever that is) isn't one of the 4 fundamental forces.

  • yeah it is, theres strong nuclear force (holds protons and neutrons together), weak nuclear (holds atoms together), gravity, and electromagnetic.

  • uhh gravity is the most powerful force in the universe... esp if it comes from a black hole... it is soo strong not even light can escape ouf of it xD

  • gravity is the weakest force...

  • but its probably the surest force.

  • is this season 14?

  • series 2

  • 2nd season

  • Actually, the gravitational force is the weakest of the four fundamental forces...

  • correct awnser

  • lol are they that bad? i think its funny to watch what they do to them and how a random one pops up in every vid hahaha

  • what's lockerz?

  • yeah thats what it gets for destroying an evo engine!!, bet that evo didnt want to see his mates in a hurry after the caravan popped his piston lol kiddin

  • 87.7 mph is my optimistic calculation. I don't think it really broke the record lol

  • use a roket just like you did for the relient roket :P

  • Top Gear Videos are polluted with advertising..its irritating

  • alot of the tv programmes on youtube have advertising, its another way theymake money...

  • quite the contrary, the TV show's manager or whatever

PAYS that he'll get that little square says 'Top Gear'

or whatever he / she wants it to be.

just like advertising in the paper...

  • that was awesome ive seen on tv like 100 times i wish they drop a house off a crane next time

  • that sucked i wanna see it towed to 130 not smashed....again...for the 5000th time

  • beautiful

  • Just plain fun all these caravan smashing videos. Hate those slow, wide, high ugly boxes on wheels with handling like Bambi on ice rolling long our roads. Let's just say I've wanted a James Bond car little now and then when getting up behind one of these annoying pieces of crap on our roads... Keep smashing 'em all, maybe we'll one day won't see them on our roads again. /B13

  • nice

  • LOL HIS BOOK WAS UPSIDE DOWN

  • ít's not, look again

  • what is it with these guys in destroying caravans in all of there vids hahaha

  • I-M-B-E-C-I-L-E-S

  • dat elise in the back it sxy

  • Not an elise. Too big, And it looks that the rear headlamps are different. Thats probably a Eurvora, Or however you spell it.

  • finaly a new video

  • but the camera quality is bad though, so...

they were getting rid of old useless stuff?

  • "but i don't cayyyyyyy"

    hahahaah

  • he's holding the book upside down when the scene starts.. some poor video guy will be scolded for this haha

  • good eyes...i never even noticed it was upside down....lol

  • he meant strongest engine, he's pretty much saying that gravity can make anything move LOL

  • Gavity is not the most powerful force in the universe. magnets would make that thing move 100 times faster.

  • Well he said engine, not force.

Not that gravity's an engine either.

  • exactly. He implies that his "engine" will be the most powerful force in the universe. I'd expect him of all people to know it's not.

  • sorry meant he of all people should know that GRAVITY is not the most powerful force in the universe.

  • could magnets make the earth revolve around the sun the way it does?

  • A fraction of the force that a refrigerator magnet (the force of friction between the magnet and the fridge) is enough to out do the force of an entire planets gravity acting on that magnet and a stack of papers. Gravity is an incredibly weak force. And yes if you were to find a big enough magnet it could easily keep the earth in orbit. Just look at the gravity and magnetic constants.

  • gravities strength only applies to the size of the object. For example i can lift a cup off the table. However i couldnt pull the earth out of orbit, that would be impossible unless you got an object with higher density then the sun to pull is somewhere else

  • a tiny magnet can counter act the gravitational pull of the entire earth. A tiny magnet can suspend a small metallic object in mid air even though the entire gravitational pull of the earth is trying to stop it. If there was a magnet the size of the sun the force it would create could make the entire galaxy it's bitch!

  • you couldn't possibly be that stupid... if you let go of the magnet, what would happen, smartass??? damn those nasa guys, instead of pulling the spaceship with a magnet they r using a shitload of fuel... would have never guessed it, you;re a regular einstein... that goes 4 user1123whatever and tomcatdcn too

  • Wow, thanks for being an asshole. Didn't know rocket scientists watched top gear.
