  • I wiiiilll get byyy

    da na na na naaaaa

  • Please dont talk about religion. It's anyoing if your not at church. But i would be a deadhead if i could have

  • This is a great song.

I'd give it all to see em in concert..

  • Good song!

  • no offense to deadheads alright, the greatful dead are a great band and they are very talented musicians but do not worship these men they arent gods just good musicians

  • shut up

  • why?

  • i am not trying to be a jerk man i was just saying they are not gods alright, they are good musicians and i like them and just because someone doesnt believe in something that you do u do not need to tell them to shut up!!!!!!

  • sorry man, i just don't see the point in saying it man, some people watching this will be like old school hippie trippin beards man, they know the shit

  • they're the gods of our hearts and souls...

  • how do you know theyre not gods?

thats would be like me saying that jesus was just a man.

let people believe what they believe.

  • They are music gods but they are not immortal gods like God or Shiva or those other gods

  • well people believe that those gods are immortal. nobody knows for sure. just like nobody knows if the grateful dead are immortal. some have died, but who knows if their spirits as gods are watching over us? religion is such a puzzling concept...

  • Either way, these people make awesome music♥

^-^ Let's just leave it at that.

  • amen!

  • Hmm, what about rock gods?

  • Shiva is god. Ask a Shaiva.

  • Dose rock gods work?

  • no

    jerry garcia

    hendrix

    robert plant

    syd barrett

4 examples that rock gods are not immortal

  • Robert plant? You mean John Bonham?

  • how about Led zeppelin in a whole

  • I remember when this was released in I think 1987 and hearing it on the radio and saying to myself "Wow, I really like this new George Harrison song" only to find out it was the Dead. It sounds just like George's voice from his Dark Horse period and the guitar solo has him written all over it. Great song.

  • bertha looks pixelated in this vid.

  • thank the heavens above for music like this..wasnt this on 7" grey vinyl??

  • right on

  • This song is such an inspiration. Man, i dont think ive heard a song like this in a long, long time

  • It's got sort of a Book of Job message to it.

    I love it.

"It's even worse than it appears but it's all right..."

  • It is an inspiration. Even on my worst days I can just play this song and feel great:)

  • Thanks for the post, Love the dead!

    Total Deadhead!

    Peace & Love,

    Olivia

  • this song rocks and i love it it makes me wanna disco!

  • hold up a fuckin minute dont compare the dead to disco this makes you wanna be happy not disco get it straight

  • Good song, overplayed song

  • one of their top hit songs

  • It's too bad because I think the overplay has caused it to be somewhat underappreciated. Some of the lyrics in this song are very good.

  • You are correct. The overplay causes some Dead fans to ignore this song. Too bad....I think Jerry's best lyrics are in this song. They are biting and directed at someone or possibly everyone.

  • I am glad that I liked the song before I knew it was overplayed. That may have tainted my view of it. I'm not even that much of a "Dead" fan, but they do have some really good songs, including this one.

  • They actually call the big fans of this song "Touchheads", or people that became fans because of this song.

  • i saw a motorbike with that logo at fuel tank :)

    nice

  • deadhead for life

  • become the video, become "one with everything" put yourself out there as "the sacrafice" and sacrafice yourself as one

  • Great installment. Thanks.

  • nice song i like the greatful dead they kick ass they were rock :)

  • This is rumored to get into Rock Band. Sweet.

  • That might make me play the game then...hope that's the case

  • good song i love the dead check it out i made a better version of candyman in my head i need someone with a studio to make the song come to life can u help me i live in orlando

  • hey having trouble finding your favorite albums come check out my channel we will post most of your favorites

  • or how about gregory issacs one man against the world

  • hey if any one wants a new dead song up just ask ill put it up for ya ,, or any song really as long as its good

  • "Dark Cloud Instrumental" by Latch Key Kid. Can't find it anywhere but it's amazing.

  • On my very worst days this song always makes me feel better.

  • the thing is, he didnt care, nor will he ever.

  • i bet u did. ur a tool

  • Yeah, I'm so sure Gerry [sic] actually saw you mouthing some bullshit and gave enough of a shit to nod his head and smile at you. Give it a rest, tool. No one cares about the stories you have to make up in order to get attention.

  • Well the thing is that people would buy into anything he did because of who Jerry was. I can remember times when he was playing complete crap and nodding out on stage. But everyone just ate it up. They did not know the difference. People heart what they want to hear and see what they want to se. Like I saw him in a small venue one time and he was smoking on stage. Of course he was smoking cigarettes but every time he lit up people cheered believing it was a joint. Love is strange...

