  • Thanks for the review. I'm definitely gonna go try some. But I'm wondering which package i should buy. Did you use the littlest brush guard on the second smallest for your MAC 213?

  • I ordered my brush guard and i was wondering how long does it take for shipping?

  • Will the largest one fit a 134??

  • are brush guards available in drug stores or somewhere?

  • i have these i absolutely love them! couldn't be better i dry my brushes upside down to prevent glue loosening in the brushes and these make it sooo much easier, as well as for travel.. wonderful product and surely not too expensive, i have a ton of these so i always have spares!!! worth the money

  • UltimateTwilight135 make-up artists

  • MUA stands for:

    Make-

    Up

    Artist

  • If you buy brush guards you can cut them in half, singe the cut sides with a flame (blue flame, not yellow) and double your guards. I had do do this because most of my brushes are travel size and they were too long. So thought this would help...

  • Hi Penelpole, I noticed your note here. Please be aware that flame-cutting or using a hot knife on The Brush Guards will release highly toxic fumes--I don't want anyone to do something this risky without knowing how to protect herself. So, if you choose to do this, find out how to have sufficient ventilation and exhaust capabilities. Your health is so important! Diane Baker from The Brush Guard.

  • How do you pay?

  • Comment removed

  • words of Caution. don pull back if the bursh guard is in place ....

  • thankyou so much Enkore I really needed this!

  • i got some of the bigger ones from florists. they are used to protects roses. i think they are called rose nets.

  • Yeah I got some from Easter lillies and those work for medium and large brushes as well!

  • for the 187 you used the large or extra large?

what about the 150 and the 134??

  • Makeuponabudget has a cute project making brush guards at home - nice school project for Mom's day or the like... Also, a great dupe for these guards are yarn sleeves found at sewing or crafts areas.

  • dont waste your money. but this netting in bulk from a craft or sewing store.

  • You can also use cable sleeving, you can purchase it at a pc store

  • i will be purchasing several of the sets, as i have a lot of brushes. thanks so much for the tips and recommendation :)

  • i'm getting this now! (:

  • Mine should be here wednesday. I'm so excited.

  • I must buy some now for my upcoming trip (-:

I love your videos. you so helpful and talented and thank you for sharing all of your awesome tricks of the trade!

  • like always very good info. thank you.

  • Thank you, you have good videos ^-^

  • I love when you do videos because you put so much information in them and the video's are pretty short and it's amazing how you can put so much info at the same time

  • every time i face a problem, there is always a video u make that help me! :o

i run out of my mac brush cleanser soo fast! thnx!! ur rock! keep up the great work!

  • FREE SHIPPING! Yay! I just ordered 2 bags today after watching this!

  • Koren, Do you prefer drying you brushes with the brush guard or just drying flat?

  • serious? Great! i'll defiantly get a set for sure now! Thanks so much for the info! xD

  • Enkore, thank you for recommending this product becaust it made my coastal scents brushes feel like new again.

  • How about kabuki brushes? Since, the largest isn't really super big ^_^''

  • the large is perfect for even the largest kabuki brushes :)

  • what a great product. Thanks for sharing it with us. I have been looking for something like this before. I usually just use the plastic case my brushes came with when I travel. This is a much better product. This totally solves my problem. Thanks!

  • I just bought some. I can't wait to get them in and use them when I go out of town :)

  • Can you buy these in stores? If so,where?

  • are these like those finger trap things? cuz they seem the same but in different sizes

  • bought this from ebay but found just the other day from another gurus video (Miss Chievous, I think) link that you can get the same effect by wrapping your just shampooed brushes with tissue paper.

very economical and your brushes will go back to the original shape. don't waste your money on this.

  • I ordered 3 sets and can't wait for them to arrive! I will post my thoughts after using them...

  • I was excited to come home today and open the package that came in the mail! I luv em! takes a bit of trial and error to find the best size for each brush. this will help keep them clean and in imMACulate shape ;D

  • i wish i had seen this video before i used my brushes. the logos are all rubbed off : (

  • thanks for sharing!

