  • Throwing money (trillions) at the folks who started the problems in the first place. isn't an answer. Haven't they proven that their greed is bottomless? The reason for so many forclosures is home owners wanting outrageous prices for thier homes. We are all so God Damned greedy that we think this house is worth 400,000 dollars... well it isn't... it's worth 40,000. The market will prove that again... Stop pointing fingers at other people.

  • right back at you small man. get a life

  • Obama said it will take time for all issues to be addressed and changed and that you will not see an immediate turnabout. Give him a chance and understand that the problems that the republicans are giving him they didn't do to bush. Look at the footage again there are things that are just not in the bill that reps. are saying is in there. Dems are trying show that and pres didn't have to go public with this but he did. And FYI I make 60k a year and my health coverage is the same:)

  • B.Obama's Health Care Proposal.... Will it redeem America's people? American opinion's are important!!! Come to my channel and learn more.

  • Brass is an ass-ooo!

  • GOP has never cared about the average working American, this vote shows that once again...didn't know we had so many rich people in this country that would such greedy bastards...I must have been wrong, indeed there are many, many greedy bastards here.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS The greed here is on the part of the Democrats and the FEDERAL government, not the people. I am the average working American and I don't want the government running my healthcare. They are the ones causing the problem of rising costs, NOT the insurance companies.

  • @CommonSenseJoe - really, I think you need to change your user name to NoCommonSenseJo...how much stock do you own in insurance Jo? Because that's the only reason I can see that you would defend insurance companies.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS I am not defending anyone. Insurance companies are NOT the problem and never were. The President and media want you to think that the insurance companies are ripping you off. It is the government through Medicare and Medicaid that is ripping you off. They are under paying providers by 80% and 60% respectively. This continues to drive up costs. Don't worry though because in FOUR years you will have single payer universal government run crummy healthcare like the world does.

  • @CommonSenseJoe - so when insurance companies deny coverage, drop people that get sick, stop paying for treatment, raise premiums to outrageous rates, and on top of that make record profits, they are not to blame??? Where do you get your information, FOX? Have you ever tried to get coverage or have you ever lost coverage, then tried to get insurance again? Insurance companies are notorious for singling out people and dropping them, I personally know this.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS First off, I am not saying that some abuses have not happened at the hands of insurance companies. Such abuses have happened at the hands of the federal government as well. Second, I have purchased my own health insurance now for nearly 3 decades. There is nothing you can tell me about preexisting condition or increasing rates. Third, I am sick of this record profits cramp. The average profit in health insurance is 4%. How about about record deficits!.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS

Yes I agree. Insurance companies are not here to help you. I needed major reconstructive surgery on my left leg, and they tried saying it was not medically necessary even though my leg was split right open.

  • Hey yo,,

Ize gots your Helf Caya ::

    rite heeyaa,,,,rite heeyaaa

  • yo, redistribute ...."this"..

  • Doesn't really matter now if this health care bill passes or not. The US Federal Government is el broko. No money to pay for anything. We are now bankrupt. Does anyone here have and idea what bankruptcy means for the US Government? It means it can't pay its' bills. No money for health care, no money for the bureaucracy, no money for schools, no money for military. No money. Nada. No money for social security. No money for anything. Thanks a lot liberals. We are sunk.

  • First of all fucking retard, you can thank your boy GW Chimp for starting 2 wars THEN cutting taxes on the wealthiest Americans WITH a pending recession - combined with bankers who brought down Wall Street.

IN FACT, it is VERY likely that all of those things combined created the mess we're now in, giving Obama no other choice but to spend money to keep a real disaster from occuring -

and YOU want to blame liberals?

  • It isn't just me. There are many people who understand what has happened. The liberal spending policies that began in 2006 have finally accumulated and will now be the downfall of the US. The new higher taxes on people with no money is a joke. Not a great fan of Bush's spending either. Combined with liberal policies and spending, Bush is partially responsible for the bankruptcy as well.

  • Keynesian economics states that you need to deficit spend when the economy is doing poorly to get the economy moving again, and when it does THEN raise taxes to bring down the deficit. And when times REMAIN good you tax the people to build a surplus and pay for necessary government spending.

We had an asshole for a president who decided to start wars and throw them on the credit card because he wanted to give his buddies tax breaks.

