I'm a senior at East and I just want to say how ridiculous it is that Dr. K is being portrayed as the "bad guy" of the story. Nobody ever told Emma that she didn't have the right to say what she wanted. Dr. Krawitz is a GREAT principal who genuinely cares about his students. He did nothing wrong by asking, not demanding, that Emma apologize.

With all the confusion, its hard for people on the outside to understand.

When gov blowback's cronies came calling, he could have chosen to stand up for his student that he cares about. By "suggesting" she apologize, he essentially told her to give up her rights. There are lessons all around that can be learned from this. First, she's 18, an adult, and has a right to her opinion. I've heard a lot worse from people much older than her. The gov should have taken the high road and stated that she had this right. He could have used this as an example to ask her what specifically she didn't like, OR, simply ignore it. She could have been a little less tacky, but she's only 18,and again, we've all heard a lot worse. She should write a letter but not apologize.