  • wow thank you!, basically my parents are devorced and im constantly going back and forth. doesnt seem that big of a deal, but the stuff that i need every week (like makeup products) have to stay in a bag that i take back and forth so basically my whole bathroom goes with me with maybe some clothes. And i was wanting better brushes but knew these trips would ruin them because i dont have storage either so they would stay in the bag. so this is VERY useful to me. This makes me able to get brushes

  • Can 239 fit into small?

  • the medium fits better. small is too snug, my opinion.

  • @EnKoreMakeup hi , since your an expert on this product can you help me ? i have a smashbox brush #29 what is the best cover for it . thanks i love watching your videos

  • Hi Brother Enkore. i like you videos very much each time i saw them i get some new tips my dear brother enkore I cant afford all the brushes of mac as its very expensive for me I want to ask u what kind of MAC brush i will purchase for eye shadow pls suggest me an eyeshadow brush which covers all. means ALL IN ONE :)

  • if there's one brush to do eyeshadows... hmm... would be the 217.

  • @EnKoreMakeup thankks love it

  • @EnKoreMakeup thankks love it

  • I ordered mine today. Awesome!

  • my brush handle is too big.. they are from the body shop. should have bought mac brushes. :(

  • Hi Hexoz--you'd be surprised how flexible The Brush Guards are--we have not found a handle too big yet.

    Diane from The Brush Guard

  • C'Mon people. just put in small plastic bags and it and don't let heavy weight sit on it and that should be enough.

  • You can also buy the tube material by the foot ($.35 - $1.65)in different colors & widths. They'd make great holiday gifts!!

You Tube won't let me place a link, so here's the website and what page they're on.

Go to cableorganizer(dot)com, click on "Braided Sleeving" (drop-down menu on left), then click on "PET Colored Expandable Sleeving". (Upper left)

I love my neon pink & neon green brush guards!!

  • Thanks for the tip! Gracias

  • @head2toepainter

    what sizes did you get?

  • @head2toepainter

    what sizes did you buy??

  • i just recieved mine in the mail...and omg i love them i hate fly aways and stary hair and this most def takes care of it im going to order more thank koran

  • thanks for all yr tips, pls where can i get good quality but not too pricey makeup brushes and empty palettes (for my MAC eyeshadows). thank you

  • Hi Koran! thanks for all your tips, if it weren't for you, I don't know what state my brushes would be in! I have a question for you, before you found the brush guard, what did you do to preserve the handle of your brushes? Did you put nail polish on the logo? Thanks!

  • I used to spray it with Grumachers Art Fixative Sealer Spray - before that, i tried the clear top coat polish, but much like in finger nails, I find that they eventually peef off or chip.

  • where can you buy this sealer spray? i can't find it online!

  • just use clear nail varnish or hairspray but dont put it 2 close nail vairnish is better thow

  • Thanks for the video I just ordered mine. Can't wait!

  • I just ordered the brush guard because of this video thank you!

  • a great way to perserve the mac logo and number on your brush is putting clear nail polish over it and its wont rub off

  • Hi Koren! I've ordered and received two brush guard sets after watching your videos and I love them! My brushes cost me a lot so this buy is definitely not a waste of money. Thanks for sharing!=)

  • Fabulous. I use the ones that come with the brushes.. but I love this so much more. Thanks for this !!!

  • I got mine in the mail last week and OMG! I love these! The large one for my kabuki brush frayed some but it still works perfectly, and my kabuki brush has like a large bulby think on the end to make it easier to grip (I guess) and that was what caused the fraying. I am not a pro mua but I still love these! They really protect my brushes. I am on a fixed income so anything that will prolong the life of my brushes is great!

  • That's a wonderful idea! :o)

  • Wanted to let you know I went to the site you had on your sidebar and ordered a couple of these brush guards I don't think they are stupid at all because with the cost of some of the good brushes it is good to keep them in shape and keep them covered. Thanks so much for sharing such a wonderful idea with us !!!

  • Bought it, got it, and LOVE IT..came fast

  • This may sound stupid but where can i order this???

  • I disagree - for the casual makeup artist, it could be a waste, but the average to frequent user, its a great saving tip. When brushes wear and warp, they become ineffective because they no longer create the effect they were designed for, thus they need to be replaced. As most of us know these brushes aren't cheap by any means, and I really appreciate this video, and all the information it contains! Thanks again, EnKore!