  • So between wars that haven't been paid for, the entire world economic system on the brink of collapse because of crooks on Wall Street and a VERY deep recession, the government was forced to spend MORE money to keep things from really going down the shitter.

You can thank George Bush for starting this fire - that's just a fact.

  • I don't think it matters anymore.I think it is too late to save our economy. Look at the fear right now if they allow extended unemployment to lapse. Anarchy and crime on the streets will be unimaginable. You did leave out what led up to the criminal bahavior of wall street. Two big things. One under Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, and the other under Bill Clinton.

  • Carter had NOTHING to do with it, and Bill Clinton signed the GOP deregulation into law (repeal of the Glass-Steagall act which resulted in the banks and financial institutions merging, and corrupting). You think what Bill did was a liberal blunder? Liberal spending pulled us out of the great depression, but now you'd want to see slash and burn politics? That will assure you your anarchy and crime on the streets!

  • The CRA was signed by Carter. It was his program to help out the poor people. You didn't know that?

Clinton didn't veto the Glass-Steagal bill did he?

FDR did not spend us out of the depression. That is a fairytale. WWII pulled us out of the depression.

Watch when the welfare program called extended unemployment benefits is discontinued. For anarchy. Obonehead wants to extend it until the end of the year, $100 billion more. I wonder why?

  • The CRA didn't lead to wall street criminal behavior, but repeal of Glass-Steagal ultimately did. No, Clinton SIGNED the GOP bill, and it should be noted he was a centrist, not a liberal. You wonder why we need extended unemployment? Haven't you taken a look around you? Sounds like you are heartless! You seriously need to take a look at the massive wealth transfer that has taken place in this country since the Reagan revolution. That and all the greed, job loss, what do YOU suggest?

  • Repeal of Glass0Steagal PLUS CRA bad paper led the banks to the package scheme to get rid of the bad paper. Government forced the bad paper on the lending istitutiions. Look at CRA today. It still has influence on lending practices. That doesn't excuse the banks much, but at least it helps to understand what caused this housing bubble, who was the instigator. I blame government interference.

  • How did CRA cause bad paper? And how do you blame government interference for the housing bubble?

  • CRA forced the lending institutions, through coercion and threats of expensive audits to loan money to people for housing that had no money, no job, and no rational reason to be able to borrow money for a home. This was government mandated corruption to ostensibly benefit the downtrodden.

  • Where do you get your facts? The government NEVER forced or mandated loans for housing to people with no money or jobs! What is your source for this? And it was lack of audits (or regulation, if you will) that resulted in banks misguided foray into the sub-prime mortgage business. Our government didn't sanction this (although deregulation did).

  • Obonehead spent 4 times the money Bush did. It took Bush 8 years to get us into debt. It took 1 year for Obama to outdo him by a factor of 4. Obama has done more damage to our economy in just one year than Bush and Osama did over the preceding 8 years.

  • Again, where do you get this data? Do you even understand the reasons of the current fiscal year and projected future deficits? Do you actually fault Obama policies for this? What is it you believe Obama did to cause this? Not sure if you are aware of this, but we were already considerably in debt the year Bush entered office, and the debt increased considerably each and every year. I don't think you know what you're talking about when you claim Obama has done damage.

  • Ultimately, this was the GOP plan, wasn't it? Bankrupt the country through unpaid wars, tax cuts to the wealthy, so their could be no money for social programs. Break our government so you could make the argument that we can't trust our government? Mission accomplished, right? Obama is doing all he can to restore faith in our government, but he may be unable to do it. You may not want to point blame, but most of it lies with George W. Bush and company!

  • I don't know any GOP plan. I am not a republican. Haven't been since Goldwater. It never occurred to me that there was a plan to bankrupt the country until Obonehead took office. Social programs have bankrupted the country. Not the wars. Wars are profit making enterprises for the most part. Social welfare is the culprit here.

  • You are deluded if you believe it is Obama's plan to bankrupt the country. You don't seem to understand that most the projected deficits right now were set by Bush policies, not Obama. Wars were money makers in the past, but should this be America's legacy now? We are falling behind in everything else! We wouldn't need welfare if we had good education and jobs. What precisely do you think is the solution to this country's ills now? If you aren't GOP, then what are you?

  • I am somewhere on the cusp of centrist/conservative/libertarian. Registered independent the last 45 years.

There is no solution. 90% of the world's people are unnecessary. 10% of the people can produce 100% of the needs, goods and services, of all the people. I don't have the solutions, but I know socialism is not the answer.

