  • lucaudinese argento wagac 2011 per italia. hand

  • How high where you?

  • @born4driving When exactly do you mean? I release the tow cable at around 1250-1300m agl

  • dear santa..

  • Amazing! I have really enjoyed this video!

  • @parnican Thanks for your comment, nice to hear that you like it.

  • i was waiting for the landing....where is the landing?

  • @rafanhoo somehow the recording got corrupted right before the landing and I had to end the clip before the wheel was on the ground again. ;-) Look at my other clips, those show the landing.

  • Gods, I miss gliding. Most fun you can have sitting down.

  • @FredPilcher Right, gliding and especially aerobatics is A LOT of fun :-)

  • Wundershön, gratuliere! ;-)

  • gezus! that looks so fun!!!!!!!!!

  • @Cathaydude It really is! :-)

  • Watching the flex of the wing is fascinating!

  • Check out...madhatter42o ( its an o..not a zero) thats my other profile. Erase this post. I fly hanggliders and paragliders. ( erase this post.)

  • No...i didnt mean it that way. I said it out of pure excitement and amazement. I was blown away watching that. No joke..the video is sick!..i mean badass!

  • @ExtremeBrushClearing ok, got it :-) Happy to hear you like it!

  • Love it!.....remember Folks...."safety third"

  • @ExtremeBrushClearing Do you think that safety is compromised anywhere in this clip? I´d be interested to know where and why.

  • Video is great music sucks

  • If you want to see 10 G's then fly a glider.

  • Sailplanes are so graceful :-). I love skydiving, & spend all my free money on that. I want to try this @some point, too. It's very beautiful. I also appreciate the skill it takes to do it well.

  • @neomuttley thanks for your comment, appreciate it :-)

  • would have been nice to have heard the changes in wind speed rather than somone screaming over drums and a guitar

  • @ash104 look at my other clips, there´s one with the original sound from the cockpit

  • wow yea ive only experinced very few im in civil air patrol im 14 years old and if flown gliders before but im not alloud to do that but when i do get my lincence i will do that for shure

  • shit those must be insane g's when u pull up after recovering from the loopty loop

  • @harold505 We regularly pull up to 8.5g and push -5.5g. Positive g´s are more "comfortable" to handle then negative g´s though ;-)

  • @Swiftmaxu That is unfair in the raf we are restricted to 3g :'(

  • @h07swilkinson96 you can´t do proper aerobatics with a max of 3g ;-)

  • @Swiftmaxu I know the best we can do is a stall simulation :(

  • @h07swilkinson96 you recover as soon as you recognize the first signals of a stall? what aircraft?

  • @Swiftmaxu Grob vigilant.

  • @h07swilkinson96 you shouldn´t do aerobatics with them anyway! ;-)

  • @Swiftmaxu No it is fun

  • @Swiftmaxu you should! I'd love to experience this but I know I wouldn't be dare do it.

i've got a great little clip of a cool glider doing some ace moves :0)

  • Nice flying!

  • @thesecretgames right, it really is a lot of fun! That´s why we do it! :-)

  • Comment removed

  • sooo things we've learned...

your taste in hobbies (gliders) totally rocks!! (thanks for posting)

and your taste in music totally sucks (awful!!!!)

    :-)

  • @MagicTimeVideos thanks for your comment! :-) Thank god tastes differ, or everybody would love to listen "folk-music" ;-)

  • @Swiftmaxu

and you take the record for the fastest response ever. totally redeemed yourself!!!

  • @swiftmaxu Have you also tried powered aircraft aerobatics? Pitts S2b rock!!!!

  • @Toonces1970 I have :-) S2A and recently started to get checked out in an Extra 300. Totally different world... ;-)

  • I love the music!!!! Awesome to practice manuvers too!!!!Hope you found a good unlimited program....

  • @Toonces1970 Thanks for your comment! I found a nice free program, however not the one which is shown in the clip :-)

  • Why is it that aviation video music always sucks?

  • @nagrom355 you can always switch off the speakers or play your own music ;-)

  • @Swiftmaxu exactly were do you go to fly these

  • @mrTreekiller666 what exactly do you mean? I´m flying in southern Germany, south of Munich.

  • @Swiftmaxu oh so u fly it in germany i thought it was some were in america never mind

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing, gave me a sense of what its like! I would do a little better music though.

  • @DukeNukem65 Thanks for your comment, happpy you like it. My next videos will be without music.

  • Also, ich hab jetzt schon einige Segelkunstflu Videos hier angeschaut.

  • damn i was waiting for the landing and it just faded out check out my channel for some awsome flights but a lil different but same thing just no g's

  • @rockyFLYR There are other clips which also include the landing :-)

  • @Swiftmaxu cool

  • Much better when I put my own music to it ;)

  • @Zezkus one way of dealing with it when you don´t like the music ;-)

  • I don't know much about gliding, but this is impressive.

  • @RysioACF Next world championships in glider aerobatics are held in Torun/Poland from 26.7. until 7.8., maybe you can visit and watch it life! ;-)

  • @Swiftmaxu Thanks for info! This is something I will surely consider. Working in a place right next to an airport has really sparked my interest in aviation.