  • i dont see how it is a waste of money... i mean some of the MAC brushes are like $70 - $90 and spending $10... thats a really good deal... hell i only spent like $12 for all mine.. and i am still going to get this...

  • this is very helpful.. I'm going to get some when i get my mac brushes..great video

  • this is so cool...i cant wait to try them out...thanks koren

  • Koren you are absolutely amazing:) I love all of your videos they are so great and so very helpful !!!!

  • How old were you when you wanted to do this lol like make up?

  • thats so awesome koren ! thanks :)

  • Thanks so much for making this video! I just ordered a pack and I'm super excited to try them. :)

  • How do you keep yours so white?

    <3Devan<3

  • I wash them after every use.

  • Is the sleeve washable? I'm concerned about product transfer between uses.

  • OMGs! I ordered a set last night to try them out. I made sure to put in the memo where I found them. My mom is interested in trying them for the paint brushes at her ceramic shop as well.

  • enkore, if i'm just interested in keeping the brush hairs in shape (already put clear nail polish on all the numbers of my brushes), should i buy a brush guard or just put my brushes in the plastic sleeves they come in?

  • OMG!!! This is sooooo frakin' cool! I'm sharing the it w/face painting friends, as well as my fellow iconographers (I do Byzantine Icons) AND also w/my decorative painting pals. TERRIFIC idea. Best thing I've seen for all the sable brushes I've invested in. Thanks!!!!

  • Can anybody tell me German-Girl what this tube is? I don´t know were i find some Stuff.

  • Dude! I just bought some new brushes! I'm TOTALLY investing in these things! Thanks for spreading the word!

  • That is so funny. It makes me think why didn't I think of that. I use to build computers a lot and use those tubes. They're actually the same as the tubes you can find for modding computer cables. So you can find those tubes at a Fry's Electronics or a PC store.

  • cool I am in the UK and that would be easier to purchase, what is the official name of it thanks?

    Thanks Koren cool idea xxx

    xxxJoolsxxx

  • When you dry the brushes using The Brush Guard, just be sure that The Brush Guard extends beyond the bristles about 1/4 - 1/2" and set the covered brush upright, bristles down, in a glass or can or cup. It dries straight, and the water is pulled away from the ferrule by gravity! We hope you love The Brush Guard--Diane, the other partner in The Brush Guard.

  • I sent them an email asking about shipping internationally. They charge $3USD for shipping for upto 5 packets :-)... so I will be able to buy some!

  • Thank u for showing this i just ordered a pack !!!

  • Thanks so much! Just ordered a package. Traveling soon and even with my roll I still manage to mess one or two brushes up. This is a great invention. I hope they're giving you commission!!

  • As alway sooooooooooooo helpful!

  • yay thank you!

  • Love it! Great info, just ordered two packets!

  • Thanks for sharing! I'm definitely checking this!

  • Great idea!!!

    Thanks!!!

  • These would be great for me, but purely because my cat loves my brushes and has already ruined one of my Mac powder brushes. He think's they are birds, so attacks them and will growl at you if you try and take them off him!!! lol.

  • you can also buy those knee-high stockings that come in a bubblegum machine ball for 50 cents and cut them into tubes :)

  • oh yeah id do that! you can make several from just the one pair! haha

  • WOW those are so good im going to the website now to buy some. Thank you so much for putting this video out if you hadnt i wouldnt of found out about them cheers hun x

  • could you use these for when you was the brushes and leave them to dry as I always find a brush that is a bit bent

  • Hang them over the edge of the counter so they dont dry with one side flat....

  • Thanks for sharing! :D

  • oh my goodness! perfect for traveling!!

im going on a little getaway next month and have been wondering how i feel bring a few of my brushes without smooshing them together or messing up the bristles.

i will be buy 2 of these sets!!

great promotion for the new product as well! thanks EnKore!!

  • The inventor of this product deserves Nobel Prize. We no longer have to buy retractable brushes!!