  • If you believe there is no solution, then explain how you also know socialism is not the answer. What is your reasoning? What do you propose to do for/to the 90% of Americans that might have trouble being productive if only 10% are producing? If you don't have answers, then why be involved in the political process at all?

  • Batman

I was a trained killer. My job was to kill communists during the Korean War. We have been killing communists since about 1946. We still kill communists. Join the communist effort at your own peril.

  • So you equate socialism with communism, and feel all communists should be killed? I wasn't advocating pure socialism, communism, but it seems by claiming no solution here, you may be conceding that capitalism has failed. You never answered the question WHY socialism would not be the answer, if you firmly believe there is no solution under capitalism. Are you simply a fatalist? Hitler was a killer, and fascist, and so I hope that is not what you have become. Kill off everyone?

  • So something tells me at your age, you must be getting government run health care! Are you being the worst kind of hypocrite?

  • You seem to have no short term memory. Stroke?

I am a Korean War Veteran . I am enrolled at the local VA hospital for medical care. It sucks. I stay away as much as I can and will only go for absolutely necessary tests/procedures. So far, at my age, I haven't needed hardly anything. Blessed with good health.

  • No, I just didn't see you posting anything critical of your own health care previously, and now I know you think VA medical sucks as well. So then who do you believe has the best health care system in the world, since apparently it isn't the USA? Or are you going to tell me that by being blessed, you only believe in faith healing through prayer?

  • You killed communists?

    You're a trained killer?

You,ve been brainwashed - fed too much kool-aid and asked for seconds and thirds.

  • We have many trained killers who have killed communists roaming the streets of America.

Otherwise known as Veterans. There are many from the Korean War and from the Vietnam War still kicking. You act amazed. You are not American?

  • @TAMARLANE shut the hell up

  • @TheChynalynn

YOU shut the fuck up, you fucked up fucking fuck.

  • A failed circumstance. Because you just can't ask a man like Barrasso to feel what it's like to be someone else. He can't do it. If you put him on a $40,000 salary for a year, then he might come back with a new experience. That would be interesting.

  • True story: The GOP could give a shit about anyone other than themselves.

  • If that exchange was akin to Barrassco going up for a lay up playing basketball, what we would have witnessed was Obama slapping the senator's shit into the forth row. Like many Republicans who are completely detached from what average Americans faces,Barrassco was left slack-jawed.

The detached GOP party of "No" really has no solution(s) to really curb or control health care costs. They really are throwing a 10' lifeline to Americans 80' away. They'll do for Healthcare what they did for the debt.

  • No moron, lawyers are NOT the only people who think tort reform would not make a difference in the overall costs of health care - do some research - and not a Hot Air, Red State or Fox News.

You're a moron if you think you should not have the right to sue if a doctor fucks up bad.

  • My infrequent vists to Utube news always remind me just how idiotic the average American is. Things sure went downhill after the American Revolution.

  • Conservatives are done. The average American is not buying the shit their selling, teaching creationism in schools, anti gay and lesbian stance, anti abortion stance, tax cuts for the rich, anti regulation. America is changing and the only people who have an issue with this are conservatives who want America to be what it was a 100 years ago.

  • What Obonehead is saying is that health care is an entitlement. If those making 40K$/annum get sick, he wants those making more to pay for the 40K guys health care. This, of course, disincentifies the 40K guy. Why try to make more? To pay my own way? Not. I will just let someone else pay my way.

The only problem is, there aren't enough people making more that 40K to be able to pay for mr. 40K. What money is left in the country now, will simply leave the country. It has already begun.

  • You're absolutely right!

And while we're at it, I don't want to pay for not police force for the poor either! I earn more, I'm worth more, I should be protected more! I want police insurance! And fire fighter insurance. Fuck these deadbeats who mooch off the firedepartment, who is funded by us! I want the fire department to be privatized, and I want to get better coverage that I can pay for personally.

  • Yeah scumbag shithead, because people like you are OK with 1% of the country hoarding 50% of the wealth.

It's the working class people's fault? GO FUCKING DIE.

  • Do you really hear what the GOP is saying what health care is? They just like saying that we have the greatest health care in the world. What they don't tell you is that you have to be a Saudi Arabian shiek paying the Mayo Clinic millions of dollars in cash to get it! The GOP is telling you that our health care SYSTEM is whatever the insurance companies want it to be...less coverage for higher premiums. Doesn't matter how much you make...soon you won't be getting very good coverage either!

