The reason y denver doesnt start him is cuz they want energy, a spark and someone who can score off the bench.

If he starts then he will have to wait for melo and billups to take their shots and wont get tht many and his average will go down.

If he comes off the bench he can run the offence and the second unit, and he can take as many shots as he basically wants and thts all the qualties of a 6th man which jr smith is .

I lived in Denver last year, the Nuggets were on Altitude all the time and I went to 5 games, 2 of which were playoff games and I was 8 rows off the floor, so I had a good look at what was going on. So, JR Smith still takes way too many shots. It's fine when he's hitting them, but once he makes one he won't stop shooting. This is a big reason why he doesn't start. He's good as a spark off the bench, but he's too trigger happy to start. And he is not very good running the offense.
