  • What clear coat are you using in your works?

  • @Vedbal1986 In glass etching nothing. In paint work House of Kolor UC 35 from coastairbrush(dot)com

  • careful with the powdered glass it tends to create bad effect to skin

  • @tootsiewow Ooooook.

  • Ed, absolutely love your work. You are truly gifted. I am interested in doing some glass etching with the air eraser. I have found and purchased the Air Eraser but my question is about the compressor. I noticed yours is really quiet. Can you give me some models that I can purchase, that I can also use indoors. My studio is my second bedroom in a condo so i'd like to keep the noise down as much as possible. Thanks for the info in advance!

  • @vitaminA213 Write my e-mail and I will show you the one to get.fullblownkustoms@gmail(dot)com

  • Nicely done ...one question did you have to fill the pot up after you did first time what i mean to say is did it etch all what we see with one fill

    Dave

  • @daveawebber Yes it needed to be filled a couple of times.

  • Just found this video Ed, are you able to use this with your white masking film/paper we use for cutouts when we airbrush or do you need actual tape? Again Ed, I'm always impressed by what you do and have a ton of my friends now watching your videos, Thanks from all of us. Your friend....Wolfman

  • @lostatbirth1967 Thanks man. Ya I use transfer paper to do the etching.

  • I've used the same one and also clogs a lot,had to have a really good moisture trap and helped.Master has one I'm gonna get and see if it's better.Products do look pretty cool when finished.

  • Ed - After watching your videos I knew I had to try this! I used the central pneumatic air eraser and aluminum oxide abrasive. I completed my project and it looked okay but I had more sand on and around me than on my project. Had to refill lots and it seemed to clog. Is there a difference in materials and air erasers? Before I buy a better one I was hoping to get your opinion.

  • @3Martelles I have only used the one in the video, but I have tried other compounds and they do not work as good as the air eraser compound.

  • This is awesome haha. Miniature sandblasting, I've always wanted to be able to freehand sandblast glass rather than having to use masking for everything. It also seems like this air eraser thing would be really easy to clean. I suppose you could use this thing to prep metal areas that are hard to reach sanding right?

  • @BeyondTheReckoning I have only used it for what you see in the video.

  • Loved the video. Will visit your web site. What type of air compressor is needed?

  • hi! where do i get an air eraser pls, i need info i want to start it at my own home and i do wanna learn more

  • @donnalee1972 You can pick the eraser up at your local hobby store.

  • @donnalee1972 Have a look on ebay mate ,theres a few floating around :).

  • hi! where do i get an air eraser pls, i need info i want to start it at my own home

  • My last name is hubbs

  • @XboxZen WE RELATED?

  • @edhubbs hahaha i dont know ? :P

  • @XboxZen Where do you live?

  • @edhubbs Usa. thats as far as ill say haha sorry

  • @XboxZen See ya.

  • This is amazing! I'm trying to get into glass etching but the only courses I've found are the Etchmaster schools' but they are in New Mexico and I live in NY. I'd eventually like to get into on site etching like you for boats, houses, showers, tables etc... It seems like such a big world, so much to discover and so many techniques and applications! Any advice on where to start?

  • Hey ed, I was wondering what psi you do this at?

  • @t3ltho3st3r 40

  • hi ed, ordered my eraser today, i was wondering, is it possible to use masking film for masking with blasting sand ? or is it scratching too fast.

  • @mcnag Yes you can I do all of the time.

  • hey ed disturbedrocker1 again i was wondering when the full length video on your site will be out.. i looked and didnt see it thx again-AJ

  • @disturbedrocker1 Been to busy doing other projects at the moment. But yes I am still going to produce one.

  • @edhubbs ok cool looking forward to it keep the awsome videos coming

  • @disturbedrocker1 Will do thank you.

  • you are a god!

    awesome stuff!

  • @act2popcorn If I was God I would choose not to have any bills to pay.LOL

    Thanks

  • how do you think a central pneumatic air eraser(harbor freight brand) would work for a first air eraser to see if i like it?

  • @disturbedrocker1 Yes it will work

  • where can u buy an air eraser? id look at your website but not seem to find it?

  • @Laleyenda83 coastairbrush(dot)com

  • I've always wondered how that was done, thanks for the video! I've been glass etching for quite some time now, but I don't have that air eraser.

  • @RTX94 Correction: Glass engraving, not etching. There's a slight difference, I guess.

  • I alway's wondered how they did that. Cool stuff.

  • @Joe11Blue Thanks

  • Ed is NOT the MAN his The MASTER!!! Try and "REMEMBER" that!

  • @trek9090 LOL Thank.

  • wow

  • ed hubbs your the man

  • @88scummy LOL Thanks

  • whats the model of the brush

  • @whatdeznuts pasche

  • @whatdeznuts and where do you phurchase it

  • Would this work if I wanted to do it on chrome?

  • @x3grumpy805 I have done it on chrome before and haven't had a problem.

  • dude you're the best

  • @huchcha19 NOPE I just try harder than most.LOL

  • @edhubbs the 30 years of experience shows....... so does the perseverance most ppl will give up on the first try ive already screwed up many vehicles tryin to spray paint with a can gotta try at with an airbrush

  • @huchcha19 Thanks

  • so what model is that ?

  • @Kentsboots Paschae

  • thanks for telling that i cant do sand in my iwata :-)))

greetings and thanks for posting this

  • I thought about not putting that in there and then again.LOL

  • thanks Ed.. very cool..i think i`m gonna give er a go..

  • Have some fun with it.

  • wow, that is really nice. Is it posible to do that on a car window? i'll see if i can get one!

  • Yes it is,but be careful and do a good job the first time because there is no second chance. You will have to buy a new window if you mess it up.

  • A whole new world just opened for me. Thanks Ed!

  • Stay tuned I just did two new ones this week end.And a lot more coming soon.

  • How about a short vid on engraving too? Thanks.

  • The engraving video is In the works.

I just videoed a advanced Etching one today and one showing my daughters etching also.

  • You paint as GOD!

  • LOL Thanks

  • great video

however I was wondering, I want to give small pieces of aluminum a nice matte finish. Would the air eraser work okay to do this?

  • Yes it would. They make a larger eraser also.

  • thanks Ed, but who makes the larger ones, paasche also?

  • Yes.

  • Awesome work Ed! I was wondering, how much of the eraser media will it normally go through for a larger project like the whitetail scene at the end of your video? I used to etch with a mild acid based paste called Armour-Etch... more time consuming and alot messier, and you can't get the detail like you can with the Air Eraser! You make it look easy as hell. Now I have to own one! LOL

  • One of those jars will last for about two of the Elk etchings.

  • Looks great Ed.. Do you paint some of it too? Looks like the dragonflies are painted a bit?

    Cheers :-)

  • No they are not painted. It is the reflection that makes it look like it is painted.

  • Cool vid Ed. Hey would that work on polished steel or stainless steel too?

  • I have done it on stainless before.

  • What compressor are you using?

  • Two 5 horse's in my body shop.

  • that 64 impala that he was talkin about is soo hard

  • What?

  • can you freehand with that thing or you have to tape everything you want to do?

  • You can free hand if you want to. I don't like the look personally.

  • I know what Im going to go buy tomorrow! thanks for the AWESOME idea for valentines day.

  • Your welcome

  • very cool im gonna have to try that out i think my mom would like it too

  • I know my Mom did.