  • Barrasso has major backing from Insurance companies. He makes 170k a year. He is obviously oblivious to what the average american earns, These Republicans are just a bunch of fat cats. Barrasso is talking nonsense just so he can get more Insurance company money for his next campaign. shame on him!

  • your absolutely right, we should be looking to the poverty stricken democrats for guidance. Grow up.

  • Classic demonstration of high level education, mr. "I-know-it-all".

"You are" contracts to "You're" not "your", that means "It belongs to you"

Before writing comments, learn to spell.

And think that English isn't even my native language (That's Italian)... :-)

  • fucking ridiculous if you can't afford healthcare go to college to get a better job or move to canada

  • I'm guessing you didn't hear the news that premiums are going up by like 40% for a lot of people in California while these same companies that are pushing these increases have made record profits (in the billions) last year.

But go ahead, keep bending over and let them stick it to you even harder.

  • The premiums are going up because COSTS are going up. What is a record profit in the health insurance industry? Why don't Democrats start their own health insurance company and show us all how to do it?

  • No, costs are not going up that fast.

What you've regurgitated is straight from the insurer's mouth.

Now, if a bank robber were to tell you "I'm just making sure the safe is in proper order." would you believe him?

Medical costs have NOT risen by 40%, or else every hospital would shut down. Seriously.

  • They will rise that fast especially with the government cutting reimbursements to providers by another 21%. If you don't like their rates, the people can always find a new insurance company to work with.

  • CommonSenseJoe has ABSOLUTELY NO common sense - these health insurance companies are ALL about the same price for similar plans - where are the American people going to get it again?

  • Really? So what happens when the remaining health insurance companies premiums are about the same price as the one you are trying to replace?

  • Just to inform... a family of three has to pay $1690 per month to get decent coverage, in California.

That's 20.280$ per year, you know?

  • Health insurance is becoming more and more unaffordable for more and more businesses everyday you FUCKING PINHEAD. SOON it's not going to matter how good of a job you have unless you are in the top 50% - so what about the remaining 50%?

  • The insurance costs more because the cost of healthcare is going up. We need to lower the cost of care, not attack the insurance companies.

  • It's a combination - but health insurance companies are like ultra-greedy unnecessary middlemen who should have never been in the equation to begin with.

  • Then I suggest you NOT buy their product.

  • I don't buy their product - I fortunately get my employer to provide it for me - but if we don't fix it soon this will affect me as well.

  • Barrasso makes ~ $170K/yr. and figures most make close to that. Reminds me of Charlie Gibson.

  • I don't know why people hate Obama, he's only trying to clean up the mess George Bush and Alan Greenspan made for us. People voted for him because they got tired of "With us or against us" politics and the deregulation of the "Maestro."

  • I thought he would be good for the US, but I fear that all he's doing is lip service. he hasn't done anything, really. also he's been paid by pharma and insurance companies just like the republicans. he had the votes to pass the health care reform bill at the beginning and didn't...now they've completely gotten rid of the public option. if he actually wanted to make change he would pass it by reconciliation, name names, bipartisanship by force- "with us or against us" isn't such a bad idea.

  • What mess, do people keep referring to? Was this before or after the Dem's controled Congress?

  • before

  • What planet are you on? Surely not Earth.

  • Because he is using a socialist mop. He said so himself. He lies.

  • NO and neither would my car be the same, SO WHAT? That's what life is! We aren't 6 years old whineing to Mom about being even Steven! You want better health care? Work harder! Cheeze these sliver spoon libs piss me off.

  • I say let them pass it. If it sucks then let the next administration change it. If it's great, then obama was right.

  • Many, Many people are going to die because of this fu-- up health care plan. The rich people wouldn't spend a penny a month out of their check to say lives. I hate rich people. I help people and I am no where near rich!!!

  • Many more are already dying without it!

  • The mortality rate for people without health care insurance is the same as it is for people who have health care insurance. No extra deaths.

  • Really? So having health care and getting something checked early might not find a problem before it get's to the point it will kill you?

    HeisenbergSleptHere, YOU ARE A MORON.

