no. It records in the .MOV format. Pretty clear though with low file sizes using the H.264 compression. I use ArcSoft video impression to edit mine. you can also cut the videos on the camera directly

jut .MOV files unfortunately. The big downside to this is that it is hard to find a program that edits those files.

My main memory card I use is a Sandisk Ultra II 2 GB. Also have a few misc 2 gigs and 1 gig cards.

It has the little screw thing on the bottom for a tripod, so yes.