  • whoa!!! Fantastic! Did the odd loop or wingover in my gliding days back in the late 80's (Ka-8, DG-500) bu this is off another planet!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience (without the discomfort of the g-forces) :-)

  • @fgroen1225 Thanks for the comment and happy you like it! :-) g-forces aren´t uncomfortable as such, it depends how many g´s you pull (or push) and for how long. Most of the time I even enjoy them ;-)

  • Absolutety hate the 'sound track! Brilliant without the audio crappett!

  • @doffincodger Tastes differ, but I promise my next clips will be without music! Thanks for your comment!

  • @doffincodger Tastes differ! :)

  • how many g's you hit? :)

  • @technochook I don´t recall that particular flight, but we usually pull up to +8g and push around -5g during an aerobatic sequence

  • @Swiftmaxu whoa :) do you cope with it well or is it hard sometimes?

  • @technochook positive g´s are mostly not an issue, but negative g´s are uncomfortable, especially when there a several figures or longer parts of the sequence with high negative g load.

  • @Swiftmaxu haha oh ok :) looks extremely fun

  • do a barrel roll!

  • nice your not scared to destroye your plane

  • @JimmyTheKiller69 don´t worry, the Swift can take a lot more then I did in this clip! :-)

  • shit that thing can snap roll

  • @nickoswoos It can do a lot of things quite nicely! :-)

  • So I guess the 1,500 foot rule doesn't apply to you...

  • @tirpae right, we´ve got a waiver down to 300ft agl

  • moje marzenie

  • @qwatro78 W Polska jest wielu dobrych pilotów akrobacyjnych

  • i would probably fly the wings off of one

  • @snowboardingbum thank god that is no so easy, the Swift is very strong and can take a lot of g´s

  • I love gliding, And Germany!

  • you have some balls man!! would like to get on one of those one day! cheers!!

  • @KingNeto1269 It really doesn´t take balls, a bit of practice and passion will do. Try and take a ride one day, I´m sure you´ll love it!

  • @Swiftmaxu yeah! i'm sure i'd love it too... i'm actually studying to become a commercial pilot right now! but an engine less flight looks very different!! thanks for your excellent video... i'm looking forward to do that when I have the chance! cheers man!!!!

  • @KingNeto1269 glider aerobatics are a completely different thing to normal gliding! ;-) Good luck with your career

  • this was badass. i loved it.

  • Marcus,

wich cam have you used to do this video and how did you attached it to the the wing?

It seens to be a bit ahead of the wing. is it realy? or is just a feeling?

    thanks

  • I don´t know exactly what brand of camera it was, but it is a standard digital handheld videocamera, recording on tape. We have a special camera "arm", which is attached to the wingtip with four proper bolts. The "arm" is made of carbon fiber and provides a small platform to mount cameras etc. which is approx. 75cm forward of the leading edge (you can see it´s shadow at 0:49). Br, Markus

  • Hi, whats is the model of that sailplane? :) I would like to model it and make rc one :)

  • @storeusal It´s a Swift S-1. Made in Poland, but no longer in production.

  • good hammer and good bunt. not very smooth on the transitions betweeen maneuvers which can bleed more energy. I'm sure it looks good from the ground, but the video is a bit jerky. Nice work and nice video

  • @tn66367 Thanks, nice to hear you like it. The hammerhead wasn´t that good as there where a couple of other "issues" in various figures. The flying is "competition-style" and judges like to see when a manouver starts and ends, thats why it my seem a bit jerky

  • Pure freedom...

  • Awesome video!

    What's your longest time aloft?

  • @flyhghgy Hi, my personal longest flight was close to 9 hours, but that was cross country, not aerobatics. For aerobatics the fligthtime is usually around 15 minutes, with most of that in tow.

  • @Swiftmaxu 9 hours is impressive. Did you have a hard time standing after you landed from that flight? My butt goes to sleep after a couple hours of flying which makes landing difficult since my feet are my landing gear.

  • @flyhghgy I don´t remember how I felt after that particular flight, but I was quite "at home" and comfortable in "my" LS-1. But numbness in butt and feet is what I recall as well on longer flights, or when it was really cold.

  • how much does one of these cost and how much does it cost to operate?

  • @JDX45 Hi, currently the cost of a used Swift (no new ones are built anymore) is between 50.000 - 60.000 EURO, depending on condition and equipment. There was one sold recently for over 70k EUR.

Operating cost depends a lot on fixed cost and how much it is used (how many flights per year). Fixed cost may vary between less then 1000 EUR (if you don´t have hull insurance and put aside savings for new paint job, or 500hrs check) to more then 5000 EURO per year + cost per flight (aerotow)

  • Niedługo moja kolej :)

  • @xwidzewx nie ma problemu :-)

  • Hi Swiftmaxu cooles Video.. gefällt mir sehr gut...

  • @Swiftmaxu Sers, saubere Sache Buam, habts sche gmacht!