  • You are leaving out all the deaths caused by prescription drugs, like thalidymide. (sp) You aren't considering all the staph and strep infections , the MRSAs the mis-diagnosis, the irresponsible errors that result in death, or worse, at the hands of the medical profession.

  • @TrentHuggins

    Move to Canada

  • I always make time out of my day to laugh at the stupidity of party politics. Both sides are ridiculous towards each other and refuse to work together to get anything done. Why can't people see that the current political structure isn't effective, and only succeeds in dividing the people even more?

  • You will always have a group of people who has completely opposite views. It's also great to listen to two different sides because it brings up important questions that no one will dare ask if everyone agrees.

  • Wow, where's the rest of this video? the house got slaughtered at this meeting. It's typical that the dumbicrats would post this but the fact is that no matter what analogy obama tried to come up with, they all failed. Oh and btw! Watch the hole video guys...the president gets real pissed and it came out as a win to the (R).

  • The hole video? The one about the hole we are in and will never come out of , the hole that obonehead has dug for all of America. Get out if you can, while you can. Don't go to Canada they have a terrible health care system there. Go to Costa Rica, or go to New Zealand, or just buy a nice big sailboat if you can and go sailing, blue water, to the South Pacific.

The main thing is to get out of Dodge City . The bullets are going to start flying. Property will be stolen. Lives will end.

  • Yeah you're a waste of oxygen and space - kill yourself.

  • You have really hurt my feelings now. You big meanie.I mean you big ignorant dumb motherfucking asshole of a cocksucking meanie.

  • Yeah, came out as win for Republicans. Watch your back asshole - it looks like the retarded teabaggers are getting ready to take over the Republican party - which will be great because that will splinter the vote and hand elections to Democrats - Americans will REJECT the teabagger-controlled Republican party.

  • Would you feel if is condescending elitist class warfare.

  • Social Security is a fraudulent pyramid scheme that is running out of money. It requires millions of new payers every year to keep it afloat. Should the USA stop growing, then the pyramid scheme would crash. And with the Baby Boomers it may crash anyways. If anyone but the Government devised this, they would go to jail.

  • Oh fucking well - remove the FICA tax cap on the wealthiest Americans and there would be no Social Security crisis.

  • You're absolutely right. Plus with the market the way it's been I wouldn't trust that my money would be safe and that's if I had any money to save.

  • Mandating insurance is ridiculous until hospital costs are driven down to a reasonable level. That can only occur if litigation and high insurance costs for hospitals are driven out of the picture. Politicians will never go this route because many of them are lawyers...and they're obviously totally out of touch with the financial reality most people face. Vote them all out next term.

  • Really!!!!!You've been paying Social Security in your paychecks you entire working like and the prgram works perfectly

  • Extreme719ballin, I agree that both sides have politicized this issue. but lets be honest, no form of health care will be FREE, and taxes will be raised to pay for it. It's just how it will be. Yes FOX is biased but so is CNN and MSNBC. Republicans are only making the same argument that Democrats were making 3 years ago...The president isn't listening to me. And just so it's clear, I completely disagree with far right and left wingers. Just trying to make it fair

  • @grumpypuncher President Obama nor any Democrat proposed "free" healthcare, just options to purchase healthcare from the government at much more affordable prices than from private insurers. As for taxes, like I said, other countries pay more in taxes than we do for healthcare, and they don't bitch and complain, SUCK IT UP!

  • Really!!!!!You've been paying Social Security in your paychecks you entire working like and the program works perfectly

  • @Legitwarezdotcom take ur spam elsewhere!

  • they really should make 40m ppl have the health care

  • @danelovell Who said you would be forced into Obama's plan? Quit listening to Rush Limbaugh and FoxSnooze, and as far as taxes, other countries pay much more than we do in taxes in order to fund their universal healthcare programs and I don't hear them bitching, SUCK IT UP! It's sort of like being forced to take medicine you don't like as a kid, it's nasty as shit, but it will end up befitting you in the long run.

  • I dont listen to Rush, I think hes a little too much. If you havent heard other people bitching, you are not listing. I know many that have come to this country and bitch about how their health care plan sucked. They dont want Obamas plan either.

  • THIS plan is far from perfect but it's better than nothing and it can be fixed over time.

And God knows the Republicans don't have solutions - nor do they really give a shit about you or anyone else that isn't a major player in this country.

  • Not true, but don't let the truth get in the way.

