  • I know i'm refering to lion king but, what is the song the simba sings? "We Are One" that song has meanings in more than just one way. It means that we should learn to live with one another, but oh i forgot... If you look different, act different, talk different, and think different then you should just shut up and die right? WRONG! Wolves have feelings! They bleed the same color that we do. They kill to survive, we kill for sport and a trophy on the wall. it dont matter if your black, blue, etc

  • thats messed up

  • Results of this weeks public forum with the AK Board of Game. Native Alaskans and other subsistence hunters were WELL represented. Oh and the DOW folks were there WITH SIGNS. The results:

    - Hunters allowed to place snares on the ground or trees to catch black bears.

    - Hunters can fly into bear-bait and snaring camps using private helicopters

    - State employees will use poison gas to kill orphaned wolf pups in dens

    - Renewed existing wolf-kill programs

    Thanks Youtube!! ROTFLMFAO!

  • Very Educational. I love the politics of Game management. We have big problems here with managing for high numbers to appease certain factions of the hunting community. Sometimes it leads to long term habitat degredation. ...I'm neutral on the wolf thing.

  • sorry, accidentally gave u thumbs up.

  • Thanks!

  • What about the 1200-1400 wolves that are TRAPPED in Alaska every year people. Where's your sympathy? Ten times as many wolves are taken every year by trapping as were killed in this aerial wolf hunt. Doesnt it make sense to try and stop the death of many as opposed to that of a few? Is trapping more humane? What about the wolves that are shot on the ground by hunters with a $50 wolf tag on their permit? Where is your outrage? AHHH I didnt say the magic word...PALIN

  • HAHAHAHAHA oh wow, I didn't know those numbers. Thanx!

  • I am against aerial wolf hunting but I don't have a problem with the hunters hunting them on foot. If hunters wish to hunt wolves they should hunt them natures way.

  • Its not the wolves its the over population of humans think that over.

  • kougalover555-

    Think this over-

Alaska has less population per square mile than any other state in the U.S.

For a state 2 1/2 times the size of Texas it has only 1/6 the population of Houston alone. If you were talking about the over population of New York I would agree.

The wolves are being managed for many reasons in Alaska but not due to human over-population. The use of planes is just the least expensive way to perform the management.

  • Hi I have background on this issue. The state constitution requires mgrs to keep all animal pops at max. capacity. This includes moose/bou. And when the prey spp go into a severe decline which would continue w/o human intervention the state gets jumpy. Most Alaskans (like me) support predator mgmt as we perceive anti-hunting advocates as ani-prey & anti-constitution. The nat'l govt kills 85000 coyotes a year, but everyone screams about 200 wolves. Go to AK state webpage for accurate info. pls!

  • So then you clearly realize that wolf behavior inhibits the wolf to recognize and go for the weakest prey of game herds enabling the strength of the herd itself. The herd no longer has to care for the individuals that were slowing it down and in turn this strengthens the herd.Nature has been able to hold its own without human intervention since the beginning of time. Ever thought that its the human over population thats interfering?Think about it many humans have trouble coexisting with eachother

  • "Ever thought that its the human over population thats interfering"

Alaska has the lowest population density of any state in the union you ignorant fuckwit.

  • Okay, except people aren't don't chain their asses to chairs and travel OUTSIDE their residence to go hunting.Air travel has made that possible in modern day. Many travel each year to go to Alaska to go hunting on excursions and tours. Even in the 1970's people would blame wolves for mass killings when they found out it was a mass amount of people who killed the caribou and only took the parts they felt were important for trophy and left the rest of the carcass. I wasnt just referring to Alaska.

  • great video, thanks for posting this. ignore the trolls.

  • I'm an Alaskan w/a WLBio degree, two game wardens in my family. Aerial wolf hunting is illegal, except in the area where there are SO many wolves that ther are no moose, no caribou, no coyotes, no grouse, no hares, no anything but wolves. And, one must be a game warden or a biologist to be put on the list to hunt them to reduce their numbers in specific areas, so that the other members of the ecosystems can survive. ALL animals deserve to live in the biome, not just the ones you are attached to.

  • In the yukon they give wolves birth control meathods, and it keeps everyone happy....see canada has it right

So does Australia Australian wolves(dingoes)are protected and are seen as a special species,so why does australia have it right? Dingoes kill the pest introduced animals, also in africa african Hunting dogs almost became extinct because of hunting them 'for killing too much game' And the then there was the dreadful thylacine 'control' wolves are compaired to thylacines

  • This is a great video, the legislation needs to be changed, relocation of these animals is the only humane way of dealing with the problem.
