I feel you man. There ARE a lot of young brothas playing instruments, but you rarely hear them on the radio...UNLESS you're listening on Sunday mornings. R&B and "neo-soul" are STAGNANT. Most of the innovation and development is going on in gospel. So many of the funkateers of yesteryear have gone BACK to the the church, and that's where the legacy is being passed along. A lot of us that DO play aren't on the radio, but we're doing our best to keep the funk alive! PEACE!