  • Which isn't true asshole? That the bill isn't perfect? (it isn't) That it can be fixed or amended in the future? (it can) That the Republicans don't have solutions? (the Republicans have NO suggestions that would WORK) That they don't give a shit about the common man? (they DON'T)

  • They care far more than President Obama. He is lying his way into socialized medicine. The only way to fix this is too low the cost of healthcare by creating competition for providers.

  • @CommonSenseJoe President Obama is not a liar, he cares for the average american. He has accomplished more than half of what he said he would do. Its these jackass republicans like mcain and his backward ass state of arizona who make it difficult for the president to get things done the right way with out all the extras in these bills. Obama is one man who needs the senate to cooperate with him. No one is saying how jackass bush devastated the country for is own gain and crawled back to texas.

  • @TheChynalynn What has he accomplished? Gitmo - Still Open! Iraq still there. Unemployment up! Foreclosures up! Healthcare costs up! Unissued up! Beside taking over Chrysler and GM, and paying off his union buddies with a stake in the companies they bankrupted, he has done nothing for average American. He did not even put in a public option in the healthcare bill.

  • @danelovell the only people I hear bitching about the Obama plan are right wing cons like yourself who actually don't know squat about the plan other than what Emperor Limbaugh and FoxSnooze tell you guys to parrot. I know plenty of people who would love to have affordable health insurance from the government as opposed to the high premiums they have to pay now from private insurers. It's a shame when even an issue like healthcare is politicized to no end!

  • @Extreme719Ballin

    STANDING OVATION!!!

  • It sickens me to no end that even a simple issue such as healthcare has to be politicized by both sides, but more specifically the Republican Party... Obamacare, are you FUCKING KIDDING ME?! That's elementary school bullshit right there, but of course no one told us the Republicans acted like mature adults... seems to me the only adult in the room is Obama because he hasn't responded with such diatribe towards Republicans and continues to be humble.

  • Political talk makes me sick.

  • Worse when political talk is about the HEALTH of the people.

  • So who's paying for your health care insurance? How much are you paying?

Fact is the insurance company rations care much more than the government will, ask me how I know, go ahead.

  • Insurance companies DO NOT and NEVER have rationed care. They only decided what care is covered under your insurance plan. There is no law that says you cannot pay for your own healthcare.

  • The main thread asserts that a Government Run Health Care System will ration care more. Your point is correct, people can pay for anything they choose if they are denied. I agree. Anyone that thinks otherwise has never filed a major insurance claim.

  • Pay for your own health care? Yeah because MOST people have that kind of disposable income - you fucking RETARD.

  • So many "FACTS" and so little evidence.

  • Eight unsupported assertions and opinions being called "facts." That must be a record.

  • Is unregulated for profit health care going to raise your premiums, and keep lowering your coverage? FACT: YES. And then ask the rest of these questions substituting grhc with unregulated for profit health care. No more jobs this way, not any healthier, they already ration the care, but you are WAY OFF on the last 3 questions. Not sure where you get your facts. They will get the same options as congress, it will save lives, and premiums only go slightly higher for MUCH better coverage!

  • "Is grhc going to create doctor and nurse shortages? FACT:Yes"

So let's produce less food in this country so there isn't enough food for "demon-RETARD-preyer to eat.

  • why isn't obama talking about the average government employee making 70k not the greedy private sector making 40k?

  • He DID mention that Republican senator Barrasso, DR. Barrasso was making 176,000 dollars. Isn't it enough that Obama was talking about helping the non-government people making 40k (or less) who can't afford those health savings accounts, and need quality health care? So who is the elitist here, the President talking about people making 40k, or Dr. Barrasso who thinks most people shouldn't have comprehensive medical care, and instead should save pre-tax dollars (which they don't have) for care?

  • Why do you think Obonehed picked 40K $

  • @Tamarlane

See you're a twit just like I suspected you might be. Obonehed(sp head), nice one! You're really really really really smart, and that's how come you can come up with such insightful hilarious names for our president! wow. I am so impressed with you as a person. Good for you. How about some substance, or is that too much for your pea-brain?

  • It probably won't help to educate you, but I'll try anyway. He probably picked 40k, because it is a fairly middle class income amount where a large segment of working people (and their families) are UNDERINSURED, and if you go to a very low income rate, instead, people are typically fully covered by medicare or medicaid (which is government run, and certainly preceded Obama, so don't blame him for that government health care!).