  • thanks for introducing this product to me, Koren!! i just purchased a pack!!! :)

  • Hello Koren,

I just bought 2 sets. Im anxious to get them. Thanks for great the great tips!

    Marissa

  • tq koren.. love u.

  • Wow! I am the inventor of The Brush Guard (well, one of two). Someone just forwarded this to me and I have to admit, I'm stunned. What a great presentation. I hadn't thought about the handle and grip application. Nice point.

As for cleaning it, yes, they can be washed, but I would recommend that you do it by hand. I think machine washing would damage the welded joints between the fibers that hold the ends together.

  • Oh wow! Thanks for visiting my channel! Kudos to your invention.

  • A new site for me. You did a great job on the video. If you have any questions, such as that cleaning thing, don't hesitate to contact me.

  • thank you koren.. great vid

  • Speaking about the writing on a brush coming off... I always put clear nail polish on everything that has a label (especially brushes).

The otherday I was using my 222, and noticed the nail polish was peeling. So I flicked the pealing polish, and part of the writing came off with the chipped polish. OMG, I screamed so loud that my husband thought I was being murdered.

Maybe I should get those brush guards.

  • its a dumb product...its just a company trying to get rich off of idiots that actually buy such things...im sure we can make our own which will work just as well.

  • Enkore I need this at my local Drug store. This is good for ppl like me who are concern about not dirtying the inside of their bag. i just wished I could pick it up at a local store:) Great idea.

  • is the brush guard itself washable?

  • That is a good point... Technically bacteria is gonna be there too soooo. Oh well. I just purchased two packs for my trip in a month. :-)

  • yes it is washable - I wouldnt throw it in the laundry machine or anything, but it washes easily by hand.

  • Thank you thank you thank you! I've been loking for a way to keep my brushes in shape while they're in my makeup bag. Thank you!

  • FANTASTIC product review!! Thanks a lot!!!!!!

  • omg! this is great! thanks for the tip! im buying one today! =)

  • thats so mean..i love his vids and i dont care about how his voice sounds..plus if i did i dont think it is bad

  • Did you feel the need to say that? Honestly, so rude and disrespectful.

  • that is very ugly

  • you know how you can cover the brush, well say you use another brush and cover it, wont the bacteria from the other brush get on the brush guard?

  • Great idea, you are awesome!

  • Koren you did it again!! You're a life saver!! Well more like a brush saver!!

  • As expensive as some brushes are, this is a good tip to keep them as long as possible. Thanks for the tip.

  • I'm not much for products like that, but this one looks really neat and useful!

Thanks for posting the video :=)

  • HOT tip, thanks for sharing - looks like a FAB product =)

  • hey great video! this is such an ingenious idea! the mac logo always rubs off on my lipglasses.. is this common?

  • Koren, when you say preserve the life, that kinda gives me the sense that brushes are only good for a certain amount of time ,is that so? I know you said you had your 187 for yrs,but do brushes have a life span?

  • yes, if you maintain and clean your brushes and take good care of the bristles, the brushes should last a long time. Otherwise, they fall apart, you get bristle shedding, the handle cracks and breaks, the lacquer peels off, etc.

  • Thnks,I know you"re busy so I appreciate u taking the time to reply,I def take care of my brushes I need them for auditions and stuff!

  • This is so great, been wanting those, eventhough am not a MUA, still need those to protect my brushes from dust or bacteria or whatever is out there, haha.. thanks thanks.. you have been a problem solver hehe, thanks love love ya.

  • so its basically a condom for the brush

  • You find the coolest stuff!

Thanks for sharing with all of us.

  • Amazing advice!

  • This is awesome! I am always thinking of ways to keep my brushes in tip top shape! Thank you, Koren!

  • thanks koren for having this video and that's the one i really wanted to have to keep my brushes last long and also to keep away from the dust or airborne contaminates. thanks soooo much. great help and i love your videos. 100% thumbs up:) SMILE...

  • Koren your awesome

  • Hey Enkore, I actually tried these out couple months ago. GREAT BUY! oly down effect is from throwing it in my purse alot with all the other things in there, it became fragile and broke. However that was only one instance, and because i dont put my stuff in a makeup bag (nono)

  • Very cool! Thanks :)