  • dude ur full of shit give it up nobody gives a fuck what you've "seen"

  • Oh no I am not. Anyone who followed the band years ago and went to concerts knows I am right. If they saw him live at the worst times. I mean the Touch of Gray deal was not bad muscic. But is was prety much a low point for the band. And the MTV video was designed to hit on a totally different audience. The teeny bopper bubble gum crowd. Just look at the audience in the video. The album and video amounted to the band allowing a bunch of teenagers to ass rape them. Slipknot this is not.

  • it was the deads ONLY top ten hit!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • who cares?

  • true deadheads can appreaciate everything from blues for allah to this

    listin to the lyrics

  • Oh come on. If he was fucked up and doing that it was heroin. And the whole audience was not fucked up.

  • This song brightens up my worst days. I want it as mt ring tone but can't seem to find it.

  • Thank you GD. You were like a piece of candy from God.

  • they did have some questionable tunes but touch of grey and truckin will live on inside of me

  • Dam, listen that bass track.

  • i love this song so...so much...its pure joy in a xylophone .

  • woot 20,000 views lets keep em comin

  • God bless the family of Alton Kelly!

  • The "gratest" song ever. This is coming from the biggest dead head ever!

  • Hey! Can we all remember Alton Kelly(67) who died today & was primary artist for 'Grateful Dead' posters in the Toulouse Le Trec genre!

    What freakin great posters!

  • Fuck yeah,this songs rules!

  • I used to hear this song when I was a child, it brings back memories

  • I was the Flower Child, I love my parents for being hippies and raising me in that enviorment, and raising me listening to the dead. They have always brightened my day.

    Grateful till death.

  • this song was realy it told a realy story about greateful dead i am dead head will always love the dead rip the leand of the band jerry my he rip

  • sorry for spaming my own vid but pls check out my channel i could use some new subers

  • As a fan of the Dead I'm really gald they did this song becasue, as these messages point out, a lot of people who didn't normally dig on the Dead really liked this song. I would ask these folks to check out more of the bands stuff, becasue there is a lot in there.

    peace to all

  • Heard it once in a music store. It kept on my mind as one the best Dead songs ever.

  • this band never did much for me but i've always loved ♥ this song... it's a great feel good tune that reminds me of High School

  • Another one of my favorites from the 80's!!

    Thank you, Jerry Garcia!!!

  • huh i've listened to this song so many time but i've never heard that little solo until today. whatever i like it with the solo better

  • I hate grateful dead but this song is awesome!

  • i'm not dissing on you, but how can you hate the dead?

  • I was never a big Grateful Dead fan...but this song is really great (or should I say Grate). Makes me smile and feel good! I bought this tape (before CDs were the thing) and think I wore it out! Thanks for the memories!

  • Awesome song, one of my favorite from the Dead.

  • please sub

  • I can see why it cracked the top 20... best song imo. Not a Deadhead, but this song is very uplifting and shows talent.

  • touch of grey. only dead song that cracked the top 20 ... what a gift, this music is so good it "lives" with you......

  • man i love this song

  • love the dead. im a hudge deadhead. i got my 5 year old sister to watch this video and since then she's been a dead head with me

  • seldmomseen and I never called ourselves deadheads.

  • Well, I like this song and it's nice that a song without the lame sort of formulaic lyrics I often seem to hear actually became a hit in the 80s.

  • i agree with whiteroom51 if you hate the song why listen to it...dumbass

  • what an idiot! get a life, and dont listen to the song if you hate it.

  • YamTost, my foot has your asshole's name on it. You would be honored to pay Jerry Garcia a million dollars just to blow him for 5 seconds. Go listen to your indy shit, Hitler lover.

  • I don't understand how I hate jews, disabled, gays, etc. by not liking the song. I'm actually really offended because I am jewish. Okay, but I'm not gonna be stupid and call you names because you have different views than I do. I don't know how yopu could get so upset over a comment.

  • then why the HELL are you posting you call yourselfs deadheads ha

  • thx for so many views i will so be posting the actual music vid so check it out

  • great song. i remember hearing it on pbs after Jerry died. i was like 7 and my dad let me stay up all night watching the special. i always think of that night when i hear it.

  • I was at the monterey show when they filmed this video, I wish i could go back to that time in my life, it was beautiful...and seldomseen, you are the worst sorry excuse for a deadhead with that shitty attitude, just dig it and shut up.

  • man if your a dead head its all the best

  • yes i agree

  • im just saying if you listen to songs like truckin, new speedway boogie, or casey jones, this doesnt even compare.

  • maybe not to you seldom233 i listen to alot of music and lots of diff kind this is my fav grateful dead song and i hope this doesnt make you respond like a complete moron its also the only dead song ive ever liked

  • this is the dead only some i can appreciate when im not crazy high

  • love this song makes me just want to dance

  • yes

  • one of my faveorite songs