  • He picked $40K because you're an asshole.

  • I have no health insurance. There were times during my life when I did have it, and used it albeit rarely. Usually when someone was injured. One of the kids. Now I am older and expecting my body to begin rejecting me any old day. You get what?, 8 cell divisions and then you die. Eat right, keep fit, and die anyway.

I don't like/trust most doctors. I stay away from them and clinics and hospitals unless I am seriously ill. In other words rarely. Did you know the mortality rate is about the same

whether you have health insurance or not? You probably didn't know that.

About doctors. Most of their care decisions are based on things that are not "you". They order tests to protect themselves from lawsuits just in case you have some rare disease. They will give you some kind of a pill , antibiotic, if you tell them you are ill even if you are not.

Many of the prescribed drugs. .like those for depression are deadly when taken by certain people. Like Paxil for example. It is all BS.

  • I live in California. My healthcare bill went up from 700 per month for my family to 1200 per month in one year ! Those who state there is nothing wrong with the current healthcare system are naive.

  • Not naive. Just conditioned by the media.

  • I make around 40K a year and I DO NOT want Obama's plan. This stuff isn't free, you will see taxes go through the roof to pay for it.

  • Jeez... you're as smart as a brick.

Taxes MAY go up, but insurance cost will go down for EVERYBODY (with a raise in paycheck, probably)

Stop listening to ONE voice only and try to understand what the President is talking about.

  • i pray for your sake that was sarcasm!!!

  • If Im a brick, youre a dung hut at best. Take a look a Canada and some other Countries that have similar Socialist ideals within their Government. Google their taxes and see what they pay. Do this before responding. Talk to some Canadian Americans and ask them how the program was. Everyone I have spoken with seems to have the same shitty answer, Worse than here.

  • Some wait months not weeks to get care, much lower standards of care, and get this NOT FREE. The Government is the worst spender on the planet. The only people Obamas plan will truly benefit will be the state funded citizens and/or the homeless and unemployed. The working class will pay heavily for this. The only thing you see is that you may get on this plan for free; you cant possibly see the big picture.

  • You see, being an American, you lived in the USA your whole life. You CAN'T see the big picture, simply because you have been taught that way.

try to discover how healthcare works in Italy, Germany, France and other civilized places, where you are NEVER left without care just because you credit card ran dry. THEN come back and argue against healthcare.

  • thegiops, you're EXACTLY right in your thinking.

  • So let's do nothing, right asshole? Or let's do the Republicans plans that WON'T work, right asshole? You're so fucking worried about taxes - go look up what taxes on the wealthiest Americans were under Roosevelt and Kennedy - then go see what Reagan and Bush did. If wealthy people paid their fair share of taxes, we didn't have 2 ridiculous wars, and we didn't have an OUTRAGEOUSLY bloated military budget, WE WOULDN'T BE HAVING THESE CONCERNS.

  • Maybe Im an asshole, but you are definitely a dumbass. If you are so disgruntled about how this country operates now, leave. Im not worried about higher taxes, its having to pay them because of weak ass people like yourself that always has their hand out while not getting it done yourself. Look at what Obama has done, Im not defending Bush but Obama isnt doing much better.

  • i VERY LIKELY earn more money than you AND I get VERY GOOD health care through my employer - FOR NOW.

UNLIKE YOU I am concerned about the overall system and the tens of millions of people who fall through the cracks.

    Go fuck your retarded self.

  • Oh, and asshole (danelovell) I'm pretty sure you don't earn enough money to worry about you paying for any lazy person's health insurance - if you didn't notice, in this video Obama made it QUITE CLEAR (if you are intelligent, which apparently you're not) that HE IS concerned about people making only $40,000 a year - odds are REALLY FUCKING GOOD that you fall in that category - you probably make even less.

So quit woorying yourself over dumb shit that Faux and Rush have you worrying about.

  • I actuality state how much I make in a previous comment. How much do you make? You seem to be a typical advocate for this plan. Uneducated, unwilling to do any research, and blinded by anything with the illusion of free. I dont listen to Faux or Rush, their views are a little too extreme for me, but they might be able to help you see a little better.

  • I make $60K a year and get excellent health care through my employer - so obviously I don't base my opinion on what is in it for me - except for when it get's so expensive that my employer says I can't have it any more, or I can't get a cost of living adjustment raise EVER because they have to give it to health insurance companies if I want to have health insurance - NO MORON, I am primarily concerned with a BROKEN SYSTEM that IS OR WILL affect EVERYONE eventually.

