If you know your history you know that with the fall of Angkor the Siamese court took the entire dance troop back to Ayutthaya so that the Siamese court could be taught the culture of the Khmers, so in a sense the Siamese preserved Khmer culture by adopting and developing it in its own court. Culture is fluid, you can't copy it, it influences and shapes each other. Just think about it, modern Cambodian "ballet" also uses the dress of the Siamese Court not just the Khmer costumes.

...childish arguments, this is Lanna dance, not central thai dance so this type of influence is not from Khmer. Culture,clothing and dance is a combination of Nan, Burma and Lanchang(lao). It's easy to tell from the sound of the instruments and the clothing style neither Khmer or central thais dressed like this during that era except the Lao and Burmese people.:p

when the thais sacked angkor, they took away with them musicians and artists and dancers with them to their courts. back then the spoils of war wasn't money or oil it was culture. khmer angkor culture is waaaay older than thai culture, maybe you should do a quick refresh on your history tsubame.

Before pointing your fingers out you should know that Thailand is different by region. The central Thais have Khmers influences not Northern Lanna kingdom of ours. If you dont underdtand how our country is and am sure you've never visit TH you'll never know the difference. Lanna Kingdom never have any Khmer influences. We have our own culture and language. Better learn history before teaching to us who know more then you.

Tai and Thai is not the same thing. Tai are the second wave of Ailao (lao) peoples. Most of Tai live in the north of Thailand but the Siamese are a mixture of peoples Mon/Khmer/Malay/Tai(just a little) plus some small ethnic groups as Lawa. Thai is just a nationality not ethnic.