    LG, Simon

  • @loispolster Servus Simon, merci, freut uns wenns Euch gfällt! :-) Wir sehn uns, evtl. auch erst iam neuen Flugplatz is... Bis dann, Grüsse Maxu

  • Very cool....

  • That’s impressive. It must be scary pulling off nose-up and wing-tip stalls in a glider though. Count me out.

  • Are the gliders qualified for aerobatics? How many load can it withstand? I have seen some gliders braking during a few G's

  • @Trikoupis the Swift S-1 is rated at 10G's!

  • wheres the landing part? did he ever made it to land? X_X

  • @andersonl never mind, I managed to land! ;-)

  • @Swiftmaxu See? He really is a down-to-Earth guy! LOL

    Nice flying btw

  • I went for my 1st flight a week ago, I love gliding already its such an amazing sport! but I have to say, I am in no rush to do this but maybe 1 day! im not even in a rush to solo, but its only my 1st 2 flights and where was lots going on but wow it was amazing,

The best feeling in the world when we released from the tug and it felt like floating, interupted by the sharp turns when we found some lift, You have a great sport! im so glad I am on my way with it myself.

  • Comment removed

  • @loamall Thanks for your comment. Music is Drowning Pool performed by Love & War

  • Awesome!! Incredible!! Fantastic! Excellent video!! Those were amazing aerobatics, many of which I never knew were possible in a glider!! FIVE STARS @X^D

    I really liked the hammerhead @ 2:59

  • @flugverrueckt Sprichst du deutsch? Thanks, happy you like it. With standard Aresti-Aerobatics there is not much difference between gliders and power planes. The hammerhead was not as good as it should be, but still... ;-)

  • @Swiftmaxu Ja!

  • Excellent ! Congrats ! Really nice aerobatics !

What type of camara are you using? How do you mount it ?

    Tks !

  • @martinztti Nice to hear that you like it! :-) I use the HQR-2 camcorder and a bullet camera. Mounting is via a swivel or suction mounts, depending where the camera is used

  • I Miss Flying.

  • Damm ! I Miss Flying.

  • DAMM ! I Miss Flying.............

  • I used to glide also, but never to this standard. Excellent

  • It was damn near perfect, and I loved it!

  • @truthmiracle Thanks for your comment. I´m still trying to get better with every single flight.

  • i wonder wat made the camera do dat at 1:43

  • @mmclaughlin01 apparently it lost focus during the snap/flick roll due to g-forces and/or vibration

  • das auto

  • wow sehr sehr konsequent und geil geflogen grosses lob

  • Ja, dieser verflixte Turn... :-)

  • I love the optical blur during the vertical down snap! Makes me wish I had a Swift in my hangar!

  • Fantastic!

  • gefällt mir gut!

  • That is cool!

  • COOL video!!! Nice flying!!! I'm not a pilot, but I have a friend who used to fly gliders and I'm *SURE* he'll enjoy/appreciate your video.

  • shit hot....top video

  • Wow! Fantastic flying man! You are one shit hot pilot! Love it 5****

  • i know it wasn't perfect

    :D it was wonderful :>

    bin auch pilot

  • @wixxer3000 Dankesehr! ;-)

  • Nice flying, did'nt see any 'Low flying at all!

  • New Zealand is my place.

  • Music doesn't fit

  • That is really epic man,

only 4 minutes of flying time tho :0

    cool stuff

Where are you from (where did you fly) can i do this in new york?

  • @Ifresh21 Hi, I´m glad you like it! I´m from Germany (south of Munich), the only place I know of in the US is in Arizona (search for Estrella gliding) and say "hi" to Jason.

  • @Swiftmaxu Whats your longest flight without aerobatics? I think the record exceeds 24 hours something like 72 in the record books but dont quote me thats from memory.

@Ifresh21 4 minutes because of aerobatics. Thermal riding can last hours.

  • @Ryzler13 Hi, my longest flight was around 9.5 hours, that was some 15 years ago.

  • I`ve flown solo aerobatics in a couple of glider types - this made my sinuses hurt just watching! Oooh that negative G..... rather low finish there sir, report to the CFI at once!

  • @SuperAviatar Thanks for your comment. Don´t worry, we´re waivered fpr aerobatics down to 100m agl and I finished much higher then that!

  • Congratulations ! You are a great pliot ! I like and i love gliders and soaring since i was a child. Succes !

  • awesome video!

i love how you can see the wing actually bend when you pull up for the loop! its nuts!

  • awesome! i realy like it! you give me a passion :)

  • nice clip!

How do you instal a camera on your wing?

  • Hi, look at some older comments, I answered that question already. I may take some pictures during this season and post them! Thanks!

  • Nice little film !

  • nice video swiftmaxu !

  • Good one!!!!!!!

keep pushing it, dont forget to post more vids!!!

  • Thanks for the comment! I try to add more in the comming season!

  • Wish I had 6 stars for that one! Fantastic!

  • Nice to hear that you like it! Best regards, Markus

  • Awesome film, Where can i buy a platform like that, and does it fit almost every glider?

  • The "platform" is selfmade and i don´t think you could by it somewhere. It attaches to the wingtip with four proper bolts.