    INCLUDING you DIPSHIT.

  • The key to solving any problem is to properly define the problem. Blaming the insurance companies for the high cost of healthcare is simply not being intellectually honest. Yes, they make a profit off selling you insurance. On average, that is about 4%. However the cost of insurance is NOT the problem. It is the spiraling cost of Healthcare itself. In news last night, a baby who has already cost $600,000 dollars is going to cost over a million. There is your problem. The COST of CARE.

  • FINE DICKHEAD - take away the CEO's $750 Million salary and it's a start.

  • Look moron, health INSURANCE CEO's make hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Health INSURANCE companies drop coverage on patients who will eat into their profit if they can get away with it. Health INSURANCE should NOT be for profit.

YES, health CARE is too expensive but you're either an ignorant fool or a disingenuous lying asshole to tell people health INSURANCE companies are not a LARGE part of the problem.

  • What does the amount the healthcare CEO's make have to do with it? We pay 15 million dollars to quarterback PER YEAR who employs no one and creates no jobs. Maybe we should go after them for the money. No one is forced to buy insurance. If you don't want it, don't buy it.

They are NOT the problem. Even if you eliminated ALL insurance companies from the equation, the problem is STILL the COST.

  • @CommonSenseJoe Smart on that note

  • @TheChynalynn What are you talking about? You have no idea do you!

  • @twochordcool You are uninformed. All the annual profits from all the insurance companies in the US combined, equals 2 days worth of expenditures for health care in the US.

  • @twochordcool

Health insuirance companies are a big part of the problem. Totally Agreed. They need to be stopped.

  • Tell me, how does THIS plan address the issue of healthcare COSTS? Not the cost of insurance, but the actual charges from providers to patients!

  • Hey asshole - you do realize if you could get a pair of Nikes or a North Face jacket DIRECTLY from wherever it's made at the cost the middleman (the people who sell it to you) paid for it, you'd pay like 75% less for it - the numbers might not be the same but that's EXACTLY what health insurance companies do to consumers. IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN A FOR PROFIT SYSTEM AND NOW IT IS COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL.

  • Actually, the insurance companies save their consumers money because they can negotiate lower prices from the providers. The insurance companies charge for the RISK they carry.

  • Are you a clothing salesman or a shoe salesman?

  • I heard the other day on the radio about how the Democrats are not going to consider him for the primaries next election. And as far as the military goes, without, you couldnt rant like an uneducated fool you are on the internet. You are the kind of person I would like see dropped off in a place like Iran or Afghan and see how long you last as an American without our military.

  • I spent 12 years in the US Navy - how long did you dickhead?

Go eat shit you braindead retard.

  • Dude, I'm from Italy.

We have socialized free healthcare, and if there is ONE thing that works in Italy, that's the one.

  • yes but you can't sue doctors so it keeps the costs down - in the US lawyers trying to make a buck on professional mistakes drive up the cost of all aspects of the healthcare arena.

Plus your doctors send patients to Germany or the US for a lot of stuff they are not as good at-sorry.

  • Do the proper research - tort reform would make VERY little difference - and would you REALLY want to take away Americans ability to sue a doctor who TOTALLY fucked up?

  • lawyers are the only ones who think it would make no difference. Hey do you want to be able to sue the doctors or do you want affordable FREE health insurance? Mi guess is you won't get either one.

  • Frivolous lawsuits should be punished by the law. If a lawyer brings a bogus lawsuit he should be responsible for court costs, opposing attorneys fees, and for punitive damages. This would stop the lawsuits and reduce the defensive medicine costs dramatically.

  • Yeah, great, show me documented examples of "frivolous" lawsuits - the fact is that is RARE and doesn't make a grain of difference in the costs of health care.

And if a doctor suspected X, Y or Z for what ails you, you wouldn't want tests done to rule them out?

  • Show me? Look for yourself at the number of lawsuits enjoined as a "grab at the brass ring" and thrown out of court. It is a high percentage of the cases brought. There are statistics available from a couple of states regarding the resulting reduction in malpractice insurance and the resulting reduction in costs of services from physicians.

Of course if you suspect X < Y or Z you should check it out. It doesn't cost that much , out of pocket, for most X Y or Z tests.
